As far as I remember, that was never officially confirmed.

I think it was strongly hinted but here's the odd thing, the next film will be the reboot technically anyway because Bumblebee still works as a prequel to the 07 film, thus if the next film contains the contradictions then that will be the reboot, the one that can't be folded into the other films...if that makes sense I do wish it was a complete clean slate mind, with nothing from Bumblebee carrying forward but we'll see out it turns out anyway.

Ah, thanks for the clarification.
I'd also prefer a complete reboot, but we'll see how it plays out. I'm kinda surprised they haven't just declared Bumblebee as a reboot already.

It's not a movie. It's the next TV show featuring Captain Pike's crew aboard the Enterprise before Kirk became its captain.Brokebot wrote:Anyway, I'm not optimistic. For... Star Trek.

That's the idea, yes. "Hopeful optimism and episodic storytelling, but with ongoing character development" were the big points of the series' announcement.ZeroWolf wrote:Sabrblade wrote:It's not a movie. It looks like its going back to a serial kind of show, which h is good. Hopefully it can be more light hearted then Discovery and Picard.

Strange New Worlds is a spinoff of Discovery, picking up where Pike's crew left off at the end of Discovery Season 2, focusing on the Enterprise during that point in time after Discovery left for the far future.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Didn't they already do something with Captain Pike, previously?

Well, it's not like much could have been done during the pandemic.TulioDude wrote:If the cast is only being confirmed now,it probably means the movie is gonna come out two years from now, right?
