I'm gonna give away the AL Wild Card to the Yankees.

Also:

AL W: Angels; C: Indians; AL E: Red Sox (even though it makes me cringe just to hear myself say that).

NL W: D-Backs; C: Cubs (even though I love to poke fun of the team at the expense of their fans); E: Mets

Wild Card: Dodgers

Nice picks!

Yeah, to determine the Tigers chance at the playoffs you'll have to look at their competition.

Indians: It's probably unlikely that Detroit will catch them for the devision.

Mariners: I think the Tigers will end up with a better record than Seattle.

Twins and Blue Jays probably won't catch Detroit.

Which leaves the Yankees. Detroit is in a good position to make one last run at the playoffs, but time is quickly running out.

Anybody want to make predictions playoff and World Series predictions?

For me -

ALCS: Angels over Tigers
NLCS: Mets over D-Backs

World Series: Angels over Mets

I feel if the Yankees do win the wild card they must win the first round

It might be the Angels for some unknown reason the Yankees cannot beat

The Yankees have owned the Red Sox and the Indians so if they some beat the Angels (if there the first round opposition)I feel they can win the American league

I have no predictions for the NL.I don't care for the NL never have

As far as for my Playoffs predictions go:

1st Edition (AKA My Most Biased One)

NLDS:

D-Backs vs Mets; Mets in 5
Cubs vs Dodgers; Dodgers in 4

NLCS:

Mets vs Dodgers; Dodgers in 7

ALDS:

Red Sox vs Angels; Red Sox in 3
Indians vs Yankees; Yankees in 4

ALCS:

Red Sox vs Yankees; Yankees in 6

World Series: Dodgers in 6, as long as Grady Little remembers NOT to pit Takashi Saito against Hideki Matsui (Takashi is Hideki's bitch, back when both were playing in Japan).

Yhe only way I think the Yanks could face Cleveland in the first round is if Clevelands gets the second best record behind Boston

I just missed it. Yanks were down when I left work and by the time I got home it was over. Great win though. Now I hope they take the next two from those Boston Bastards! :P

I watched some of the game. You know what, I was hoping Boston would sweep the Yankees. The Red Sox were leading, like 7-2 or something like that so I think they've got it made. I come back later and it's 9th inning and New York's up 8-7, and I'm thinking "What happened?????"

Wheeljack35 wrote:If they get past the Angels I think they could but in baseball anything can happen

Yeah, I think the Angels might be the most dangerous team in the postseason.

They have solid starting pitching and solid relief pitching, especially at the back end of the bullpen.

They can hit. They've got scrappy players who get base hits all over the ball park. They've got players who can string together base hits to score runs.

They can hit for power too with Garrett Anderson back healthy, he and the Vladinator make a great 1-2 punch!

They also got speed, which creates a lot of havoc for the pitcher and the defense whenever they get on base.

Tigers have had a lot big losses this season, but the last time they played in Anaheim was ugly. I couldn't even watch the games. Not only did they get swept, but I think the Angels scored 10 or more runs in each game of the three game set.

Make that 7-4, as we're about to get our butts kicked.

Our bats are starting to get cold at the worst possible time... :?

Mariano Rivera seems to be hell bent on giving me a bloody heart attack.

That was a tense 9th inning last night...

LMAO

Mariano is becoming John Wettland

Joba Chamberlain is like Mariano when Rivera started out in the bullpen

I was at work when I found out the final score

In a our breakroom the TV was on and the spanish people who we work with had it on a spanish station and I didn't need to understand the Yankes win when I had seen Jeters HR

It kind of reminded me of Bucky Dent in 1978

Hear ye! Hear ye! If your team is in the National League, you should beware. HERE COME THE CUBBIES!

Folks, start going to church. The End of Days may be here...the Cubs are the hottest team in baseball again. They have won 11 of 12 going into the last week of the year and their magic number is 4. I truly believe that the Cubs will probably be thre representative for the NL in the World Series...

...and may God help us all...

GO CUBBIES!
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

THE CLEVELAND INDIANS, YOUR NEW AL CENTRAL CHAMPS!!!

...finally, I can enjoy watching the baseball playoffs again! I haven't a team to root for in the playoffs since 2001, when the Mariners and the Indians were both in it!

Grats to Cleveland and ANaheim/Los Angeles/California/Orange County near Rancho Vierda somewhere near Beverly Hills which is close to Rancho Santa Fe by Van Nuys Angels. Now that the playoffs are set in the AL (you really think the Yankees or Bosox are gonna choke it away?), time to focus on the NL. Out of all three divisions it looks like the NL Central- the division that HAD been the closest the past few weeks- will be the first to clinch. In a photo finish, it looks like the Chicago Cubs- a team that was 66-96 last year!- will be the NL Central reps. I'm still thinking the Mets are going to choke away the division though. If the Phillies make the playoffs, it's between them and CHicago to go to the WS...they are easily the hottest teams in the NL right now.

There might be a possibilty of the Yanks clinching the Wild Card and the Division....of course if they get the division Boston will be the wild card

Now to see how it plays out.....

Funny the AL wild card team has a better record then any of the NL division leaders and there might be a possibility of the NL Wild Card team playing a division winner that has less wins then they have

True, but I think top to bottom the NL is better...by that I mean the bottom tier teams are not as bad as the bottom tier teams in the AL. You look at the bottom tier in the AL- KC, TB, Chicago (god I love that :-) ), Baltimore- and there is a greater talent discrepency between them and the top teams. I mean, any team that gets to play Tampa and Baltimore 19 times in a season each is going to have more wins, period. That's a fifth of your season against teams who have lost 100 games annually. THe important thing to note right now though is who is the hottest team. The Cardinals only won 88 games last year, but they got hot at the right time and got rings for it. The hottest team in the league once again resides on the North Side in Chicago. They've won 13 of 15 and suddenly their bats have woken up- the balls are flying out of the park suddenly from D. Lee, A-Ram, and Soriano. The three of them have combined for over 40 HR's just this month and all three are hitting over .300. That's a dangerous hot streak...could we be looking at the end of a 99 year wait? If they stay this hot, it just could happen.
