Still the only Botcon set that has really impressed me is the 2006 set, which I am kinda biased about because I am a major Beast Wars fanboy.

The 2005 set seemed really kinda random, and the 2007 set was very nice.

I'm not going to Botcon, but have ordered (and will be getting) the Iacon set.

I don't like this free figure. The only way I'd get it is if I liked how the character is used in the Timelines story and it is on eBay for cheap (under $30).

I was actually hoping for the rumored Black Rodimus. Maybe he'll be one of the add-ons. And I agree, this set needs more 'Cons. Megatron will probably be an add-on. I hope all the add-ons are Decepticons. Even if that means Black Rodimus is a 'Con.

Perhaps because this set sold from orders made before most people saw most of the figures?

I actually like the figure, I just think they could have done a better color scheme, maybe Black and Gold like his G1 Counterpart(and giving him Nightstick a targetmaster partner would have been awesome)

Well, I can say I won't be one of those people. I just am not excited AT ALL by this year's simply by just the CONCEPT of it - "Oooh, let's make evil versions of the five most recognizable Autobots!!!"... :roll:

I guess it should have been expected, though, after finally getting Alpha Trion, the rest of the Decepticon jets and 'Classics'verse Springer and Huffer last year...y'know, characters who haven't had a decent toy in quite some time, if at all. Even the '05 set beats this out, and it was the weakest one of the past three years, IMO.

If anyone hates the Ricochet figure that much, hit me up at Botcon because I am trading a few Botcon exclusives to a dealer who would gladly snatch those up.

I know what you guys are saying, I can find fault in this set too but it could have been much much much worse.

I would have crapped my pants if they had made a Beast Machines set for example. But hey, next year IS the 10th anniversary of that I believe...

I'm not going to come out and fully bash this figure. I will say that I wish it had a bit more detail, or more ricochet colors. It seems a little sloppy or rushed, like they couldn't come up with something. Still It will have a spot in my exclusive shelves.

I especially have a problem with calling it Ricochet. Since when was Ricochet red? Black would have been much better and fit into the theme too. The colors are more like Zoom-Zoom than Ricochet.

Hey, I just had a thought. Maybe they didn't color him like his G1 version(black with flames on hood and sides) because it would be too close to Black Rodimus'. :-?

Why didn't they make another Decepticon? That set is gonna be so unbalanced in terms of factions. Don't me wrong...I think the piece is awesome. But there are only two good guys!!!!!!

As has been mentioned, 'free' is a relative term. You have to buy something very expensive to get the 'free' item.

I prefer last year's Mirage. I also would like to see Ricochet in black and gold to at least make an attempt to look like Stepper, whom Ricochet was created from. And a minicon pal, one of the triplechanger/targetmasters would have made it awesome!

Now it is just 'Meh...'

Yeah, I think this years set is a big pass for me. I like the SD Con Nemeseis Prime a lot more, and the rest of the set really isn't exciting me much.

Ofcourse, if we do not end up with a Jazz in Classics, I will be pissed I didn't grab the one in this set, but, for now, my rating is 3 Mehs.

Right now Movie G1 Jazz redeco from Target is my Classic Jazz. I wonder if Hasbro can still redeco the Cybertron Crosswise mold into G1 Jazz for the Universe line? It's not the exact same color or head as the Botcon toy, so it wouldn't be infringing on thier "exclusive".
