Also if this is to be a new start for the Masterpiece line then I hope they get rid of the boring black boxes and introduce some character related colours to liven them up.

I'm not taking anything away from this new mold, it's gorgeous... but I don't completely understand how it is more true to the animation model or how it has less kibble? While the truck mode is much better than MP01, I feel like robot mode MP01 is closer to the animation and MP10 appears to have more kibble on the legs?

I wish his knees were higher and his arms shorter, but otherwise he looks great, not the 2050 bucks kind of great, though.

Yea, there are somethings I dislike more now that I've looked at the pics longer. That junk on his legs does look kind of bad.

Agreed... I'm not usually one to critize being as I have no engineering skills whatsoever, but I wonder that they wouldn't have been able to make the rear wheels fold back behind his leg to make his lower legs a bit less wide.

That's what I was thinking of while I was reading all the posted comments. My understanding was that MP-01L was to be the last Prime fans would see now this? I did consider to get MP-01L but after looking at what MP-10 has to offer and how tight everything looks in both modes, well gundam he is a must have....'nuff said!

MP-01L was the last go-'round for the MP-01 mold....

I agree with other posters that this line is suffering from Prime burnout. When the Masterpiece line was first announced I had high hopes for it. That was before every other offering was a Prime repaint/remold/rehash. The Seekers I can obviously understand; they had to be repaints. But at least they were different characters. Like others I was praying for someday having Soundwave (with cassettes) and more Dinobots. Instead, Takara locked onto one character's status and popularity and ran it into the ground. The mold does look good and has innovations over the original, but that's just not enough for me to justify $250.

This is a rounded out and perfected upscale version of the controversial THS-02.

They definitely fixed everything that sucked on the THS-02, but that still isn't reason enough to issue this toy, push it up to $250 and call it a MP-10.

I mean, it's not even worth of a MP toyline reboot, but alas, they did it.

The only way this thing will be as cool as TakTomy suppose it is is when they pair it with a perfect scaled and designed Megatron in the same size class as MP-10.

Other than that, I am a MP freak/completist and will definitely buy it, but realistically, it is not worth the price tag nor the circumstance it's being released within.

I like it, and I have not yet canceled my preorder.

I'll do some size comparisons when I get home.

I REALLY like the alt mode.
The bot mode is very good, but I prefer the look of MP-01 in that mode.
The "abs" on this one just look wrong somehow, and I don't like the wheel covers on the legs.

We'll see as it gets closer to release if I keep the preorder.

With an upcoming Magnus, I'm tempted to still get him.

Has there been any chatter about other redesigns of existing MPs? Megatron Maybe?

Buying this comes down to quality for me. If it's truely a display quality piece as the first version was, I'll consider it. If it's a light-weight, overly complicated toy with similar issues to that of MP-09, it's a no.

Looks nice though, much better than I expected.

I will readily admit that I rolled my eyes at the prospect of another MP Optimus Prime. I AM disappointed it isn't Powermaster Prime. This looks good though and I can guarantee I'll have some release of it. My biggest complaint here is that with Prime being more in scale to the majority of the line, one has to assume a smaller Megatron and Ultra Magnus would be in the works. Kinda irked about having to replace those considering the costs are so high for the line in the first place. Not to mention, this guy has got a huge price point to begin with.

That is definitely a step down from MP-01. Quite frankly, it's ugly. Especially compared to the original. And for $275? Not even $75. The truck mode, i will admit is slightly, and I mean slightly better, if only for the front fitting together better. Of course, the trailer is a plus. Still not worth $275, unless it combines into Powermaster Prime. Even then I wouldn't pay more than $200 for it.

Now that we saw the images, this MP10 is both an excitement and a disappointment for me. I love the realistic vehicle mode w/ trailer and roller, Spike be able to place inside the truck, and gun housing at his back. The robot mode is a disappointment in some ways. I do not like the lower leg kibble - side panel and wheels extrude out like that. It looks awful. Also the slightly off proportion in length of the arm, lower leg, and the atrocious price do not help MP10 as well.

I'll likely to get him because I don't have MP4. I will display MP10 in vehicle mode while MP1 in robot mode. Overall, MP10 is nice, it's just not perfect.

I'm just curious what's that little hole at the back of the thigh? A connection for future Ultra Magnus/Powermaster Prime armor to be plugged on? That would be neat.

Argh... I really don't want to replace my current MP Prime - he's served me so well over the years, and he's one of my favourite figures. On the other hand, this figure looks to be in better scale with my Classics collection/MP Seekers, and the truck mode looks AMAZING. Plus, he comes with a trailer, and I still haven't gotten one for my Prime.

So confused! If I do get him, it won't be in this year, thanks to DOTM, driving lessons and replacement PS3s sucking the money out of me.

I've noticed something. Does anyone think the arms are mistransformed on these photos? It looks like the upper section of the mid section (does that even make sense? lol) can retract into the shoulder - the round hole means that posability wouldn't be affected, either.

I could, of course, be massively wrong as always.

It looks nice..

..but i'm mostly disappointed with this. As others have mentioned, his legs just dont look quite right and he has gorilla arms! it looks like they reach down to his knees! otherwise everything else looks good but its been done before. i really wish they had gone with power master prime.

With the price tag being as it is, this wont see my collection at all unless it goes down.
