New Transformers Animated Scans!
WHY DO WE GO OUT OF OUR WAY TO DO KID FRIENDLY CARTOONS? WHATS WRONG WITH AN ADULT CARTOON? IT'S TIME FOR THEM TO GROW UP!

Oh no. They no longer Transform. They're some freaked up freaks, and they have no geometry that kids can look towards and see how they transform, yet, its just some freaky dudes running around. It's gonna be terrible, I can be for sure of that. I thought they would make a really accurate cartoon and all, but unfortunately, the latest accurate cartoon is Transformers: Cybertron, where they actually look like robots. Man, thats pathetic. The Japanese can make a really cool Transformers cartoon, but after how many years, and the Kor-I mean, Americans can't even make a decent Transformers cartoon since the original? Oh man, and even a toyline of these freaks? I'm ditching, fast.

Holy crap - can't belive this thread is still going. A whole 50 posts later - I just have top say to PM Jazz that if you haven't seen Samurai Jack or Clone Wars, you really have nothing to base such a strong opinion on. Thats judging a book by its cover - don't be that guy.
The pacing, action sequences and fight coreography in these shows is amazing - as are the stories. As far as the art, those who never gave it a chance really missed out. As an artist myself, I loved the simplicity and minimalism - the mood and color palates. It was like watching paintings come to life. Not everyone can get into this - but there is a reason those series have rabid fanbases of their own and that both series have one multiple Emmy awards and other acolades from the animation industry. Think of all the wonderfull things you'd never experience if you shut them down at first blush - girls and alchohol probably turned you off at first but I bet most of you couldn't live without either once you gave them a try. These shows are the shiznat. Do yourselves a favor and check out a few eps. In fact PM me and I'll recommend some. And then tell me you can't dig it.
If the new TFs end up sucking, I'll be right there with ya'll bitching. But Despite all the naysaying I'm going to hold out hope that Gendy Tarkovsky is a part of this project. If he is, I have a feeling we're all in for a surprise. Gendy is a straight up fanboy - he gets us and the source material - he won't let us down.

Not me... If I had wanted to watch crap swirling around in front of me day after day, I would have become a plumber...atleast then I'd be getting paid for it..
Stupid transformers and their swirling to transform themselves.. cartoon network idiots....
Also, I don't care about this cartoon, cause the Death of Superman is coming to DVD.. its gonna be the most action packed cartoon ever!!! and yeah so its got that animated style... its meant for that... Transformers aren't super heroes!!!!

Sweet!!!!
As a huge Superman fan I'll be getting this!!!

That's all well and good, but Gendy Tarkovsky is NOT involved with Transformers: Animated. He's busy working on Power of the Dark Crystal.
Alex Soto (Teen Titans, Ben 10) is in charge. Therein lies the large gap in quality. Samurai Jack and Clone Wars are in a whole other league over Teen Titans and Ben 10.

The image is horrifying enough, but that little blurb about the series itself is also troubling. The 'standalone storyline featuring everyday heroes who do good deeds that triumph over evil' bit gives me the awful feeling that this is gonna be some kind of non-coherent Captain Planet-esque cartoon (not to knock the Captain, but it's the best example I can think of). The whole family-friendly bit is nice, but, c'mon, if you can't even have as much edge as Energon / Cybertron had...what's the point? Other than to have Powerglide tell you not to litter and Smokescreen warn you about the dangers of talking to strangers.
Edit: Wow, I only read what was on the front page...my point was probably already summed up in the 50+ pages of extra comments that followed.

Umm...yes...Prime looks...well... err...no
Some of you guys said that we shouldn't judge this cartoon by it's look but you are right if you expect this cartoon to be next Johnny Prime cartoon
I think even Japanese are laughing. I should go watch some Armada episodes to calm down...

so each episode is its own separate story, no story arc that covers multiple episodes?

As soon as I heard that they'd tapped the guy that created "Beast Machines" I knew the franchise was doomed. Reminds me of M.C. Hammer's failed cartoon... Dare I mention "Hammer-Man"?
Spectacular Spider-man is a better written, better animated show and has a better theme song... Hands down!
