Where's the square chin-beard? Why did this upset so many when the 1984 G-1 toy had the square chin-beard? Think the face looks less smart, stupid and overly happy now?

Sunstreaker needs the square chin-beard as he's a older more mature robot. Beards on robots show wisdom and age. not having the square chin-beard makes sunstreaker look like a rookie, kid and lower intelligence-wisdom.

Wondering and hoping 2nd releases of this toy comes with more different faces with a square chin-beard and helmet ears.

The first link helmet ears in this reply look like Parentheses brackets. which is a terrible thing.

Correct. If I get a chance Ill take a few comparison shots. Although I wouldnt doubt ryan has some in his G1 galleries.

He will be coming with all 4 faces for sure and I think he said two different ear styles..

Credits to Ryan for the pic. Saved me some time. As you can see Sideswipe is the real Countach and Sunstreaker is a futuristic car based on the Countach. Very similar from the front, but distinctly different from the rear.

A MUST HAVE! I'm glad that I didn't get Hasbro deluxe & the Takara Masterpiece version. This is as close as you can get to the original Sunstreaker in all aspects!

Big-ups to Omnigonix for giving us the fans a true masterpiece of what it represents!

Can't wait for it to get into production!

This is the very first test shots pics Omnigonix is showing fans. These are not complete test shots, As their are parts missing.

Looking forward to buying this as it looks great.

It looks good, but I've been thinking...wouldn't they get into trouble if those guys at Lamborghini see this?

I'm pretty sure Takara will make their own MP Synstreaker, but this is a nice figure. Kudos to the deaigners for the more real-life accurate Countach mode.

Thats the downside in my opinion. For Sunstreaker, the "real life" Countach is neither cartoon or toy accurate. The diaclone car was cool as hell and made Sunstreaker unique. Going this route is like giving Topspin and Twin Twist the same alt mode. Theyre brothers, not twins.

I see your point, but the inevitable Takara MP Sunstreaker will probably be accurate to the toy/cartoon model's more stylized Countach (which is very cool). So those wanting a more realistic Countach can go for this whilst people wanting a G1-accurate "Space Countach" will go for the Takara version. Same with Starscream; people wanting fidelity to the cartoon model will go for MP-11 whilst aircraft buffs who want a (fairly) realistic F-15 will go for MP-03.

Options are always good, and this is no exception.

(I would love to see a real Countach modified to look like the Diaclone Sunstreaker vehicle mode though.)

Think if Takara makes a MP Sunstreaker, It will be 2016+. 2015 will have MP 23 Starsaber, Guessing MP-24 Victory leo and repaints-retools from MP-20, MP-21 and MP-22, MP-23 and MP-24 Victoryleo.

While i'm waiting 2 years+ for a Takara MP Sunstreaker. Might as well buy and enjoy V-01 Spinout.

Don't think this V-01 Spinout Looks anything like the alt mode MP Sideswipe is using. MP Sideswipe is using a Lamborgini alt mode design from the 1970's to 1980's. While this V-01 Spinout is using a brand new Lamborgini alt mode design from the 2000's+, with heavily modified parts.

Many on TFW said and I agree with them. Lamborgini will never allow HasTak to create and liscense a heavily modified Lamborgini MP TF toy that looked like the 1984 Sunstreaker toy.

I'm not sure that's how licensing works. Once they have the license, I'm pretty sure they have "license" to do as they please.

Licensing is handled via contract law, and as such any number of stipulations could be built in, including a requirement to pass a final "licensor approval".

Well, Takara got the license to do Sideswipe, who is unashamedly a Lamborghini Countach. I don't imagine Sunstreaker should be a problem, seeing as he's basically a slightly squarer than usual Countach with a spoiler, engine block and modified back end.

(All this talk of Sunstreaker makes me really want MP Tigertrack, as he's essentially a yellow Countach, and the Countach looks beautiful in yellow...)
