KO Sunstreaker

Link speaks for itself.

I know we have a KO thread, but I wanted to amke sure as many people saw it as possible, firstly so vintage collectors don't get burned and secondly so those of hankering after an official reissue can persuade ourselves that we do have some morals.....

If I have broken any board rules (been gone a while :oops:

) then mods feel free to merge this into the KO thread and I'll condsider myself told off!

Seibertron.com member "Pretender Skywarp" has warned us that a new Bootleg will be released this month. The KO is of G1 Sunstreaker.
he also posted a link to an auction selling it as a soon to come reissue.
Click here to see the auction so you know what the box looks like so you can avoid it.

Be careful when buying a Sunstreaker in future as it may be a KO.

If this gets out of hand couldnt this kill the G1 market with fear of picking up a KO? If these things turn up for resale out of box on ebay we are going to have a hard time telling.

I suppose now would be a good time for an official Encore release so we knew what we were getting.

Nope. All the G1 Dinobots were KO'd and Seibs put up a G1 gallery just last week. Also, Wheeljack and a few incarnations of Mirage have been KO'd and the KO's are still selling for $75+.

I have mixed feelings. I love KO's that aren't trying to rip someone off. Like funky colours and such. However, KO's sold as G1 with G1 boxes and prices that top $100 is friggin' insane, and I don't want to be a part of it.

On the other hand, Sunstreaker has been on my "to get" list for a while, so...yeah.. I dunno.

Could someone explain me how are they able to KO Sunstreaker if his mold is totally broken?
Why can't TakaraTomy do the same thing and release him as part of the Encore line?
Seriously, if I see a Wheeljack KO, I'll run naked in the streets.

The quality of the cassettes is so-so but Mirage was really good. So if this is the same amount of quality as Mirage i'll be getting it.

Wonder how much they'd let it go for? I still need a sunstreaker. I dont care if i have a KO or a real one as long as the price is right. I dont get how the KO guys can some how make a new mold but Hasbro and Tarkara cant.

No, but seriously, the mold probably was just left in a factory. New owners come in, get the factory, all the molds in it and go to town.
