I was looking ahead to some of the Planet Steel Express (PSX) exclusives from MMC and decided to register an account there. While browsing, I came across release dates that differ from those on MMC's website. Here's what I found:

Fortis: December 15, 2013

Leo Dux: December 25, 2013

Talon: January 25, 2014

Now, PSX might be basing this on when they receive the product after it is shipped to them. But, somehow I don't think so...

Isn't PSX MMC's "official" web store?

This is good news. I had no idead,MMC was going to rush the releases of the other 4 Predacons. I thought each new Predacon was getting releasesd 3 months apart from each other.

I was debating on waiting to see if BBTS offers a $100 off on all buying all 5 at once deal. Like BBTS did with most of the TFC combiners. I should have pounced on that early pre-order sale price BBTS had.

Hopefully MMC does release all Five Predacons before March. Because I really want that Carnifex Overlord to get released before the 3rd quarter of 2014. Hopefully MMC doesn't delay Carnifex in favor of something newer & less desirable. like MMC did with Hexatron & the War within Seekers.

It's been months since MMC teased that art pic of Carnifex. If they expect buyers to wait Two maybe Three years for the toy to get released. Can MMC at least tease each month by giving art sketches,CGI concepts & test shots each month. At the very least can buyers get a few art sketches of the alt modes & robot standing up as a early 2013 christmas present.

That seems like wishful thinking to me. We have Azalea & friends (fembots) slated before Carnifex, I think.

I doubt we'll get Carnifex before Q4 2014 (it will probably be even later).

It seems like MMC's biggest failure is releasing all the inferior, small cheaply made stuff before they tackle the superior big awesome stuff.

With so many 3rd party fembots out there & hasbro creating a arcee in 2014. I think the fans can handle a delay for MMC Azaela while Carnifex gets pushed up in production.

Um....what? We have Hexatron. We have the Predacons on the way. Are you still complaining that the Knight Morpher stuff came out first? It was all announced long before the Reformatted line.

Tsutsukakushi wrote:With so many 3rd party fembots out there & hasbro creating a arcee in 2014. I think the fans can handle a delay for MMC Azaela while Carnifex gets pushed up in production.

Maybe, but the whole reason that MMC is releasing the fembots is due to fan interest from a while back. They were going to let these sit, and a bunch of us said, "hell no! We want them now!" (Yes, I was included in that.) Now, since Has/Tak has announced Arcee, maybe attitudes would be different. on the other hand, I believe most of the tooling might already be done for a Q1 2014 release by MMC.

I think PSX is like Fans Project Core: there is a loose relationship, but might not be the same people. I don't remember for sure. PSX does sell other Transformers items, including some Has/Tak product, I believe.

So the only massed release figure/mold is the one you don't like, while the unreleased ones look the best?

I might be off base here, but it seems like you're getting your hopes up. Those heightened expectations might ruin the figures for you once you have them in-hand. Be careful...

Bovis has been out for a few months now, Fortis SHOULD be shipping (any day) now. Remember, it was Jan 2013 when the preorders first came up. I'm not going to sweat this.

The only difference is they added "Expected release date" in front of the actual dates. But these haven't changed since I posted the original update back on Nov 27th.

Bovis has been out already for over Two months now. Fortis shouldn't have taken this long to get released since it shares the same mold as Bovis. With some resculpted parts.

If Fortis is taking this long to get released and it's a remold. I fear how long MMC will take to release the other Three figures that are all newer molds.

What I dislike about Bovis is the ugly face sculpt,it's the ugliest of the lot.

When in Predaking mode. I think the lower legs towards the back & from the sides have too much kibble. As Predaking's lower legs Fortis & Bovis needed more bulk or kibble in the front,To offset all that kibble on the back & sides.

Since Fortis & Bovis share the same mold,if you dislike one mold then your gonna dislike both.

I have seen enough youtube videos that have shown Leo Dux,Talon & Tigris in all there modes. What I saw I liked.

I quite disagree. I find the face sculpt one of the best features of the mold. I haven't seen the others in person yet to judge if it really is the ugliest. Personally, it doesn't matter because it's an awesome expression that absolutely captures this character's...well, character!

Tsutsukakushi wrote:When in Predaking mode. I think the lower legs towards the back & from the sides have too much kibble. As Predaking's lower legs Fortis & Bovis needed more bulk or kibble in the front,To offset all that kibble on the back & sides.

The kibble comment directed to the back of the legs is well justified. I don't like it much, but I guess it doesn't bother me because the overall figure looks to be so awesome. But just to be clear, you are suggesting that more kibble be placed in the lower legs? I really have no idea what you consider good looking. Image

Tsutsukakushi wrote:Since Fortis & Bovis share the same mold,if you dislike one mold then your gonna dislike both.

Not necessarily. While I like the mold for a bull, I don't think it is great for a Rhino. Perhaps when I get it in hand and I see how they incorporated the upside down torso I will change my mind. I actually found one of the other Rhinos to be more in line with looking like a rhino. (I think it was the fourth Predaking...the one without any test shots yet, just line drawings. Was that MakeToys?) So it is possible to dislike one over the other. Plus there are other differences that can cause dislike, like the heads and faces... (Just to be clear, I'm not bothered enough by what I mentioned here to actually dislike one over the other. Just making a point.)

Tsutsukakushi wrote:I have seen enough youtube videos that have shown Leo Dux,Talon & Tigris in all there modes. What I saw I liked.

Yeah, but there have not yet been final test shots done. Talon in particular has gone through several revisions and looks very different in some aspects to the initial prototypes. The most recent prototypes of Talon and Tigris look promising, but I'd like to see some full color shots.

Also, in regards to your complaints about the delay in shipping Fortis, did you see the QC complaints about Bovis's elbow? I actually applaud MMC for fixing this, if that was the cause of the delay, especially if it only results in a four week delay. One cannot fault MMC and their attention to quality. (And we pay for it too, don't we?) I guess we'll find out when we get them in the wild.

I think MMC figured for now it would be best to update Fortis' expected ship date and not touch the remaining figures' dates until they have a better idea. I am in favor of the possibility that MMC postponed shipment of Fortis IF they were tackling the elbow issue (or any other QC issue).

This may not be popular with some of you, but I always though that the almost monthly release schedule was a little too rushed. I'm okay with a bi-monthly release, if that's what will happen in actuality. Again, at least the first figure is out and we're sooooo close to having the second figure in our hands.

Two other positives out of a delayed release: 1). the bank's not dry yet and 2). gives us time to actually play with the standalone figure and appreciate it.

So for Bovis is there a trick to lock in it's front legs in Beast mode? I can't seem to get them to lock in. used a lot of force too. most of the transformation is smooth and seamless which makes me think there's got to be a trick? anything?

thanks in advance.
