Still waiting for that YF-19A though...

Come on lottery...I need the money...

This is indeed good news that they are going to do a 1/60th YF-21. I jsut hope they can overcome the MAJOR issues that plagued the 1/72nd YF-21. The first version was way too bulky and boxy, the fast pack version the figter mode was improved TREMENDOUSLY, however the Gerwalk version in both modes sucked and couldnt stay standing 95% of the time )sometimes you could get it to stand, but the slightest vibration would tip it. And the Battroid version was kind of a birck...very uneventful. Both my first version and fastpacked version stay in Fighter mode.

As for the VF-19A and VF-22 Sturmvogel...c'mon we're talking about Yamato here... KING of repaint. The market is there for repaints in this line of figures.

Alright, I'm back!

TF has been kind of boring lately, so I went in another direction, and I can thank Sci Fi Anime Monday for it. Saw Macross Plus #4, and decided I had to have the YF-19! So I bought the 1/60th version with fold booster. I love the jet mode, but it's hanging out in robot mode now.

Also, I went looking for Macross/Robotech DVD's locally. Found a couple, but nothing complete.

So do you recommend the Macross Re-masters, the Robotech: Next Generation, Macross Plus, or what as good to watch shows?

Well, I own Macross Plus now, and Robotech Next Generation, but what else should I nab?

Battroid toy wise, what do you recommend are must haves? Size or scale that is the best? Must have character versions of the Battroids? Must have models of them? I'd prefer them to be transformable--you know--it seems appropriate.

Thanks ACS, et al. My Stealth w/Fast pack now has company.

well, if you like Plus, you could try downloading Zero.it`s got a higher combat ratio and less singing but it does make for VERY nice combat scenes.as for mecha...well...I personally tend to stick to the 1/60 scale and have two VF-0's(third should be arriving this week)the YF-19 and seven VF-1's(two A, two J, an S and a broken S and another J for customs)though I also stray to other scales having the Toynami 1/100 series except for the SDCC 1S, a VB-6(also 1/100) a VF-17S, and a 1/48 VF-1S with Strike armor, a 1/72 YF-21 with FASTpacks, two VF-11B's(one broken but am working on fixing it)and a VF-19A.I also have a VF-19 Custom "Fire Valkyrie" in the mail and a preorder for the SV-51 Gumma Ivanov.

Thanks, all the letters and numbers kind of flew over my head, as I do not know the models well enough yet, but thanks for sharing, nonetheless.

Are the transforming 1/100s any good? And where did you a YF-21 at?

the Toynami 1/100's are pretty good yeah although admittedly the second series is tighter then the first though the first wasn`t too bad either. and as for my 1/72 YF-21 with FAST packs...well, I got it at Archonia but they`re out of stock too now.

I would agree that the Toynami 1/100's are pretty cool for their size. I still need to get the J Wave 2, but so far I am impressed with them.

As for the YF-21, it is made by Yamato and is 1/72nd scale, which is the same size as the 1/60th VF-1 series. The reason why they are the same size is because the YF-21, YF-19 and VF-11B are bigger aircraft then the VF-1 so the 2 scales match each other in height.

I have gotten most of my collection off of Ebay. And there are a few YF-21's on Ebay right now....check it target="_blank">out.

So i finally decided i'm going to cave and buy the 1/48 super valk vf-1j max jenius sets from bbts...my question is should i be concerned about preordering it? Do these usually sell out quickly?

also, does anybody have both the max and miria versions(these have both been released before, correct? If so could i get a couple comparison pics so i can make sure i am buying the one that i like better.

I would go for it, Idon't know how long they will last before selling out. It won't be right away but eventual;y it will like the Strike VF-1J.

I have the Super Miria because red is my fav color and I always liked her. They are both the exact same thing, the only difference is Max is blue. I will be getting the Max soon, so unfortunetly I can't do a comparrison shot. I would just go for the color you like.

I have a detailed photo gallery of my 1/48th Super VF-1J Miria here. I lost the pics for Battroid mode but if you keep strolling you can see the Batrroid on the Strike Stealth photogallery.

Yay, the forum is no longer stretched!

I am so trying not to buy lots of Macross stuff. The YF-21 is cool. But is it worth $180 MISB?

Also, I was looking at the YF-19A. How's that different from my YF-19 1/60th? They appear to be different colors, and probably sizes, but in what story is 19A used? Is it Plus also, or is it just a repaint not seen in the show? :???:

IIRC the VF-19A is from VF-X-2, a japanese game with lots of valkyrie models in it. and I can garantee, the 1/72 and the 1/60 are WORLDS apart.

So being worlds apart, are you saying that the 1/60 is better, or the 1/72?

1/60 is way better, it`s more accurate to the design as shown in Plus and easily surpasses the 1/72 in articulation. in fact, I`ll show you a pose of my 1/60 YF-19 that the 1/72 just can`t pull off.

If you wanna save money then just focus on the 1/48 or giant sized line since that's like their Masterpiece line. I would wait to get the 1/60 scale YF-21 just because it's going to be so much better. Heck I would wait for the release with fast packs just to be safe.

For the person on the fence about getting a VF-1J Max, GET HIM NOW! The price will go up quite quickly. I paid $400 for mine USED. Trust in the Chuck.

I knew it was a bad idea to get started into something else. I will certainly avoid that particular Variable Fighter.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I have a whole two right now 1/48th stealth with fast pack, and the 1/60th YF-19 with Foldbooster. So at least I'm buying the right ones.

Im kind of late to the discussion, but yes the 1/48th line of the VF-1's and the 1/60th line for the macross Plus and Zero series are the way to go. The 1/60th figures for the VF-1 and the 1/72nd figures for the Plus and Zero are all metal and just arnt really proportinoned right, also the metal kind of stresses the joints into being loose.

The bigger versions are definetly the way to go TT.

Just about true in all facets of collecting, life,etc... fortunate and unfortunate as that is.

But $200+ per fig makes me cry when I think about how cool they are.

Yea I know... And I have like 3 on my list to get now. I need to get the 1/48th Super VF-1J Max, the 1/60th SV-51 and possibly a Second 1/60th YF-19 but this time with the fastpack and fold booster. And then there is the 1/60th VF-0S with Ghost..... GAWD

Not to mentio0n I now have my eyes on the BT Clear Mirage, Alt Hot Rod and MP3 Soundwave.... I have no flipping clue what to prioritize and what I want most. But I can maybe only aquire one of these Macross figures a month and perhaps one of the Transformers with it.

I think I will get Max's Super VF-1J first.

Can I just add that these figures while expensive do appreciate in value far quicker than any Transformer. These are more investment pieces than toys. I will never sell any of my TF's but I can see myself selling my VF-1 uhh no not that one maybe my YF- nahh not that one either... uh you guys get my point right?

It's good to know that they appreciate in value well. But obviously they would be hard to part with, like a lot of toys that we make the choice to buy.
