It's a shame KFC jumped the gun & rushed this 13 inch version to production. They should hve waited a bit to see fans reactions to this increased scale. If they waited,They could have seen all the hate & returned it back to it's original 9-9.5 inch height.

Will this 13 inch version sell enough to not bankrupt KFC? Who knows,Will KFC listen to fans & create a 2nd batch that is smaller?

Um....changing/creating molds is not cheap. Do you realize what you are asking of KFC? I agree that they should have maybe had some prototype shots to show us to see what the reaction was, but asking them to change now would be incredibly expensive. I'm thinking they are locked in while trying to beat Takara to production.

(I used to be involved with plastic molding, and while the creation of molds in different sizes is much cheaper than when I last worked with the process (thank you computers and robots!) it is still very expensive.)

I knew it wouldn't be cheap. KFC jumping the gun like this & not waiting to see fans reactions first. Is just :HEADHURTS: :BANG_HEAD:

I'm curious & gotta know. Who here would have bought this at the 9-9.5 inch height?

I would've. Hell, I still might buy this down the line. It would look good on my Magnus shelf since MP Ultra Magnus will go with the MP's anyway.

I don't own the 1986 Utra Magnus toy. This thread has me curious about how the MP-10 Mold & the 1986 Ultra Magnus toy scale with each other. I'm more or less need the pics. Because i'm wondering how out of scale this huge behemoth 13 inch KFC UM toy is scaled next to MP-10.

Any MP-10 & 1986 Ultra Magnus toy scale pics. posted in this thread would be greatly appreciated.

If Takara's scales anything like this with MP-10, I'll be happy:

It's got feet,I wasn't expecting that after seeing the partial pics from a few days ago.

Car Carrier vehicle mold looks almost like a liscensed Binal Tech alt mode. As it's so overly detailed & has a high level realism sculpt.

It's a visually beatiful pic like this that makes me glad I make exceptions here & there, when deciding to throw scale issues out the window.

Allowing scale issues to prevent me from buying superior high level toys like this. Is not a sacrifice I am willing to make here.

Sure this can scale nicely next to MP-01,MP-05,MP-22 & Armada super mode optimus. But to be quite honest it doesnt need to scale next to anything on a display shelf. This is so visually beautiful & high level,it can scale all by itself on it's own shelf as that shelfs main center piece.

Not me though I still display MP 5 with all my MP Decepticons and I still have my MP1 in alt mode displayed. I should all over this, BUT I will not get it.

It's too late for this thing to get cancelled. KFC has already paid the factory for the first batch. Production in the factories has already begun & might be all done. Packaging is even all completed. I'd wager this was rushed so fast,It's probably in a container already heading to the states on a big shipping boat.

Online distributors like BBTS,Captured Prey,TFsource & Toyarena Have all commited & made contracts with KFC. no one is backing out,at this point. Even if everyone backs out, which I doubt at this point. KFC isn't going to let all these things sit in there house or wherever. KFC will simply sell them all on ebay themselves.

Thing is KFC is not responsible whether or not individual buyers, buy this or not. KFC once they sell the first batch & get there money from the on-line distriutors its deemed a sell out success for them. it becomes the online distributors problems to sell the stuff. KFC could care less how long it takes them.

As long as I get mine. I could care less if anyone else buy it, likes it or if it flops or not. being a sales flop might be a positive for me. As I could score a second one for a fraction of the price.

The reason why Impossible toys went bankrupt was. Because they couldn't convince any online distributors to keep buying there products. IT makes its money & sells out of stuff once they convince the distributors to buy everything. Due to so many repeated flops in a row. online distributors didn't want to take the chances ordering from IT anymore. While KFC's tiny cassettes & other products are low quality, everything does sell well enough on all the online distributors sites to install the confidence needed to get them to order more KFC products.

Why are you quoting me? what you said has nothing to do with what I was saying.

It's nice to know that you would want a company to fail so you can get something they made that you like for cheaper. shows the kind of person you are I think.

I wasn't wishing or praying KFC fails. I was saying I don't care if they do. Thats a huge difference & different meaning. I don't care because my role in this is just the buyer.

Yep, exactly :). In fact, that's the only reason I ever even considered getting MP-05, but I still haven't (I can't get over how show accurate he's not). I've been half tempted to grab an extra MP-11 and MP-13 to put them into my BW Ark scene as well (Starscream leaning up against a wall and Soundwave laid out flat on the floor) but I don't have the space at the moment and that's pretty pricey just to re-create a diorama like that. I couldn't resist doing so with Prime though, and don't regret mutilating the head one bit now that I have MP-10. Of course technically I used MP-04 for the body and swapped the head with the ugly orange Hasbro version's head so MP-04 could still be complete/undamaged if ever I wanted him to be).

I bought it. Looks pretty bad ass IMO. Will display it w my MP collection and when Tak releases their official version assuming its a win I will just move him over to my MP 1 and binaltech shelf. Way too much QQ about scale around these parts. The guy did ask if everyone wanted him scaled w alt or bot. Well voters chose and here you are.

That is flatly not true. KFC may already have their money for this, if this doesn't move well retailers will be less likely to order their next product. One product that's a colossal failure can lower retailer demand to almost nothing. Unlike the cassettes or even their Perceptor, this takes up much more warehouse space meaning that anything they put out in the future will be ordered in lower quantities. So yeah, you might be able to get it for as low as half off in a year. And you better love it because it'll have been the last thing KFC ever made.

I found this and I must admit it looks pretty badass. It doesn't transform but it's scaled with MP-10:
Image

If KFC's looked something closer to that custom and was closer to Classics scale I'd probably snatch it up as I too am sort of tired of the dated FP City Commander add-on kit. It was epic for its time, but the blocky parts-forming/shell-forming clunker is starting to show its age.

I agree with all of this. As I knew most of this info. I just didn't write the last part of what you wrote in my reply.

The reasons why American Retail stores under ordered on the TFP-BH toy lines. Was due to how badly DOTM flopped in stores. Flops are never a good thing. As stores order less next time around.

chimungmung is saying this will be in stock on April 10 - 12. They are selling this for $149.90. The import shipping fees will be exspensive.

I fully expect to see a few video review videos for this next week.

The import sites in the states will get this around 2-3 weeks.

Tfsource will get this before BBTS. As they have a record for doing this.

The head looks like it comes from a Superior head. The boots look like the 1986 Ultra Magnus boots. Some of the parts on the torso, waist & arms might come from FP City Commander. Some of the parts on the hips, thighs, elbows, forearms & fist looks like gundam parts.

The price for this is low for a 3rd party TF toy of this size. If Takara sold this in Japan They would call it a MP & sell it for over $200. If Hasbro sold this in the states they would sell it at TRU stores for over $130.

Yea, no. Takara would never pull a fast one on the fans and pass this thing as an MP. Sorry.

My main gripe with this is how the rear wheels on the cab sit so far in compared to the front wheels. I realise it's due to the transformation with them folding up into the cab, but I just can't get passed this to buy it.

I prefer MP-01 over MP-10. Looks much better in robot mode. This, if I decide to get it, will be displayed in robot mode only, so I don't care about the rear wheels. I would like to see some comparison pics with MP-01.
