Not entirely sure why the base price changes depending on where its shipped, if they still add on shipping separately. But it does.

It appears the price for the U.S is in fact 8917 Yen.

Odd it would change based on where its being shipped. But such is life.

Still cheaper through AmiAmi regardless.

Still way too absurd of a price though. Better just get the vanilla Siege or Netflix version. He's still available like plague rats and I have a still a spare sealed Siege myself.

Already have the Netflix Magnus. The only thing I like about this version is the gray evil looking unarmored Magnus. But not for that price. I can happily skip it. Besides I still want to get a cheap Kingdom Magnus just for the earth mode, so don't think I need three of him.

I may get Megs from AmiAmi though since he's a more palatable $46 bucks there. and it pretty much what the regular one is going for anywhere I see him any way.

Wow, Magnus looks terrible. I guess "premium" means "dark" in his case.

If they had painted that front cab (the grille and lights) and extended the blue from the front portion while removing the grit and given him just more painted details overall I'd feel worse about passing. But they took an already adequate color scheme and just darkened the Hell out of it.

I would have gotten that Magnus if he was either black instead of gray and/or his Earth mode. But I don't like the gray or the Siege mold.

Technically the color scheme and the mold is actually accurate to the on-screen representation. Why would they do something to make it not accurate if they are going for onscreen accuracy?

This is Magnus as he appears in the show after Megatron blasts him. He was not the Kingdom remold and we has in fact gray not black.

I guess they just don't like shipping here. Its totally a if you want it there, we'll make it as impossible to to buy as possible.

Don't know why Mexico garners so much hate from Amazon JP. It's really very strange.

Getting Magnus for sure, looking forward to seeing what the domestic prices end up being. They'll certainly be considerably less than the Japanese prices once you factor in shipping.

Megatron is an easy pass. Doesn't look that much different and I don't like the mold all that much to begin with (should have been Leader class).

They're releasing way too many leaders. I just got caught up & then they just dropped 3 more all at the same time, Galvatron, Slag & Grindor. Then the Selects Galvatron. Also Beast Wars Megatron, T-Wrecks & the Jurassic Park set. Now this Ultra Magnus. Another rumored Kingdom Galvatron repaint coming. I don't remember seeing so many leader class released all around the same time.

Then there's commander class Rodimus & SG Jetfire on top of all the other releases. Plus the titan Ark & I'm still waiting for titan Scorponok from last year.

This is seriously getting nuts. And I'm not even buying everything. I'm cherry picking but it's still way too expensive.

And I had to order the Valaverse Botcon Wasp Raider because I go nuts over bee/wasp/hornet themed figures & I freakin love Waspinator. That was another $57 like buying a leader class that doesn't Transform. It's a total rip-off but it's just too awesome to pass up.

It doesn't transform because it's not a Transformers toy. It's an Action Force toy of a human soldier wearing armor that's simply colored in homage to Waspinator, but isn't Waspinator at all because Waspinator isn't a human.

Another Siege Magnus that looks even more dingy and splattered? I think I'll be fine with the regular Siege version, thanks.

Especially for more than 90$US.

Seriously debating getting the Premium Megatron. That silver with the bronze accents is super slick. For me, it makes a huge difference in deco, and makes him that much more movie accurate. They did a splendid job with him

Oh, you meant the SS 2007 movie version.
It's still a great toy, but there's barely any difference between the regular release and this one. If you can find the original Studio Series at a reasonable price, go for that one instead of grossly overpay for the "premium."

I already have that one, and this one actually does have a lot to offer. the bronze adds a lot of background to the armor detail, and the weathering is great on it. It adds a lot more than you might think

If any toy from the Transformers Studio Series line, it was Ratchet. His face wasn't even fully painted. Well, the Premium Finish line will help anyone who wants a better painted Ratchet (and is willing to pay the price). The image below shows both SS Ratchet and WFC (Siege) Starscream from the Premium Finish line. Starscream's improvements aren't as noticeable and he still has weathering similar to the original release.

These are not exclusives so any online retailer (including Amazon japan) will have these available. They do come at a premium though since that is the whole point of this line.

But seriously, I know that if I took a side-by-side look from the original vs these I’d find something, as will likely everyone who responds to this lol, but the fact that I can only notice a lack of battle damage on Starscream as the only difference here really agitates me. Especially since they're charging almost TWICE as much for these. With each new reveal, I’m progressively shocked at the poor choices they make for figures to repaint, and the incredibly mediocre job they do. And none of this would even bother me in the least if they weren’t charging SO much for these. I keep thinking there’s some sort of catch to these things.

Ratchet looks alright, the new base color is good and I’m curious what details they added to alt mode. I missed out on 07 Ratchet’s original release so I may have to pick this one up!

If the 2007 Megatron is even more gloriously shiny, I'll get that.

The rest, however, are a hands-raised cash grab. What would've been better for us and easier for Hasbro/Takara would be a "Generations Best Of" subline where they straight-up re-released recent figures that had short production runs. No reworking, no price-hike.

Can't speak for anywhere else, but in the UK if you don't secure a pre-order, odds are you ain't getting one.

Don't see much difference for Starscream. But for Ratchet, it's pretty easy to see. The original one had very little paint, so he was just puke green all around. But here we see some detail, like his face.

I can't think about anything when all I have are a single blurry picture of Ratchet and Starscream.

I guess that Starscream will be an easy pass, but I'll keep an eye open for Ratchet.
