Already thinking about that, huh? Well so was I.

It obviously depends on what he transforms into, but I think voyager would be a nice size.

For a good voyager, I'd say some kind of jet, probably similar to the Cybertron version. Or something like his Animated Scion mode.

Part of me would almost like to see the alt mode some sort of vehicle,
but don't know if that'll cut it...

I wonder if they'll make his character tougher, faster, and overall more aggressive than what he was in the shows.

I was thinking somewhere along the lines of a stealth helicopter or jet. Something that is both powerful and can intercept communications from a safe distance.

For realism purposes, TF2 SOUNDWAVE will be a voyager and might convert into a military communications vehicle with satellite hook-up....That would be UBER COOL!!! :grin:

I'd like to see something along the lines of a stealth helicopter or armored military communictions truck in a Voyager size. No jets, that should be reserved for the seekers.

On another note, it would be cool if they used the G1 repaint head for Starscream in TF2, it looks a lot more like him.

I really like the idea of a military comm. truck.
And, I'm hoping he is a legit voyager figure (not like Blackout).

Also, with a non-G1 alt mode,
what elements do you think will be added to give him some semblance of his original appearance??

I'm hoping for a VERY similar head, the shoulder cannon, and some blue coloring (I think Navy Blue would be cool).

I imagine Soundwave being a stealth bomber very similar to G2 Dreadwing/RM Gigant Bomb. The stealth bomber is designed to absorb radio waves emitted by radar. Soundwave's main function is to intercept radio transmissions. It's a very fitting alt mode, IMO. He could have cassetticons that drop from his underside like bombs. Just like Cybertron Soundwave. And if he was black, that my not be so bad. But then he'd actually be Soundblaster.

Who knows and who really cares there just going to screw up soundwave like they have done with most of the other characters in the original film. I wouldn't trust these guys as far as I could throw them. They call themselves transformers fans but I really didn't see anything that indicated them being fans of transformers they might be fans of the giant robot anima but that is different than being a fan of transformers but that is just me.

You're not the only one,I feel that way too.
I think all this "realism" BS that the movie producers use for the lack of TF's that can shrink their mass like Megatron or Soundwave did in G1 is a bit ridiculous given the subject matter,who's to say a race of shapeshifting alien robots wouldn't posess this ability?
Soundwave will likely end up as some sort of truck that will be made by one of the car companies that sponsors the movie.

For the past while I've been thinking a submarine would be a good choice of alt mode for an updated Soundwave. For one thing, Submarines use sonar for navigation, and sonar is Soundwaves. Plus submarines, basically they spy.

And check it out, he could have a mini-sub minion, launch spy satellite minions, fire torpedo minions, lotsa room for the minions:

I like the military vehicle idea i think that a ground based communications vehicle would give him the blocky physique of soundwave. perhaps they'd have a radar screen or some sort of screen on his chest as a kind of nod back to soundwave's cassette deck feature taking up most of his chest.

A blocky soundwave with a screen on his chest displaying the decepticon logo, now thats what i'd like to see, he could even show plans on it (being a screen and all) :wink:

regardless of what he looks like though i will buy any movie soundwave figure, he's just that badass B-)

Seeing as how most of the first movies vehicles were close to AEC counterparts I’m willing to bet he’ll be a stealth bomber. Think about it:

Bumblebee = Hotshot.
Prime = Armada Prime
Ironhide = Energon Ironhide
Ratchet = Armada Redalert
Starscream = Energon Starscream
Megatron = Energon Megatron

How could he not?

Michael bay is the biggest hack in hollywood. I wish that they would replace him as director of the second film and find someone who would at least look at the animated stuff try to find a way to combine both styles into the next film unstead of just making it genaric giant robot film with transformers names inserted into to the script.
