Deadpool was alright. There were only about 2 and a half fight scenes in the entire movie, while the rest of it was some kind of romance/comedy/torture thing, which I guess worked, but it didn't really do much for me. I bet people only like the movie as much as they do because it's rated R and it's different from any other superhero movie. It's a pretty boring kind of different if you ask me.

The humor is great at times, but for the most part, it's pretty juvenile. Which isn't an inherently bad thing, but I expected the movie to be exactly like that, and it was. I guess that's the problem I had with it. It was everything I expected it to be without it giving me much that took me by surprise.

The action is great for the time it's there, but 2 or 3 scenes, though, it just wasn't enough to satisfy my bloodlust. If they had included just a few more scenes of Deadpool maiming people, I think the movie would have benefited greatly. I could watch the opening scene or the last 10 to 15 minutes again, but most of everything in between just... wasn't all that special. For me, at least.

Now, I know the majority of people are going to love this movie, but me, seeing as though I hate comedy movies in general, and want gallons of non-stop blood spurting action, when promised an R-rated movie about a mercenary with tons of guns and swords who loves killing people, it was just meh. A good meh, but nothing special. Again, for me.

If you wish to post a review of Deadpool, please use spoiler tags until 12:00 AM, Monday, February 22nd. This way it won't be spoiled for those who haven't been able to see it yet. We did it with The Force Awakens, we can do it here! :)

Speaking of that film, I got to see it Thursday night, and again this afternoon. I thought it was very good. Lot of fun, but definitely not for children. From the opening credits forward, I knew what i was in for, and it did not disappoint. There are only a couple of minor things I can pick on, but those didn't take away from the movie at all. I thought the action, comedy and character development was handled well, and the story was pretty good for a start. Hopefully the sequel only turns it up, and Fox doesn't reign in the director and writers. All the characters were relevant, there was very little screen time wasted by anyone. I was pleasantly surprised by how much Colossus and Warhead were in the movie, and this may make me sound a bit creepy, but she was sexy. She was no match for Gina Carano's bewbs, but she held her own in the fight for sure. Ryan Reynolds is perfect for this role, and hopefully they make many sequels, the comics certainly have enough source material. Maybe next time we can get an actual cameo from Hugh Jackman, even though his sort-of cameo in this one was pretty funny. Overall, I thought it was the most fun movie since Mad Max: Fury Road and the most fun Marvel movie since Guardians of the Galaxy. Do yourself a favor, if you haven't seen it yet, go see it.

I definitely want to see it again, and if the cinemas weren't so bloody far away I would.

Do we call this an "origin" movie? Because if it is, it was easily the best origin movie going.

And easter eggs ... so many! I was so happy they squeezed in Bob! He may not be Hydra Bob but he was still on the wrong side!

fantastic movie(Deadpool)

loved the McAvoy, Stewart reference! also the couldn't afford another X Men reference! him playing with himself whilst holding a white toy unicorn was funny! the opening credits were hilarious! where Colossus was spewing what looked to be liquid metal was kinda funny.

btw that's the first time in a movie now i've seen a connection between x men & mcu with a Helicarrier being in there! i wonder if Deadpool will at least pop up in one of the MCU films but with his F-Bombs bleeped out? or maybe one of the X Men films with the same thing?

As a fan of Deadpool since "The Circle Chase (i.e. 1993), I love love loved the movie. Heartily recommend it to anyone who wants to see a funny action movie (and is old enough; the hard "R" rating is completely justified). You don't have to know a whole lot about the character to enjoy it; you don't need to know any background Marvel/X-men lore, or even that much about Deadpool (although it helps). You don't need to have seen any Wolverine movies to get this one (although you might miss one or two jokes; there are still plenty of others, though). The only thing I'd recommend is that you don't take it too seriously. You read a Deadpool comic to have fun; likewise, you see this movie for fun. So go have fun. And thank me later. 8-)

I don't see why not. We saw how and why he was made into what he is, and the movie set up his general circumstances in life. (Living with Al, what he does for money, etc.)

I'm hoping to see this in a weeks time, though I'm not happy about the circumstances for that change.

Still I'm looking forward to it and have been told it makes spaceballs look like the green mile.

I still want fox to fail miserably though

**** you guys. My buddy and I went to see pool last night, only to discover every single goddam showing sold out until 11:30 or later showings. We are far too old for that scrap. :(

I'll admit, I was a little shocked a r rated comedy did so well. Happy though.

I went with my dad for the 3:10 showing, and we got the last two adjacent seats. If he had waiting like ten minutes longer before buying the tickets online, we'd be in the same boat as you.

Normally for a popular movie, I check and plan ahead, but I honestly didn't think Deadpool would do that well, because of the R rating. On well.

There were actually a lot of kids there. Probably a lot of parents who thought the R-rating just meant it was just a touch more risque than a PG-13 movie.

Me and my dad both agree my 9-year-old nephew isn't going anywhere near this movie. They earned that R-rating.

Australian rating is MA-15+, that didn't stop one couple from taking their 11 year old in.

We went for the 1:40pm screening, place wasn't full but it still had good numbers.

Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle? I might start watching this. Hopefully he won't be just a season-long character or a villain.
