Megatron sounds different in ROTF
I was watching the first transformers yesterday and megatron sounds totally different, in ROTF you can hear more of hugo's voice as in im hearing agent smith than the megatron i heard in the first movie.

Yeah, I noticed it right away when we went to the new one. I think it was because of one of two things.
1. Megatron was rebuilt, therefore changing his voice.
or
2. They got lazy and cut costs by not editing his or Starscreams voices much.

I couldn't help but think of The Matrix when he had Sam held down and the Doctor was putting the little robot bug in his mouth lol...
He sounded different for sure, but I think I like the new megs voice.

I liked his voice this time around. In the first movie if I didn't know it was Hugo Weaving I wouldn't have known. But I like his voice. It has a condescending tone to it and it fits Megatron.

considering he's not frozen for a good 75% of this movie, and has more lines, could just be you're noticing Hugo's voice more

(I'm new to the Transformers mythology, so please excuse me for my newbie questions) But, is the matrix of Leadership an actual thing in the Transformer's universe, or something added for the movie. I wondered about that, thinking it was called The Matrix, as some sort of nod to Hugo Weaving's ties to The Matrix movies.

The Autobot matrix of leadership pre-dates the movie The Matrix. It first appeared in the 1986 Tramsformers animated movie....its just one of those odd co-incidence's.

Re: Megatron sounds different in ROTF
yup yup...i too noticed the change right away.
it seems they just never bothered to filter it or whatever was done in the first movie. as someone else stated, its basically just hugo "au natural". but i'm forgiving for this problem because we finally got not one but two scenes between him and Starscream. it was cool seeing them be their G1 selves sorta.
i wonder if Starscream will kill him in the next movie opening the door for Galvatron. although i hope this time Starscream doesn't die.

It's probably because of all the G1 fanboys *****ing about Megatron's voice being so deep in the first one.

In the first movie I couldnt help but think of Agent Smith. this time around I guess you kind of get used to it. And I agree there should be more conflict between Megs and SS in part 3
