Blaster Master.
And it does live up to the hype. You pilot a "jumping tank" arond levels, and you have to find your way to the boss, similar to Metroid. Unlike Metroid though, you can get out of your tank, and enter smaller areas where you control your person. These segments are top down Super C-esque levels. One button shoots, the other throws a powerful yet extremely short range grenade. It's also during these levels that you fight bosses, which are both cool and fun. After you beat a boss, you get an upgrade, like a more powerful weapon for your tank, or hovering for your tank. Definitely suggested.
However, there is a major flaw with the game: No saving OR Passwords, so it has to be beaten in one sitting. If only it had a password system, then it would be perfect. One other minor gripe: when in the top down segments, you can find upgrades to make your gun more powerful. But if you get hit, you lose one of the upgrades. I don't get the correlation.
Oh, and tommorrow I'm gonna be kickin it with the original NES G.I. Joe game my bro won for me off E-Bay two weeks ago. Seeing a special on 1up.com about Joe games got my interest piqued in the game I barely remember from when I was a kid, and it did look pretty sweet for a licensed game. Plus, they said it was the best Joe game behind the Arcade game.
Blaster Master is amazing, but so damn hard. The Grenade trick comes in very handy (throw a 'nade during boss fights and pause the game for 30 seconds, resume and he will be dead. doesn't work on all Bosses, though).
I hear that the GI Joe games were well done in terms of Level Design. I haven't tried them yet, though. Have fun!
And what's wrong with Enix, Xion? I didn't say 'Epic bought them,' I said 'teaming up with.'
