Agent Carter: Season One is very good it's set in the late 40s/early 50s after WWII and the events of
Captain America: The First Avenger that deals with her helping Howard Stark (Iron Man's dad) finding stolen tech that the SSR (the forerunner to SHIELD) believes he sold to enemies of America. She agrees to help Howard clear his name and get his tech he teams her up Jarvis. She also re-teams with The Howling Commandos for an adventure in Eastern Europe and we learn the origin of the secret group that trained Black Widow and she battles a member of this group as well. It's only 8 episodes and his really good. The series provides a lot of background info on the Shield, Captain America, Iron Man, and Black Widow and is a lot of fun to watch.
Agent Carter also appears in
Captain America: The Winter Soldier as an old woman in a nursing home that Steve visits at start of the movie.
She also appears in the prologue to
Ant-Man helping to restrain Micheal Douglas after he slams some asshole's face into a table.
She also appears in Captain America's dream/nightmare/hallucination created by Scarlett Witch in
Avengers: Age of Ultron.
She's also appeared in a few flashbacks in some episodes of
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as well.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Season 1 is a bit of hit-and-miss season one is slow but once Hydra appears in the second half it goes into overdrive I do like how it expands the outcome of the ending
Captain America: The Winter Solider and makes Hydra a really big threat and big reveal of a double agent and the debut of a third string hero makes for an interesting ending, if you can get through the first half of it. There are some good episodes in it but it's a slow burn. How Coulson is brought back to life is cool, the episode with Lady Sif tracking down the Enchantress is a really fun as is an episode dealing with aftermath of
Thor: The Dark World.
Season 2 is much better overall including one episode with Lucy Lawless and Edward James Olmos fighting side-by-side in flashback fighting Hydra during the events of season one you know I almost felt sorry for Hydra for a moment there...ALMOST. The creative team has a much better grasp of the characters and there are some real surprises like season long sub-plot involving Coulson spending a lot of money and lying to his team on a secret project that explains how a major surprise at the ending of
Age of Ultron works and makes sense. If you see the movie before the show it just comes like something "Nick Fury would have" with the TV show it make a lot more sense instead of feeling like a poorly done "get out of jail free card", and the introduction of a group of the Inhumans and how they tie to one of the main characters. Setting up how the Inhumans might be the CMU's answer to the X-Men is nicely done without using any of the more well known Inhumans (Black Bolt, Medusa, Gorgon, Triton, Karnak, Crystal, Lockjaw, or Maximus The Mad) New characters Bobbi, Hunter, Mack, and Trip are perfect fits and the sub-plot involving Bobbi/Hunter/Mack in who is who is for working for who is a real mind trip.
If you Netflix I would recommend watching
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. seasons one and two.
Agent Carter season one is second best TV show right after
Jessica Jones season one and is well worth the price if you can get on DVD, Blu-Ray, (
Agent Carter: Season One and
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Blu-Ray and DVD are both currently sold as Amazon exclusives) or VOD. I got
Agent Carter: Season One on Xbox Live for about $20 (US) and it's well worth it. It may not be for everyone but IMHO it's a damn good show and well worth a second season. Hopefully Haley Atwell will continue being Agent Carter as long as Marvel will have her.
