Uh, you are actually dead wrong. The porn industry chose HD DVD as their next gen video format. It was actually reported recently on the Wall Street Journal's AM radio program(which I listen to daily)

On topic:

Bay's being incredibly childish. First no TF2 for him because no BluRay, now he retracts that. Ugh. I loved the movie, I like how he directed it, it wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed it. But if he's gonna play games like this, get rid of him. Who's to say he doesn't pull something like this again if he doesn't get his way. I wouldn't wait, cut him loose. Just if they do, hopefully, they get someone who want alter things much. While better plot and character development are a must, don't fiddle with the designs and such. I hate it when a franchise switches gears radically cuz someone else gets involved.

Wow..... less then 24 hours before a back pedal. That's got to be a record. Thanks for crushing my hopes of Transformers in a Transformers movie that look like Transformers again Bay. Bastard.

I think the best is to buy both platform player a HD-DVD and a Blu-ray player.

HAHAHAHA Despite how Bay phrases it why do I get the feeling that Spielberg and the rest of Dreamworks had a "heart to heart" with Bay. Evan if that isn't the case it is a good example why not to post so soon on your first reaction when you think you are the biggest dog on the film stage.

You guys can sit here sprouting all sorts of theories as to why he's back pedaled.

Yet as Paragon of Virtue pointed out, how many of us have made posts that we've regretted?

At least he had the balls to stand up and say "yeah, I made a mistake, I didn't think things through"

Well, if he directs TF2, i'm hoping that the designs will be slightly simplified. and less shakey camera. coz that seriously gave me quite a headache. (and preferably less TFs being killed by mere humans. and less human involvement. etc etc.)

The porn industry won't be as big a deal this time because you can get all the porn you want for free.

Also, porn industry in general isn't fond of HD anyway because herpes isn't that great to look at in 1080p.

Im indifferent towards Bay, its is inability to deliver a Transformers movie that I can savor and appreciate that I do not like. Im not pissed, just disappointed.

He was already gonna get a ridiculous payday and all creative control and he still wants more...Been telling you guys since day 1...This dude is a machine, a greased up engine in a human's body...I'm willing to take a stretch and say the only reason he did TF in the first place was some shady underhanded scheme to advance his stock in Blu-Ray...Yeah a reach but him turning down TF 2 and it's HUGE pay day for him points to something deeper, and that something isn't love for TF...

Like watching TF on regular DVD is $hit or something...I watch avi and mkv files online just as good if not better than DVD aswell...Lack of Blue-Ray ain't hurting peoples' experience in the end...

I think hes got the right idea, scew them if they wont have it on both formats, although it'll be a shame, hes an awesome director.

It really dosen't seem too hard to get into Bay's head. He just does what would put the most people in the theaters....lowest common denominator stuff....explosions, cool special effects, boobs, a touch of comedy, wide-scale end of the world scenarios, pro-US & pro-military themes,& a giant robot peeing on a government guy after seeing a dog do the same to his buddy.

Basically, if main-stream thinks it's cool, that's what he does.
