exactly what negative comments about other toys have I said?

the way I see it, as a 'new guy' is this:

Here this guys taken the time and effort to take pics, transform the figure so he can have pics in each mode, has it with another figure so people can see size difference, resized and posted all the pics, just so people can see him a little bit better. And what does he get? Comment after comment that all say to paraphrase, "this figure sucks."

So then when I make a post saying that it's actually a really cool figure and make some specific points about it, I get singled out and basically mocked as being an "oh you new guys"

What was right about that? I liked the movie and I like UltimateBB, yet whenever I express that it's always 'the new guys' or whatever, like my opinion is worthless and I don't know what I'm talking about.

I said what I felt at the time, that alot of the people who say that UBB sucks don't own him, or are repeating what I consider to be the popular opinion. I see alot of that in life, not just on this board.

The hypocrisy is overwhelming when it comes to the majority. If everyone hates a figure, then jump on the one guy who likes it. If everyone loves a figure then jump on the one guy who doesn't. Same with the movie.

Honestly I can't figure out why everyone on this board fights all the time. I just left being a moderator at another board that I was on for many, many years because I got tired of all the bickering. I really don't understand why if we're all here because we love Transformers, why do there have to be cliques and groups and separate clubs, etc. This is an amazing website with an amazing board, which is why in the few spare hours I have everyday I've been spending them here. It's multicultural and there's people from every country here, it's awesome. Yet thread after thread is basically fans saying, "if you don't agree with me you're an idiot."

I just don't get it.

If you feel like I offended everysingle fan here, then I apologize. I was just expressing what I've seen, and I didn't mean at this particular board. I deal with fans everyday. Some of them are online, and believe it or not some of them are fans of me and my own work.

But the root word of 'fan' is 'fanatic' and believe me when I say there are a lot of fanatics out there with no social skills who try and bully people into thinking what they think, and if they still don't agree then they're an 'idiot.'

It gets old.

Look at Fortress Maximus for example. Yes, his main gimmick was his size (granted, that's generally a worthless gimmick, but on Max...it works. Well.) but he had so many other features.

A working elevator.
A working jail cell.
A double HeadMaster.
A city mode.
A robot mode.
A battle station mode.
A duo of autonomous security vehicles that combine into one larger robot companion.

Etc.

That for $80.00? I'm sold! Electronics or not.

Ultimate Bumblebee for $80.00? Not only am I not sold, I will laugh. Heartily at the price and then walk away.

There is nothing ultimate about him.

You make a good point, one which I think might be good enough to start a thread about(or one that will fall in obscurity), but all the same, you've given me an idea!

Oh, and about Ultimate B, no comment. Don't have him, waiting for clearance, but if I don't nab him, no biggie. Still though, Bumblebee was always my favorite character, and I loved how he was portrayed in the movie.

I think that I will commend you on taking the pictures of it, proudly posting them for all of us to view, and your bravery on purchasing an Ultimate Bumblebee..

I am not in any way gonna buy that particular toy/Gimmicks robo thingy...

I like the Deluxe, he quite does the job of capturing he character quite brilliantly..

If I was to ever spend 80.00 on a toy, i would choose a Lifeless Masterpiece with accurate articulation, sculpting, and Paint applications. the whole robotic light up thing is not what a Transformer is about, the transformation is the gimmick, and not the robotics movements and lights or Devo.. so for me, not thanks.. not worth the money or the time..

That is why I suggested getting a Masterpiece version done.. maybe by Hasbro..

Let Takara do G-1 and Hasbro do he Movie in a masterpiece figure.. that would be cool..but that's a dream, and the reality is that their Ultimate rendition is purely a farce and not worthy of the title and the money..

that's just my opinion and all I have to say about it..

I ended up purchasing all 7 transforming versions of Bumblebee (Legends, FAB, CS '77, CS '08, DLX '77, DLX '08 and Ultimate) and I think they all have their own merits. My favorites are DLX '08 (for overall look and transformation) and Ultimate (for transformation and gimmicks, especially in car mode). About the only thing I don't like about Ultimate is the color of the missile. :)

Can't speak for others, but I don't find myself dislike Ultimate BB just for the sake of hating it. Don't really find enjoyment there. Just thought it could have been so much better for the price its asking for. While there are times that I would pay big bucks for certain toys, they at least excels in some things that makes the toy cool and worthwhile (regardless not necessary good bang for the buck). But Ultimate BB falls short in so many ways that it doesn't excel in anything other than the size and electronics. And to be honest, how many of us really try to look for killer electronics that sing songs and have move around in a TF? If I just want a huge toy for display, I'll just get a Jumbo Grade Gundam/Zaku or something.

Really, nothing Ultimate about this 'Ultimate' Bumblebee. The $10 deluxe on the other hand is a very nice toy. Even if its comes in for free, I would pick the Deluxe over this Ultimate. That tells how great this Ultimate is to me.

I love Ultimate Bumblebee.

He's big, yellow, and friendly.

Plus, my wife gave him to me as part of my birthday gift.

I really want to see a full blown seibertron.com gallery of this guy. simple fact is that most of us have only seen him IN package and ANYONE who's ever bought a transformer should know that they are not always packaged transformed correctly. you can LOOK at his chest and see that it is more than one big chunk of plastic. don't believe me? check the http://www.hlj.com banner that's usually at the top right corner of this site. you can see the lines, see that the chest is not fully transformed.

I am sure a lot of people are aware of the chest issue by now. Its pretty obvious. Don't really think thats the main factor causing people to dislike the figure though. That would be funny if people just look at the mis-transformed chest and go: "Everything is cool, just the chest is a bit off. Ok, this toy sucks!" :P

Correct. If the windows were clear, all you would see is a grey chunk of plastic where the Batteries, the on switch, and "auto fire" button are located.

As for all the mistransformations that Malikon was whining about, I hate to tell him that most of those were purposeful, the chest is crapatcular when done properly, you cannot get access to his "song" button hidden under it when it is made to look "right", the right leg was not all the way out, so Bumblebee can balance decently, I have found fully extending both legs (or leaving them at the same length in general) causes him to fall more often) and the gun only extends another half an inch when the missile is inserted.

Not sure if all of theses problems are line-wide, but they occur on mine.

I wonder why Ultimate didn't get clear windows, seeing that both deluxe figures also show a lot of junk inside. Is an electronic box so different than a pair of arms or whatever?

Same here, really like him.

However: has anyone else had trouble with is gun/cannon? Mine is a really sensitive, it's hard to get the orange missle to lock in place and stay there. The spring seems a bit weak two: doesn't launch very far...
