It is a movie that has an appropriate rating that reflects exactly what is in the film. The meaning of this rating is also expressed very clearly BEFORE the movie starts. If grownups are offended by the language...well, that is too bad. If parents are worried about the language that their little kids heard during the show.....then they really should have refrained from letting the children watch. There are TWO warnings for the movie before it is watched. It is PG-13; that's the first warning. Then, while people are sitting and waiting, and the previews are done there is a second warning that has the rating AND a brief description of what material in the movie could be offensive and why. There is simply no excuse if people neglect to notice these countermeasures.
Tried to explain this to my ex-mother-in-law as my ex-wife and I were discussing the movie. (I saw it on opening day, gave her an initial report and she took the kids to see it 2 days later) The mum-in-law just shook her head and still complained about some of the content that the ex and I were discussing. There will always be those opinionated, thick skulled, self righteous...individuals...who insist that something has to be a certain way regardless of how much they are forwarned. Facts don't mean squat just the sound of their own voice or the imposing of their own view. (Ratings discussion was the first of many ways the "mother in law" pushed my buttons this weekend. Could you tell?)

I'm loving my new support group. You guys ROCK!
This is a woman responsible for orchestrating events and then embellishing reports just prior to my divorce that resulted in a restrainging order being placed against me. I'd "off" her but Satan would just send her right back inside of a day for trying to take over his show.
I'm reasonably sure Michael Bay used her as a model for either Barricades or Megatrons personalities for the first movie.
I just pray that nobody doing the complaining about the racial aspects of this movie gets ahold of her e-mail address. Ryan will have to re-set the whole damn system just to expunge her from the boards here.

Wow, you are preaching to the CHOIR

I read about the TWINS b4hand, so I was prepared to ignore them which I did, frankly time was just wasted on them speaking when BEE or SIDESWIPE/IRONHIDE/CONS could've been speaking lines....

I just found them to be 'crass and indicative' of this "youths' culture' which is rude and base sometimes. (I'm a teacher)

All that being said I still let myself Enjoy the film, the ROBOWARS were much better engineered this time around, and OPTIMUS TOTALLY KICKED BUTT. It almost made up for the lack of cycronism of plot, Bay did a terrible job of tying things together. The ELEMENTS were there, but he didn't mix the Gumbo together very well in the pot lol.
The movie is very Choppy, but you still can enjoy it. I saw it twice, and liked better the 2nd time. It seems like we'll probably like it better on DVD; fastforward thru it and such.

They act vaguely like black stereotypes, therefore Michael Bay must have maliciously made them act like that because he hates black people! It's okay when the Wayans brothers make a movie explicitly black stereotypes because they're black, but when there's a vague hint of two secondary characters being stereotypes in a movie by a non-black man, it's racism! It all makes perfect sense now!
By Jove, I think he's got it!
You're being facetious, but Bay does think he has a "GhettoPass" to make N---a Jokes. Not too sure WHY He thinks that??? But He Does...I can totally seem him making jokes in a room full of white people Not About Black/Hispanic/Asian people but involving them... like he's "one of us minorities." A very confused White Man who doesn't know His place, and doesn't have a great deal of grace, class, or tact.
How he got involved with Speilberg is BEYOND ME

Here's an interesting idea...now that we have fairly well determined that it isn't Bay that's the racist but that it is, in fact, most likely the reviewers since they were the ones who automatically made the connection, why don't we drop a list of all of those folks' names into the lap of the NAACP along with our reasonings and how we took offense to their articles.
We might as well before the reviewers get the bright idea (and you KNOW some whiner will) to drop Bays name in the NAACP's lap.
I've got better things to do than hear the Revs. Jackson and Sharpton bitch about a movie I absolutly loved on the 6:00 news.
Let's launch a preemptive strike...

Wow, you are preaching to the CHOIR. First of all, I am black, and what offended me most of all about the film was the OVERT SEXUALITY AND PROFANITY in the film, not those dumbass Twins. They do Not reflect my 'culture' at all? As far as HipHop, they seemed to be satirizing this ridiculous mass pop/slang/youth culture as whole IMO???

The mom running around as a Reefer addict, the PSINU CAKE, That Pscyco-Fembot chasing Sam plot. (How many times can U refer to Balls and Testicles in one film?) So uneccessary...
One time is funny, 4x is stupid and lame...

I can totally see you in a room sitting behind your computer making a LOT of blind assumptions about Michael Bay and the way he treats minorities.
