The episode Disaster.
Generations.
Nemesis.
Okay, I know the helm was offline in Generations, and she was ordered to ram the ship in Nemesis, but it's just a little running joke I like that Troi crashes the ship everytime she drives it..
Its been a long time since I've seen that episode but I dont think she was driving, She want even in command at the time of the crash,She asumed command after because she was the highest ranking officer at the time.Insurgent wrote:As for the whole Enterprprise A thing, I always figured the A was one of the last Constitution class ships that were under construction and they decided to rename it the A in honour of Kirk and the amount of times the original Enterprise had saved the day. It was decomishioned after only seven years because the technology in it had become obsolete due to the new Excelsior class becomming commonplace now, and having the flagship as such an old thing was not a very good public image. Perhaps they always intended for the next Enterprise to be an Excelsior class, but as the Excelsior itself was in the final testing phases, they just gave Kirk the old design until the new one was ready..
But why would an other Constitution class ship named Yorktown be under construction when there was already one of the same class in service??????[quote]
I thought Troi was in command then as Picard was off with those kids in the turbolift, and I forget where Riker went, but I'm sure Troi was the one in command when it crashed. It has been a while since I saw that ep, I'll go check.
And I never said the ship that was renamed was originally the Yorktown. Other sources are saying it is, but I didn't in my first post. Although having it as the Yorktown, and getting it repaired from damage from the Probe does make sense.
Favourite phasers? 2287. It's so agressive looking. It looks like it could kill you. I also like the Klingon disrupter pistols. And the First Contact rifles. There is also a certain elegance about the Klingon Bird of Prey's wing mounted disrupters.
I don't know how you could aim the TNG 'wand' phaser accuratly. Your hand is in an unnatural position for aiming for a start.

I found this on another board and I thought it should be posted here
Obviously it'll never happen, but if you could have picked ONE ST series to go on for one more season, which would it be and what would you want to happen in it?
Enterprise season 5
TOS season 4
TNG season 8
DS9 season 8
Voyager season 8

I wouldnt mind an other season of Enterprise....if it were done right. The other series had very good endings.I would have loved to see a DS9 movie but they desided to go with a new movie with the charactors from TOS

DS9 ran its course and bowed out gracefully. TNG also got seven seasons. Voyager didn't deserve what it got, and neither did Enterprise.
So....TOS it is! It was cancelled before its time!

Because there are so many more stories that could have been told (I've never seen the animated series, so I dont know what really happened there) We could see the continuation and/or conclusion of Kirk's 5-year mission and his promotion to the admiralty could've been the series finale.
That show just got cut off abruptly, while the other ones were given a proper wrap-up since it was planned, sorta for Enterprise

I can't imagine how mad I would've been had DS9 been killed off abruptly. That's just WRONG! It was so great how nicely they wrapped it up.
Oh well, at least TOS got a bunch of movies, even if they started to resemble a Depends commercial towards the end.

I dont know, I originally thought it would be about the Romulan war. I was looking forward to that. A new crew, new talent and a Daedalus class ship
Then I heard they wanted to put Ben Affleck in there and thought, great, star power, it'll get sales but be crappy
Now this? how Kirk and Spock hook up in the academy?

Please...don't say Ben Affleck..all I've heard is that JJ Abrams is attached to it and that the guy who plays Sylar or whatever in Heroes is definitely playing Spock.

Well this is from a leaked script I read and I cant tell you that it is for real....JJ Abrams has a habit of using di-information to keep people interested.
What I've read basicly gos like this........Old Spock, while on Romulus becomes aware of a plot to send someone back in time to kill Kirk before he takes comand of the Enterprise and to kill young Spock as well. The idea is that Romulan high comand believes that with out Kirk or Spock the Fedaration would not have become the super-power it is.Old Spock trys to stop the plan to send someone back in time so he go's back in time aswell to prevent Kirk and his younger self from being Killed.Old Spock gets Killed while trying to save his younger self [played by the guy who plays Skler on Heroes] but not before they can mind meld.So young Spock with the information he got from older Spock seek out young Kirk to save him and they become fast friends.
Now the one good thing about this script is that if history is changed [like in Enterprise] it wouldnt matter......with all this time traveling you would expect history to change.

My husband will boycott it if it involves time travel.
Sounds interesting...if it's true, I wonder when Old Spock takes place. I think Sylar guy seems like a good choice, but I'm wondering who Kirk will be...hopefully someone relatively unknown, and definitely no Ben Affleck to stink up the movie! That guy is poison to the box office! I wonder if they'll have Pike in there.

The idea is Mat Damond for spock and Tom Cruz for Pike. And Old Spock is from the time line that TNG DS9 and Voyerger are from.

Damn, they couldn't afford all this starpower! They need to stick with Sylar and some unknowns and other actors that have done characters in ST, but wouldn't necessarily be recognizable to the general public (but would be great for fans!). Besides, Trek likes to recycle their actors.
