It was pretty amazing. The spectacle of it was just off the map! Prime was awesome, and Starscream was a badass.

I guess you could say I liked the film.

Just got back from my TF showing...all I can say, it was f**king awesome! I take back all doubts I had earlier. The movie was 2+ hours, but you could not tell. You got your first TF glimpse, which was Blackout, within the first few minutes. Yes, it started off that fast. The movie didn't slow, but it introduced you to Sam (Spike) & later Bumblebee. This was basically Sam & Bumblebee's film. They really formed a great bond together. Bumblebee didn't speak until the end, but he had some great moments in the film...trying to get Sam hooked up with Megan Fox's character...that was really funny. All in all, the CGI blew me away...you could not tell the CGI from the real deal...money well spent! I loved this film, & it was probably the best film I have seen in a long time, & the last film in a while that I plan on seeing again real soon in the theater.

There was probaly 60/40 guys & gals there, & it was basically a unanimous feeling about the film...cheers, claps & the ovation at the end. This was definitely Michael Bay's best.

PS...pay no attention to the posts that claim the movie *wasn't watchable*...they apparently didn't see teh same film I did.

THe Autobots are not supposed to be a legion of goody two shoes. THe only ones with a true sense of heroism are Bumblebee and Optimus, and both were characterized as such.

THe rest of the Autobots are simply soldiers fighting for a more noble cause, which is how it should be. It would be terribly boring if every autobots carried the exact same moral values.
- The movie wasn't very fun. It was exciting and at times amazing, but never fun. It doesn't sweep you up on a grand journey, it bangs you over the head with action set pieces.

How exactly can a movie be funny and not be fun?

Oh man, this movie had so much G1 refrences, its not even funny.

"One shall stand one shall fall"

"You fail me once again Starscream"

"Its just you and me now Megatron"

I couldnt help but wonder why did we have so much bitching? This movie felt like a Transformers movie, the action was intense and amazing, Prime's speeches were awe inspiring, even Megatron acted like a Megatron

JESUS CHRIST PEOPLE, TURN OFF THE COMPUTER AND GO SEE THIS F*NING MOVIE!!!

I noticed they changed Brawl's name to "devastator," when they realized Brawl was an Autobot name...

Dear Primus...I'm in awe at the sheer awesomeness that is this movie dubbed Transformers. I'm speechless to describe it. I must see it again...and again...and again 8)

So if I had to sum it up in one word, it would be PRIME.

THat was a DAMN good movie. There was so much action and the battles that it kept me going the whole time. The setup took a little long for everything, but you have to expect it in a beginning movie.

The Autobots themselves were okay. I didn't like Ironhide's voice, but Ratchet was what I expected. Jazz was cool(Poor Jazz.....). Bumblebee was the highlight obviously and PRIME was spot on. Optimus just kicks BUTT! It's only his face that's a little weird. But I do like how they used LOTS of little metal parts for their faces. Ratchet sniffing Sam's pheromones was pretty funny.

Megatron was wicked. His scenes were well worth it and is jet mode RULES. I still think Hugo Weaving wasn't the BEST choice, but it worked. Perhaps when Megs comes back they'll use Welker because of the damage done to him! I felt Starscream was underused. He could have had so many awesome scenes but it looks like they're saving that for the sequel. Tis a pity the other Decepticons only felt like REALLY TOUGH cronnies that were taken out REALLY fast. Barricade I think will appear in the sequel for sure.

How cool was it that the Decepticons are dropped into the sea? Now they'll come back in their undersea base! I'm also happy Bumblebee's voice was brought back even though he sounds a little old for the character I'm used to.

The Movie is Just Prime,

But can anybody please tell me what happened to Barricade??? Seems like they just forgot about him during the chase seen to Mission city.

Just got back from my second viewing. I still love it, even with all its little faults.

We'd better see a Prime Vs. Barricade scene on the DVD. I hate the fact that Barricade just disappears. That's too gross an oversight. Probably edited for length, but if so, bad choice.

Bonecrusher is still a waste, though. And I hope to hell against hope that "Devastator"'s name is changed to Brawl for the DVD. If a Decepticon combiner appears in part 2, it'll probably be Bruticus. :/

In the movie comics and novel, Prime dispatches him right after Bonecrusher.

I haven't seen it yet. I will in a week or so or later if I wait for it to go to the encore theatre. But I may enjoy the action, but I may not like the plot. I have read the books and comics and so far they have not impressed me.

I am personally not a big fan of romance. I am perhaps one of the few who can say I could not stand the titanic.

From what I have read thus far, I will probably be fairly disappointed. Despite the Monkey Scream starscream, I was hoping to see a bit more of him. Also, I am not prone to rooting for Autobots. So chances are I will be very glad to see jazz die.

For me, Transformers = robots. Not humans and the human element is not appealing to me. I have liked what I have seen action wise in the trailers.

So, I am on the fence still and I will see if I am shifted to liking it or disliking it. But that is my personal opinion. Having others insist I should like it because I am a TF fan mind boggles me. I have specific things I like and dislike in regards to movies any movie. If it has elements I Like I will probably enjoy it. If it has elements I dislike I may not.

In a nutshell. I have enjoyed many a movie that people said was crap. I have also disliked many a movie that people have raved about.

So I will probably see it when I get around to it.

Here goes:

The movie was a fun ride...as evidenced by my double-checking my watch when the credits started to roll, to make sure that two-hours-twenty had passed. The movie had all the fun explosions, witty one-liners, and sheer force of any summer action blockbuster.

But that's about it.

You know those scenes in action movies, where you will randomly see Nameless Radar Guy or Officer in Command relay a plot point within thirty seconds, to move everything along to get back to the explosions, one-liners, and somebody getting the living crap beaten out of them? It felt like at least a half-hour of the movie alone were subplots that could've been confined to those thirty-second snapshots of exposition. There was not a need for Voight, Gibson, Duhamel, Taylor, or Anderson to have as much screen time as they did; at best, all of the subplots were fluff, and at worst, were just distractions in giving a perspective on the Decepticons that the audience didn't need. They're the big scary bad guys in this picture who pose a technological threat in addition to being able to blow us up. We get it already.

Sam and Bumblebee bonding...what was there, was sweet and charming. LaBeouf managed to bring a certain something to the film that almost gave it heart, and probably the best actor in the whole thing--love it or hate it--is Bumblebee himself. Maybe if so much time hadn't been spent on the damn subplots, the transition into the greater struggle of the Autobots and Decepticons would've been handled a lot more smoothly; as it was, there was a campy flavor to it, but the kind of charming campy that a movie of this kind can get away with. Save for Jazz (don't get me started), all of the Autobots managed to really bring a sense of humanity to the complicated mechanical designs...and sure, though once again, we got the same kind of camp that children who watched the Generation 1 cartoon found so endearing, the characters really wear it well. Shame the only Decepticon that gets the same attention and "depth" is Frenzy (although he is such an adorable little psychopath).

The action...well...I won't lie. By the big fight at the end, it was getting a little tedious. Not even a pause for the stereotypical "final exchange of words between main bad guy and main good guy," just...beating the crap out of each other with tiny one-liners that try as much to characterize Megatron (and, admittedly, kinda make Optimus into a wimp) as they do the difference in ideology, the embodiment of the conflict, and just pure aggression. Little one-liners can't do that, but alas, exposition was hard to come by. Parts of Optimus Prime's end-of-battle speech felt a bit forced, and though Peter Cullen did a wonderful job reprising the role...not even the greatest actors can make bad writing come alive.

So, in summation, I'd say the movie is fun enough to warrant seeing once, and the charm is there to see again. Since no one reading this would expect to go in for the humans, part of the disappointment is gone already. Let's just hope that the creative team involved take the incentive to produce something a bit more endearing and deep next time 'round...

I LOVED IT!! 8-} :APPLAUSE: =P~ :HALUC:

I was so hyped up at the beginning that I was literally shaking in my chair! I was cheering and clapping and hootin'-n-hollerin' throughout! And so was most of the theater along with me! Hell, even my wife (who thinks I'm the biggest Transformers nerd she's seen!) was laughing a lot during this movie! I think she got a bit more of a kick watching me rivetted to the screen than anything else!

My thoughts:
Prime was great! Cullen's voice on the big screen sent chills down my spine! The way Prime dispatched Bonecrusher with the axe (looked like it to me!) was freakin' awesome!
BumbleBee was fantastic! His interaction with Sam was great and, in my opinion, the best part of this movie! They did 'Bee just right!
Ironhide... perfect! Had his mannerisms down pat. Just wanted to shoot somethin' throughout the whole movie! And he certainly unleashed some whoop-ass when he did!
Ratchet wasn't so bad. He really didn't get to built up in the movie so I really didn't get attached to him, but it'll be nice to see more of him in the second.
Jazz. Good riddance. His whole character just bugged the crap out of me. I don't think they did him any justice. So him being ripped apart by Megs was painful to watch but no love loss there whatsoever. Some 'Bot had to get jacked up.
Megatron who? He was barely in the movie and then was gone so quickly! I loved seeing him do his thing and kick some big time 'Bot butt, but why not "flesh" him out more... if you will. I really hope we see him again soon. It just won't be the same without him.
Starscream who? Same thing! At least he'll be back! For his part in this film he certainly kicked ass though! The way he took out those other F-22's was sweet... that whole ariel battle was killer!
Blackout was just awesome! His transformation at the beginning and following rampage was perfect! Just jaw dropping to see him thrash that base! Loved him!
Barricade was the same! His voice was perfectly badass! I was disappointed to see him disappear when it came time for the full blown rumble, but his time in this flick was great! Bring him back!
Scorponok was quick but brutal! He really put the hurt on those troops when he did... especially that guy he speared with his tail and flailed him around like a rag doll was so "Predator"-like that I just let my jaw hit the ground. Too bad we didn't see more of him though.
Frenzy was a piece of crap. I still hate that little junkheap. His whole character just bugged the crap out of me the whole time he was on screen. Why do they make the little ones so damn annoying?!
Devestator was kinda disappointing actually. Mainly because I hardly saw him at all! And the time that I did, he was done with in no time flat!
Sam and Mikela were good. Sam was funny and did a great job in this, and Mikela was just so... wow!

I was somewhat disappointed with some of the character development or lack of but I knew that it was going to be really hard with so many characters to do them all justice. The action was great, but I really wanted to see more of the battles between 'Bot and 'Con! Maybe next time huh?! Overall though... I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!

This movie is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! Any and all concerns I had have simply been put to rest. Michael Bay, kudos, great job, and please bring on another!!! I have to say, this movie was just such a good blend of comedy, drama, and of course, some CRAZY action!!! And I must say, the storyline, while not deep, was incredibly well put together! It was entirely believeable! And when Prime first showed up and transformed, I didn't know if I was gonna explode or just melt in my chair. The character designs work so friggin' well. The guys behind the movie were right. All we had to do was see it in action. Just amazing. I only have one problem (spoiler alert. don't read if you haven't seen or don't want to know)...

poor Jazz... That was almost as bad as seeing Prime die in the original movie. Not just THAT he died, but the way he did. Megatron just ripped him in two like nothing. I kinda expected an Autobot to die, but not like that. That was just devastating and atrocious, and it didn't fit with Jazz. He's a better fighter than that. He should've at least gone out with a fight. But then that's why Megatron can fornicate himself with an iron stick and burn in the fiery torment of hell... FOREVER!! DEATH TO MEGATRON!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, Megatron did NOT need to be that big. That was just wrong. But oh well, he melted from the inside (for now...). HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!

Fantastic movie. In my opinion better than any other I have seen this year.

In the movie, I did see the name as Devastator instead of Brawl. Noticed in the book too. Wasn't sure why, but not gonna let something like that change my opinion overall.

And considering he was unnamed and had no dialogue doesn't say much if he had the most depth of the Decepticons. Many people in my audience walked out thinking it was supposed to be Soundwave.

JUST PRIME

Postby Lanceiron2007 » Tue Jul 03, 2007 1:42 am

The movie brought me back to 1986 when i sat there for the first time hearing the words "its the year 2005". I got chills from the time I heard prime's voice narrate the beginning. I was a kid again for those two hours. It was nice to see how life like they made them. Almost human with the personalities. Cullen as prime is the only way to go....I thought i would be diappointed with megs voice but i liked it. He was as heartless as ever. Would have liked to see more of the interaction between him and starscream, but i have no complaints. Im still amazed at how quick they transformed and how real they looked. I didnt even think of them being cgi like other movies......

The crowd reaction was great in the theater. ppl were cheering and clapping, especially when he took the line form the original movie. one shall stand one shall fall................two thumbs way up. I will see it a few more times in the theater..........Get the next one going.....Oh and bay knows how to make an action movie........

Only wish bumblebee played " the touch" on the radio......cant have everything old.....
