I mean your Doubledealer idea would only work if that's what happened in Kingdom otherwise what's the point?

That was my first thought actually, but at the $60 Price Point, they would have to cut the compound and Energon Cubes.
Oh nooooo, not the playdooooohhhhhh
....
Seriously, that stinky stainy Play-Doh is one hell of a head-scratcher.

It's history repeating itself and they clearly didn't learn the lesson we thought they did. The Ultra Magnus set was a failure, Walmart quickly clearanced it and Hasbro made it available to other online stores for the same clearance price ($35). It looked like they learned their lesson the second time by giving us a new character (Nemesis Prime) and a bunch of extras to ramp up the value. Megatron feels like a real step backwards. Megatron alone is a disappointment being barely different from the first Siege Netflix repaint, Paleotrex is nice and clearly what Hasbro is banking on being the big selling point. That's $30 for Megatron and $23 for Paleotrex leaving $7 to makeup. Are the Matrix, tiny Allspark, and two little effect parts worth $7? I doubt it.
And the real kicker is we don't even know if this represents an actual scene in the show or if it's just another vision of a potential future like Nemesis Prime.

The Ninja Turtles live in the sewers yet the figures don't come with sewage samples.
I imagine they did that so people who didn't want zombies could buy him and pretend he's a regular Seeker. And if so, it worked, because that's why I'm buying him. Gonna call him Skyquake, I think.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Shitstorm looks neat, but I wanted it to have the same paint scheme as Rusticon.

Not yet they don't.
Apparently the Play-Doh thing was a decision that moved the guy's career up the ranks. Maybe it was done to offload some extra Play-Doh batches that Hasbro needed to get rid of before the Narcs bust in.

I look at it as getting a snack with your toy, something to tide you over while you play.

Also remember: Ultra Magnus both had a concurrent toy out (AND one upcoming with Kingdom) and offered nothing new besides new effect parts. Magnus himself was also a full-blown leader instead of a voyager
The Purpletrex and additional accessories are far more than what Magnus had, plus there is no current Megatron out unless your store is still clocking the Earthrise one
I'd wager this being two toys already inches it above Nemesis Prime, which felt like a 30 dollar toy with 30 dollars of fluff

His colors look really nice in-hand, especially the darker blue. But his cheetah mode absolutely steals the show, it's fantastic. Almost none of the robot is visible, especially since they didn't paint his legs blue. It was a sacrifice I can live with to improve his better mode.
Cheetor was the only one I really wanted from this wave, so wave 3 is officially complete for me. I didn't think I'd find him this quick.
On a side note, both his thigh swivels were slightly mis-molded out of the box. They mostly fixed themselves after a few good turns, though.

I saw these three today. If I didn't already have Kingdom Cheetor I would have bought Netflix Cheetor but the paint differences are not enough to double-dip alone and without a pack in like wave 1 and 2 to convince me otherwise he was left behind. Same with the Sparkless. He could be a failed clone of ER Barricade while my Siege Barricade is the successful one, but I have a feeling he will be sticking around a while. The Deseeus Drone looks cool and has a unique faction symbol so he came home with me today.

Hey AronJ,
Where do you live? I thought maybe distribution to my area had improved, but in the last couple weeks, there hasn't been enough to say that; seems like multiple stores in my area are below average in their stock.
