i don't really care about the active roster, for me it's all about expanding the team roster.

I can agree to that, for me it doesn't matter how many are active.

It's clearly obvious why YOU want this to happen, everyone knows you have more characters than Flashback has vinyl pants.

However, in your honest opinion, what does it really do to benefit the game as a whole?

thats not true!i only have 35 characters, flahbacks got more vinyl pants than that!

the only marginal reason i can think of is to minimise the amount of time poeple have more free slots than available characters due to appauling performance.

like i said earliar, it's an arbitary value i don't see how it makes a blind bit of difference either way. except to players.

just like adding more alts to the database...

There's no point in shooting down an idea because you see no reason to go with it. If there's a valid reason not to go with it, sure, but not a single one has been presented.

Except that offers more variety to the game, and with the expanded alts we get expanded classes which gets away from the clones we have running around at the moment.

But there's also no reason to go with it "just because".

What it comes down to is there's no real benefit to it being added, and there's no real downside to it being added.

So it's either added, or it's not, whichever happens it's not really going to have much an effect on the game as a whole.

And I think most of us would fall into the category of "whatever happens happens" with only a handful wanting it or not wanting it.

And i'm in the "whatever happens happens" category with a hinge of "not really seeing the point of it but eh, whatever".

Well, I want it (as does Tam, presumably) so as to have room to create all the characters I have ideas for - though, to be fair, the 'non-combat character' idea I mention elsewhere would accomplish that and add to the game beyond the creative side.

i don't really see the point of having a bajillion f-16 alts, more alt classes, that's more to do with us having an expanded tactic list(though half of them i don't see the point as there just the current tactics we got, renamed) than more alt images.

Plus, on the gameplay side, at present, there's currently only 4 tactics, and 20 combinations thereof (I don't care if jets, shuttles and air animals cost things differently). Twelve characters covers most of those bases. V2 increases the tactic combinations many-fold, and twelve characters really isn't enough to try a lot of them.

And THAT I could go with.

And Tammy, as far as alts go, the variety is nice but I think a lot of people just like to look at all the pretty pictures. :?

Hey! Why don't we reduce the number of character slots!

Obviously, if adding more would do nothing to improve the game or the players' experiences, and if there is nothing special about the number twelve, it couldn't hurt to reduce the number of characters!

The game would probably run a lot more smoothly if every player just had 1 bot! Even cutting it down to three could be a big improvement!

Why stop there.

why don't we each have half a Duocon...
The opinions expressed in this post are well-reasoned and insightful.
Needless to say, they are not those of SEIBERTRON.COM, its staff members, or any other site lackeys.
Anyone who says otherwise is itching for a fight.
