I personally like Micheal Bay's movies and i will tell anyone to piss off if they try to tell me otherwise.
However i think this is a bit stupid and a harsh knee-jerk decision to make just because his movie isnt being released on the lame, overkill, not needed Sony crap format that is Blu-ray.
Lets just clear one thing up though: Will Transformers be released on NORMAL DVD? The way these articles are worded it makes it sound as if there will be no NORMAL DVD release. If that happens i will have to kill someone, or worse still get a bootleg.
To start such a rumour is just cruel and ignorant and retarded because DVD hasnt been replaced yet, as few people actually have HD-DVD.

He did a nice job of playing around with the mythology, but he did some things that weren't exactly what the collective fandom wouldn't have wanted. Additionally, he really didn't include some things that would have been welcome. Think about this: Besides Prime and Bumblebee, was there any kind of character development for the other Transformers? Couldn't those characters have been Generic Autobots A-C and Generic Decepticons 1-4 or something? Could we have cut the 'hiding outside Sam's house' to 1/3 the length and developed these characters a bit?

That's pretty much my small, tiny little hope that I know will never happen. It would be nice to see even just a small retouching of the designs(namely the heads).
Anyway, I'm glad Bay is leaving. Even though I think in the end he pulled it off; I hated the way he got to it, and still don't like many of his decisions(*cough*head designs*cough*).
However, I AM afraid that we'll get some crappy director who absolutely sucks.

You can find that article that gives their reasons here http://www.aintitcool.com/node/33722 It says that the decision is not only for transformers but all paramount movies.
