Wow, I am digging this mould. I love the beefy powerhouse IDW design for Megs and this is right up my street. Can't wait to see him against some other figures, apart from the promo shot with Classics Optimus.

I think these shots are pre-paint apps. I too have him preordered. I'm really liking the look of him, but would like to see better shots of him vs ToyWorld's Optimus.

It's hard to say how they'll scale together. There's the promo shot of Megs looking a little taller than Classics Prime, and much bulkier, albeit he's displayed with his legs akimbo.
Comparisons of TW's Prime and Classics Prime show Orion to be a whole head and shoulders taller, and beefier. It's hard to say but I reckon he'll end up being the same height as TW's Prime when stood up properly, and be a little bulkier.
I have my issues with TW Prime and chose to pass on him, albeit for size he's the best Prime out there that fits in with the CHUG ethos. I love my Classics Prime (despite the kibble) and I like the idea of Megatron being a powerhouse that's both beefier and taller than Prime. This could be a solid win for me, especially since Hasbro's Leader Megs hasn't convinced me yet.

you know what i just noticed? that chest detailing (swirly things) are gone on the new prototype! that was one of my favourite features!

I don't think it'll be much taller than Orion is to Hegemon. It might very well work out.

And yes, I miss his swirly nipples too. I hope that they add that back in when he's fully painted.

He looks alright, and for lack of another decent, G1 or IDW-esque voyager Megatron, I just might get him.

theres also a few auctions WITH primes for just over 100 bucks which is a pretty awesome deal. but theres always the recent evolutions prime.

Think Mega Steel's asking prices of $109 for regular Voyagers 3rd party TF toys seems a bit high. Think these are 3 years ago asking prices when assembly making numbers were lower. Think a fair todays price would be around $80 to $90. After all some combiners Voyager scale team members that are triple changers with a slew of accessories cost under $90 on most USA import sites. ToyWorld and USA import sites are currently only charging $114 for leader scale toys for Fort Max and Astrotrain.

I'm hoping that is the case. It could be that they add minimum paint but in all the right places. I just need all that silver and black to not dominate the figure - I can't articulate this any better.
Otherwise, what an excellent looking figure. And beastly, like the Kaon scrapper we know he is.

Is this the transformed version of the painted Megs in the recent pics? If so, he's going to need a hell of a lot more paint apps on him. It makes it worse that they took the pics with a black background.

Both this and the recent colour pics are of an unpainted sample, all the colour you see there is just plastic.
Now these new alt-mode pics, for a moment I thought they were gray scale, but actually, I think they are colour photographs of the unpainted sample. Pretty cool.
I really, really want to see the final colours though.

Think The tank mode looks like it's just the robot mode lying on its stomach with it's arms folded over on the tank top. Sorta reminds me of the overly simplified transformed Titanium WW Megatron and Titanium WW Fallen toys.
