This thread for an example? How about you open your eyes and see the smiley in my first post. I was joking with you dude, but then you just had to go and take it so seriously.

Of course we all know that was just Alpha Strike trying to cover his own arse.
slip wrote:I think we are starting to see the start of something I predicted would occur. The point where knowledge of the game will start to prove more valubale then just sheer time. No offense but alot of these new players who used the rest to climb to the top have no experience in builds beyond lvl2.
Of course i'm sure this will just be blown off as i'm not even in the top 50 and don't have a single lvl2 so what do i know ah well.
Galvatron Supreme wrote:In fact, that's my whole "beef" with some of the vets: If they spent time helping new people as opposed to attacking them, the game will grow and fill with more knowledgeable and capable players.
Galvatron Supreme wrote:Arrogant? Hardly. I spend FAR less time bragging than you people do whining about "noobs" and their "luck". Healthy competition is great. Listening to the old timer's incessant bitching about the "good old days" is what ruins the "healthy competition".
So, my suggestion is for you all to stop whining about competition and actually compete. So far, with the exception of a few of you, us "noobs" have seen nothing even close to a challenge from most of the vets.
Galvatron Supreme wrote:This thread is a perfect example: I asked a simple question and then you found it nescessary to shred me to pieces over it. Are these the actions of somebody deserving of respect? lol

Change record plzkthx.
Burn wrote:I'm just waiting for someone to laugh at me and go "hahaha I reached level x faster than you did".
Which is well .... DUH! By the time it took me to reach level 4 our tactics still didn't count towards levelling up. So it took a significantly longer time to level up.
Plus we didn't have so many multi-tactic alts to choose from either.
Oh wait, better shut up, wouldn't want to be accused of whining about missing the old days now!
Though if it wasn't for old timers like me our tactics wouldn't count towards levelling and we'd all be scraping into level 1.Galvatron Supreme wrote:In fact, that's my whole "beef" with some of the vets: If they spent time helping new people as opposed to attacking them, the game will grow and fill with more knowledgeable and capable players.
And this is by "beef" with some of the new players.
They're too **** ignorant to see help when it's being given to them, or don't appreciate it because it's not what they want to hear.
Or just plain don't ask and then get pissy at the "vets" because they think help should be automatic.
Whatever the case, it's a two-sided thing. Not as one-sided as you like to think GS.
Oh hell, while we're on it. You want to know what my real problem is with you?
You want to talk about disrespect?
DISRESPECT IS STARTING A TOURNAMENT IN THE MIDDLE OF SOMEONE ELSES!
Yeah that's what you did GS. I was running a little contest which YOU were competing in. You know that little contest you also decided to stop playing because you'd done enough to win it and chose not to continue?
What did you do then? You turned around and started your own. That's **** disrespectful dude. A lot of us spent many years building a tournament structure and you just strolled in and pissed all over it.
So yeah, learn how things work around here, ask questions if you want, but don't you **** sit there crying about how you're not getting respected because it's a two way street.
And as I said, if you have a problem with someone try pming them to discuss it with them instead of hiding behind this whole "I only have a problem with a select few vets" crap.

I take offense to that. He wouldn't last 10 minutes on e/b/aums. He'd get eaten alive for taking things too srsly.

ummmm no. You declared your intention to start your little tournament BEFORE I announced that I was giving up on mine.
I asked if people were still playing it, got no real response, at which point your made your intentions to start your tournament in a time frame that WOULD have clashed with mine.
It was at that point in time that I decided to end mine due to lack of interest. But mostly because I found your actions to be completely and utterly disrespectful, to myself, and to the tournament/contest foundations that we'd spent a long time building.
Don't believe me? Go back and look at the threads and the time stamps.Fearless Echoes wrote:Burn? Sarcastic rude bastard, but he knows his stuff and is always happy to tell you.[/color]
And these days most of the stuff is answered by the time I get to chime in. That's a great example of how much this community has grown from a giant flamefest into one where people work together and (try to) have fun.
With the occassional brush fire.

You do realise that entire thread was intended to create a fun rivallry right?
Galvatron Supreme wrote:Yea, I just went and read the threads. The tourney was dead before I started mine. Apparently, you have to incentivize things here in order to have participation, which is just SAD.

That was not a quote by me. That was Jeep creating a "quote" by me, for the record.

Point remains, what you did was WRONG.

it wasn't worded that way and Alex certainly didn't read it that way (being a proud sing and all.)
