Well Caelus is in my PoL, and we still haven't seen concept images of Toyworlds version yet, so I'm going with Planet X for my Classics Dinobots.

just got my caelus yesterday and it is awsome! This is my 1st 3rd party figure and the design is amazing. It has great articulation, the wings can be set at an angle like the pics from the game, the head can look up and down. I'm having alot of fun with this figure. The only problem I have is that the directions aren't that clear and I wound up twisting some pegs where the wings attach to the main body but other than that I'm very pleased with the figure. If this is just the begining then I can't wait for the other dinos from Planet X

Given the rave reviews this figure is getting, I suspect the definitely will be doing the rest of the Dinobots. I sure hope so at least. I also want them to do a new, more game accurate version of Grimlock.

I dont think they'll do a Grimlock but I could be wrong but if they did I would probably put my hasbro one back in the box. If you have the money I would get it, its a definite must buy and you wouldnt be disappointed. Its good to know they are planning on making the others cuz they will definitly be getting my money

Anyone figured out his 3rd/weapon mode yet? Those are some very obvious gun handles on his feet.

Those are used for attaching him in bird mode to FoC Grimlock's shoulders to replicate a scene from the game.

Baltmatrix showed it off in his YouTube review. You should be able to figure it out based on that, assuming he shows it from the correct angles as well as the foot transformation, which as I recall, he does.

Yep, that's who I meant (and apologies to Trikeboy for getting it mixed up) sorry about that. I'd just watched a Baltmatrix review of another figure recently so his name was still on my brain

Yep, I got it! It is surprisingly easy now that I know where those pegs go. From the pics earlier in the thread I couldn't tell how Swoop stayed upright. This is how I will be displaying both Grimlock and Swoop.

I know the aesthetics are radically different, and this may be a bit of a stretch, but going solely by the alt. modes I reckon Caelus is fairly in-scale with MP Grimlock.

I agree, but they look really stupid side by side as robots. My Caelus arrived today, and it is pretty decent. The instructions are pants. The plastic used is very 'hard', and there are loads of sharp surfaces. Detail-wise it is very busy for my taste. But then aappreciated this is what the foc aesthetic is all about.

Now onto an odd observation. My Caelus smells funny. He smells like he has been rubbed down with WD40. Anyone else notice this? I am sober btw.

I used to be a quality inspector for small plastic parts. That smell could be a couple of things:

I didn't notice anything when I was fiddling with Caelus. The next time am by my shelf I'll freak out my wife and pick up my figure and give it a once over with my nose.

[Edit] I gave mine the smell test, and it's clean. It has been out of the box for about a month now.

I got him in yesterday and I love him. He's perfect for my Classics Swoop. Instructions aren't too good, as Banjo-Tron noted. I eagerly await them doing Sludge, Slag and Snarl.

Most likely mold release agents that haven't been thoroughly cleaned off. It happens from time to time. I used to have a G1 bootleg of Monstructor, shells and all (so stupid of me to sell that off...what was I thinking?!) and it reeked something fierce. It smelled like a mix of WD-40 and the inside of a radio.
