Welcome to the General Discussion area where just about anything goes! This area is designed to discuss all matters and does not necessarily have to be Transformers related. Please keep topics relevant.

Wow, time travel. Why are they doing this to the fans?

Pike would be interesting, he'd be just a tad older than kirk I think

Maybe they would put Robert April in there as the seasoned captain who takes Kirk under his wing?

They definitely need Pike. That would be awesome. If they really took this seriously and made a great script, I may just give it a real chance. Because the last two movies were pretty bad, and Star Trek needs a fresh breath of air. Having JJ Abrams aboard reassures me a lot.

Do you REALLY want to ask me that question?????Think about it.......if I didnt already know I could look it up in my Encyclopedia witch is sitting right in front of me.If you trust me.......it was the name given to the Captain of Gene Rodenbery's script for a new TV show about a space ship and it's crew........at the time the shows working title was "WAGON TRAIN TO THE STARS" and the ship was called the YORKTOWN.Funny thing,If you look up Captain Robert April in the ST Encyclopedia you will see a pic of Gene as Captain Robert April.
Since you are testing me let me ask you a question.......do you know why Data's creator DR.Noonien Soong had a simular name to Khan Noonien Singh?

What I've read basicly gos like this........Old Spock, while on Romulus becomes aware of a plot to send someone back in time to kill Kirk before he takes comand of the Enterprise and to kill young Spock as well. The idea is that Romulan high comand believes that with out Kirk or Spock the Fedaration would not have become the super-power it is.Old Spock trys to stop the plan to send someone back in time so he go's back in time aswell to prevent Kirk and his younger self from being Killed.Old Spock gets Killed while trying to save his younger self [played by the guy who plays Skler on Heroes] but not before they can mind meld.So young Spock with the information he got from older Spock seek out young Kirk to save him and they become fast friends.

Now the one good thing about this script is that if history is changed [like in Enterprise] it wouldnt matter......with all this time traveling you would expect history to change.

No kidding...
Of course he could pass a part of his consciousness to young Spock like he did with McCoy (of course McCoy got his whole katra "living spirit")..

I'd heard Nimoy was on to play a cameo as old Spock (jump for joy), and Matt Damon was to play young Kirk (shout expitatives in Klingon). None of this was confirmed, but I hope the Damon one is fake. That man has the most wooden acting in the history of wooden acting. As for that plot, well, sounds interesting. And as JJ is on it, I'm expecting it to be quality.

I wonder if there will be any cameo's/Easter egg references from Enterprise in this movie? :???:

Hell I don't know if I can see Spock dying for a second time

I thought his death would allways be offscreen

So if there are any new movies that feature TOS characters they will get killed off?

I mean Kirk died in Generations

Two of TOS cast are dead so you dont have to worry about seeing them die.........and there was a hint that Sulu survied long enough to sponser Chakotay entrance to the acadamy. So you only have to worry about Comanders Uhura,Chekov,Janice Rand and Dr.Christine Chapel.

I believe they discussed it in an episode of Enterprise where an ancestor of Soong's had a bunch of genetically engineered people, and then abandoned eugenics as the way to create the perfect life and switched to robotics.
However I doubt this is exactly what you are asking

I'm sure this ep was based on the concept that Khan was a product of the eugenics movement, the quest to create the perfect human, while Soong sought to create the perfect, ie human-like, android

He was to old for NAM.It was WW2.I dont remember if Gene him self saw any action in the war....but one of the cast from TOS did see a lot of action in WW2 and was disfigured in the war....do you know witch cast member??????

Hmmm, it wasnt Takei, cause he was in a camp

Im gonna go with DeForest Kelly or James Doohan

James Doohan is right.......he lost his right hands "bird flipping" finger.

Damn, i never knew that

Most fans dont cause he hid it really well....but their are a few episodes where you can see it.
