Quick question about low level armour. I've been using ceramic, which is I think much better than iron, but is steel any good? I know it has a shorter equipping time, but that just makes me think it must be crap...

the only thing about low level armour is that ceramic is better than Iron by a factor of about 0.1, armours a real mess so don't be suprised if faster install times are better armours(or if there not), and keep in mind you're only paying for the install fee(yeah it's bugged, or maybe glyph thinks that becuase we "earn" armour now we shouldn't have to pay for it)

though personally i'd go for endurance than armour

Well, the main reason I buy armour is simply because I'm boosting my strength and thinking "might as well buy some damage limitation as well". Have you done a full study of the different varieties?

No, some things like recharge times are easier to work out as its just a case of attacking so many times, and counting how long between, but armour is a lot more complex, i'd have to factor in what armour the defender had, how much of it the defender had (which means the defender has to be me or someone trustworthy as i can't see other's armour), how much endurance the defender had, what strength the attacker had, what weapon the attacker had (which would require another study to work out max/min damage quotas for each weapon, or having about a 7% fudge factor introduced, and if he's unarmed i'd have to do a totally different study to work out exactly how strength boosts unarmed damage), and frankly i'm not going to do it.

I'm certainly not saying don't equip armour (if you've got strength definetly get some) but if your going to upgrade rank just for the sake of better armour, i'd rather go for endurance, as it doesn't depend on strength, it protects against tactics, it doesn't require an energon outlay, it improves repairs done to you, and might decrese the chances of being stunned

Okay Siphon needs some help BADLY. I tried making a strafer because I wanted one since I first played this game, but to make a decent setup you need loads of xp. So he has been performing very poorly, constantly getting 0-500 xp and on the rare occasion, a whooping 1k xp. So any help is appreciated. Oh, and he has 6 strafe.

Lower the firepower, raise your speed and strength.

Dont expect awesome results from a strafer unless you are blasting those above your level. Careful deplyment means that Dark Spark can pulls in missions of up to 2-4K reasonably often, but you will get more shutouts as a strafer so they have to be resillient.

Thanks Psych and Tif. Looks like strafers need a lot of courage and speed.....weird, I would have thought that FP would be more important. Also, Psych, I join missions that have like 6 bots and 0 cons, but for some reason cons have to be so damn helpful and always join the missions

Yeah, but doesn't dol have a shorter recharge time than electric cannon? So, shouldn't the dol be the better choice?

I think we have a suicidal nature, and the more bots we see the better the chances of scoring big we think. I regulally see 1-10's fill up near instantly with low level strafers hoping to get a crack in at one of CJB, Hoist or Sprokitz's etc XP generators.

Keep us informed on its progress!

And the EC is a good alternative if you want to hand the Dol over to another of your team, but I prefer the energon crossbow.

yeah, if you can throw 50 odd k away on a weapon you might aswell get the better weapon, i've had a couple stockpiled for a while agaisnt the day they run out, and a few DBPSSs, still no one wants my PPFs...

PPF's are a very underrated weapon, but it does seem that most people have no idea of how good they can be...

much like the EXB really, cept the PPFs have sold out.

i spose most of the newbs have don't even realise the weapon exists as it's sold up and the majority of users are keeping them till rather high levels.

To be honest I wouldn't mind an extra set of PPFs (think I have 2 already) for some of my less experienced bots. I've mostly been trying to find out how well some of the other weapons work out. (Shotguns are my friend in this game).

i'd actually rate the DBPSS over the PPFs. course if your talking SOCO2S, then the PPFs are clearly better.

both, i think, for different bots. Mostly i'm looking for something better than the X-rays I'm still using.
