It's a shame KFC jumped the gun & rushed this 13 inch version to production. They should hve waited a bit to see fans reactions to this increased scale. If they waited,They could have seen all the hate & returned it back to it's original 9-9.5 inch height.
Will this 13 inch version sell enough to not bankrupt KFC? Who knows,Will KFC listen to fans & create a 2nd batch that is smaller?
Um....changing/creating molds is not cheap. Do you realize what you are asking of KFC? I agree that they should have maybe had some prototype shots to show us to see what the reaction was, but asking them to change now would be incredibly expensive. I'm thinking they are locked in while trying to beat Takara to production.
(I used to be involved with plastic molding, and while the creation of molds in different sizes is much cheaper than when I last worked with the process (thank you computers and robots!) it is still very expensive.)

The alt mode actually looks pretty sweet. too bad this figure is doomed to fail. Noone will buy this to display next to old MP figures that people don't display anymore and an Armada Starscream. Many people put away (or sold) their old MP1 and MP5 when the new MPs came out and they look out of place.
Not me though I still display MP 5 with all my MP Decepticons and I still have my MP1 in alt mode displayed. I should all over this, BUT I will not get it.

It's too late for this thing to get cancelled. KFC has already paid the factory for the first batch. Production in the factories has already begun & might be all done. Packaging is even all completed. I'd wager this was rushed so fast,It's probably in a container already heading to the states on a big shipping boat.
Online distributors like BBTS,Captured Prey,TFsource & Toyarena Have all commited & made contracts with KFC. no one is backing out,at this point. Even if everyone backs out, which I doubt at this point. KFC isn't going to let all these things sit in there house or wherever. KFC will simply sell them all on ebay themselves.
Thing is KFC is not responsible whether or not individual buyers, buy this or not. KFC once they sell the first batch & get there money from the on-line distriutors its deemed a sell out success for them. it becomes the online distributors problems to sell the stuff. KFC could care less how long it takes them.
As long as I get mine. I could care less if anyone else buy it, likes it or if it flops or not. being a sales flop might be a positive for me. As I could score a second one for a fraction of the price.
The reason why Impossible toys went bankrupt was. Because they couldn't convince any online distributors to keep buying there products. IT makes its money & sells out of stuff once they convince the distributors to buy everything. Due to so many repeated flops in a row. online distributors didn't want to take the chances ordering from IT anymore. While KFC's tiny cassettes & other products are low quality, everything does sell well enough on all the online distributors sites to install the confidence needed to get them to order more KFC products.

the original MP's (1&5) look good with beast wars characters. they match up pretty good for all the ark scenes.

That is flatly not true. KFC may already have their money for this, if this doesn't move well retailers will be less likely to order their next product. One product that's a colossal failure can lower retailer demand to almost nothing. Unlike the cassettes or even their Perceptor, this takes up much more warehouse space meaning that anything they put out in the future will be ordered in lower quantities. So yeah, you might be able to get it for as low as half off in a year. And you better love it because it'll have been the last thing KFC ever made.

If KFC's looked something closer to that custom and was closer to Classics scale I'd probably snatch it up as I too am sort of tired of the dated FP City Commander add-on kit. It was epic for its time, but the blocky parts-forming/shell-forming clunker is starting to show its age.

Tsutsukakushi wrote:The price for this is low for a 3rd party TF toy of this size. If Takara sold this in Japan They would call it a MP & sell it for over $200. If Hasbro sold this in the states they would sell it at TRU stores for over $130.
