I just saw the teaser poster for this film, (see it here) and I think it's one of the best teasers I've ever seen (it's on par with the Star Wars episode I teaser poster). It's just great art direction. And it doesn't even have the name of the movie anywhere, the whole film campaign is the best tease in itself.

I still think this film will be a "Blair Witch Project" for monster movies. Hand-held camera throughout, concentrating only on the personal side of things, perhaps a subtle war on terror/9-11 type experience, showcasing what people do under extreme stress and fear, only using a monster instead.

I think as far as teaser posters go that is brilliant

A couple of things are making me a bit wary of this film, as much as I loved the trailer:

1) The price tag. $30M? Chump change. I know that you don't always get what you pay for in Hollywood, and you're not paying big names on either side of the (lone) camera, but still.

2) The "Found" rumor is a little too plausible for my liking. The Aurax household gave up on "Lost" about 3/4 of the way through the first season. A movie tie-in isn't going to get us back to the show... it's just too much work. Tie-ins with movies only work the other way around (TV -> big screen).

That said, I absolutely love the detective work going on. Like, that graffiti that's near the entrance to the stairwell as the kids are all scampering back into the building... does that come into play somehow? The potential of this movie is tickling the same synapses that Twin Peaks did. (All of this is no doubt why the references to Doyle are having a little staying power as well.)

Of course they do. Why? People are morons, idiots, stooges(not the good kind), goons, etc.

I saw the trailer with Beowolf. This movie really is starting to lose it's appeal. It seems what we feared is starting to come true. With them showing a lot of new footage, it doesn't seem like that good of a film. It really seems(thus far) to be all hype.

Hopefully I'll be wrong and this movie will be good.
