I know what you mean, these guys are looking better and better upon every photo released. Those proto photos (try saying that after too many rum & cokes

) look especially nice!

I still feel a little sorry for Unique Toys and still hope they do ok through this. Worst case, UT could always sell copies of their molds to CHMS! :-?

I don't feel sorry for UT. I've seen quite a few posters state they are behind that project. MMC announced their project as early as July 2012 (TFCon), I don't remember even hearing about UT before that time. Also, the MMC designs just look better to me(and seemingly will be larger figures, so more bang for your buck).

What I do like about UT is that there has been talk about one of the designers (the head?) taking a more proactive role in quality management of the figures before leaving the factory. Also, it seems there's been further tweaking to the mold (POSSIBLY based on forum comments) to fix the cannon positioning for the gestalt mode. I feel bad for those who have already purchased WarHawk and are disappointed with him. I also wonder if any second runs of that figure will have better quality control or if the market is simply stuck with what's available now.

This is such an interesting development, having multiple companies/groups working on the same figure/set. There's a lot of taking sides and unnecessary vitriol on these forums, but if UT takes the appropriate steps I think they'll come out selling enough figures to make it worth the effort. As it stands, we might get the first two figures of War Lord before we even get the first Feral Rex member. Depending on release dates (and priorities of other purchasing needs), it might be reasonable to pick up one figure from each company on alternating months. But my plan is to stick w/MMC and keep a watch on UT's project, maybe picking up War Lord once all figures are completed. Again, it just depends on purchasing priorities at the time and the feedback on actual in-hand product from UT.

This, from a guy that has both Hercules and Giant (both yellow and green) in his collection. Seriously, just give us good product at (somewhat) justifiable rates. The great thing about MMC vs UT is that the $100 price point was killed off, whether temporarily or permanently. The new prices are more amicable.

So, back to Feral Rex - those prototypes are looking good!

I assumed they'd be releasing Divebomb first, since it was the first figure we saw and the first preorder we got. Ah well.

MMC made a post on Facebook announcing that Hexatron will be delayed due to an error in one of the molds.

We expect the delivery date will be postponed to end of May. (not too bad heh?)

Assuming they still plan to keep their Predaking releases after Sixshot, this will have an effect on us, we might not see the first Predaking figure until June at the earliest.

The insight given to us about the changing designs is cool and very appreciated. Knowing that they've made the changes they have means I can be a little more patient as to how long they're taking.

Still can't wait though. =P~

I struggle to keep track of who brought what gestalt set (Herc v Giant etc), but even without the discount these guys put TFC to shame. Talon and Bovis together cost $200 just like two of TFC's voyagers and these guys are big voyagers, almost ultra sized. So anyone who has gone in on Herc and Uranos are getting a much better deal here. UT may have dropped their prices somewhat, but $75 - $85 for (what I believe are) deluxe class toys is just way too much, MMC's prices are spot on for what we should be getting.

If the quality of these guys is what we hope it will be, then (for me at least) MMC will be the 3P company that every other company will be judged against

Some parts, like the heels and shoulders pictured below remind me that this is MMC style work, and these pieces will be more like works of fine art than toys.

MMC's stuff often has small, breakable bits with which you need to be very careful.

I'm by no means rough with my figures (any gentler and I wouldn't touch them until they'd told me they're OK with it) but I'm really nervous about those shoulder joints on Bovis. And Fortis(?) is going to share a similar design? Four opportunities to be devastated.

The crotch armour/shield seems like a cheap cop-out, but I'm OK with it, especially when Leo's lion mode looks so imposing.
