Apparently Megatron getting the allspark is the spoiler here, and UM's colour scheme was the spoiler to his death in the show.

I mean your Doubledealer idea would only work if that's what happened in Kingdom otherwise what's the point?

That basically was the point, if the show could have been written so that DD survives the explosion at the end of ER and has at least a bit part in Kingdom, IMHO it would have been far better than what we are getting. Just re emphasizing that the "spoiler" boxes being beholden to the plot of the show is kind of dumb, especially since they really have no bearing on it.

I mean I seriously doubt the Purple Paleotrex will be in the show. I've heard someone comment it was supposed to homage the actual fossil that was scanned when BW Megatron was reformatted on earth.

Not a head scratcher. Part of the show is that BB is good at sniffing out Energon among the wasteland. This is an interpretation of that,

Rusticon looks nice, they need to use that rust detailing on an eventual AOE Optimus Prime for SS.

quint drone looks neat, like the paint effects.

Cheetor is OK.

Deep Cover is so different from the other, they should have given that repaint a whole new name, but looks good.

Primal and Rattrap seem to be wasted, they could have done much more with them.

Shitstorm looks neat, but I wanted it to have the same paint scheme as Rusticon.

Leader box is disappointing as expected, only cool thing in it is the matrix bandolier.

Not going to get any of these either

It's history repeating itself and they clearly didn't learn the lesson we thought they did. The Ultra Magnus set was a failure, Walmart quickly clearanced it and Hasbro made it available to other online stores for the same clearance price ($35). Also remember: Ultra Magnus both had a concurrent toy out (AND one upcoming with Kingdom) and offered nothing new besides new effect parts. Magnus himself was also a full-blown leader instead of a voyager

The Purpletrex and additional accessories are far more than what Magnus had, plus there is no current Megatron out unless your store is still clocking the Earthrise one

I'd wager this being two toys already inches it above Nemesis Prime, which felt like a 30 dollar toy with 30 dollars of fluff

Apparently the Play-Doh thing was a decision that moved the guy's career up the ranks. Maybe it was done to offload some extra Play-Doh batches that Hasbro needed to get rid of before the Narcs bust in.

No, that is a bad idea. Its a bit hard to chew and makes you get a bit drooly, and when you eventually drool onto your nice shirt it will ruin it.

Well sure, I already said Magnus was a failure. And none of my local stores got Earthrise Voyager wave 3, had to get him and the Quintesson Judge online.

I disagree there and that's coming from someone that already has the Takara Tomy version and PotP Nemesis Prime, Leader Optimus Prime, and Slitherfang. Whether it's "fluff" or not, it's still had contents with a value that exceeded the price point. A Voyager figure ($30), a trailer ($20), a Battlemaster ($5), and "compound" with 3 Energon cubes ($5) already takes us to the $60 price point and is basically what we got from Magnus, but we also got two giant smoke stacks/guns, Ginza sword bird, and Dark Saber. That's a lot!

Seriously, they could have skipped the play-doh concept. It would have been better for the environment, less packaging, a lighter box to ship, and it could have allowed for a more relevant accessory.
Seriously, that stinky and stainy crap went straight to the garbage bin and I just can't imagine what mess it can make if a child play with that stuff. At least legit play-doh is clean and smell normal.

Yeah, I gave it straight to my daughter. She put them in a ziplock bag, but hasn't touched them since (she's a bit of a hoarder) . I was never much of a fan of play-doh even as a kid. I occasionally worked with modeling clay at school, but that's a whole different thing. I don't want to gross anyone out, but yeah, the whole thing should have been skipped. For anyone who is a parent out there, it just reminded me of the very first couple diaper changes of a newborn.... yuck.

I'm thankful to finally have Netflix Soundwave in my collection. It's a pretty amazing retool, honestly. The conversion is very different from the Siege version, but it manages to make a pretty convincing tape recorder mode. The G1 version may looks slight more "realistic" and the Masterpiece version is cleaner, but bulky. This one finally gives as an affordable Soundwave figure, with his G1 alt mode, with great detail and articulation, at the cost of just a touch of robot kibble in alt mode. The robot mode is nearly perfect. The only thing it's really lacking would be a few paint apps, like the red pin stripes for the batteries/blasters and matching shades of yellow/gold for the tape door and chest stripes. As it is, though, the yellow and gold paints don't clash as much in hand as the stock photography makes it look. Now, all we need is a redeco of Netflix Laserbeak as Buzzsaw, and we'll be set with Soundwave for quite a while to come, I believe.

In an uncharacteristic move, one of my local Wal-Marts actually stocked the wave 3 deluxes, so I stumbled across a Cheetor last night. His colors look really nice in-hand, especially the darker blue. But his cheetah mode absolutely steals the show, it's fantastic. Almost none of the robot is visible, especially since they didn't paint his legs blue. It was a sacrifice I can live with to improve his better mode.

Cheetor was the only one I really wanted from this wave, so wave 3 is officially complete for me. I didn't think I'd find him this quick.

On a side note, both his thigh swivels were slightly mis-molded out of the box. They mostly fixed themselves after a few good turns, though.

Those deep blues look so dope. These specific shades remind me of the Universe 2 Cheetor (the best thing about that figure seems to be the colours).

I skipped out on normal Cheetor in the hopes of getting a deeper colour redeco, so here's to hoping I can track one down, but knowing my luck with exclusives...

People were complaining at the lack of deco for Cheetor since he no longer has as much blue. But I see why, it's so that the cheetah mode looks better since you get a uniform yellow without seeing the blue in alt mode.

Honestly, the way I display my figures, I can probably just stick Core Rattrap in front of Netflix Cheetor and hide his unpainted robot legs. From the waist up, Netflix Cheetor looks great. We'll still need a third go at repainting this mold, though, for a perfect robot mode. It's not just the blue on the legs that's missing, but the bronze/gold highlights on the arms, thighs, helmet, and the inner shoulders of the cheetah mode.

Being a stickler for show-accuracy, I thought the lack of blue on his legs would bother me, but the more I look at Netflix Cheetor's deco, the more it doesn't bother me. That deeper blue and sharper golden yellow is gorgeous.

Where do you live? I thought maybe distribution to my area had improved, but in the last couple weeks, there hasn't been enough to say that; seems like multiple stores in my area are below average in their stock.

I'm in Phoenix, Arizona. And from what I gather, I live in one of the better-stocked parts of town.
