My preference would be that Marvels Galvatron II be separate from the Takara Galvatron II.
Especially after all those Prowls on the prowl
It's intended to be both but he has those weird yellow lighting/flames from that art.

TFC Liokaiser would be the perfect Liokaiser were it not for the hip/knee issues. Hopefully the MechIdeas version will be better.

Hallow parts that are not noticeable unless you're tearing it completely apart. Wouldn't call it a budget constraint when it's a mass retail toy that's aimed for everyone and not just 20-30+ adult collect toys that have expendable income.
Something is better than nothing.
Thank god transformers is a huge as it is and we get so much. Could b worse, could be GI JOE that gets less than 10 figures a year. They could solely focus on RID and the movie stuff instead they focus mostly on Generations which is amazing considering CHUG started as filler 10 years ago because they wanted something on the shelves before the movie came out.
It's Liokaizer for pete sake. The average fan doesn't even know who that is. It's pretty awesome they went out of their way to even make a version of him.

Sorry, maybe it's just me but your post seems a little vague - are you trying to imply there is some sort of Unity going on here?

Hasbro's lio is fine. I just got mine a couple weeks ago and I can't stop playing with him.

The Platinum Liokaiser is pretty great.
But, if there's currently no evidence of a UW Liokaiser, it must be true that there won't be. After all, we had zero evidence of a new gun mode MP Megatron, or a CW Computron, or a Deluxe class figure for Groove, Wildrider or Slingshot in CW, or so many other figures that we absolutely, positively never, ever got or will ever get. So obviously, ' no evidence right now ' clearly means that something will never, ever happen. Ever.
Yes. It's the Zodiac seen within the Earth in the Zone OVA.hinomars19 wrote:Is the heart at the end the Zodiac from Zone? Specifically as depicted in the TV Magazine story pages once corrupted by Violenjiger?

I wouldn't call Mixmaster's feeble arm-flaps and Scrapper's empty thighs "only noticeable if you're tearing it apart". They're ugly as hell and reduce the structural integrity of the toy.Something is better than nothing.
I'd argue a disappointing product is actually worse than no product at all- at least with nothing there's a chance we'll get a good one later on, whereas we're not likely to get a better official Devastator for years now.Thank god transformers is a huge as it is and we get so much. Yes, yes, we get it, you're grateful for everything HasTak poops out no matter how objectively disappointing, like a good little consumer. That's fine but don't chastise the rest of us when we want something a little better. And guess what, HasTak aren't going to step up their game unless we tell them "This isn't good enough". Showering them with praise for everything they do isn't a healthy approach.

Nerither is buying IP infringed knock offs.
I'd rather have the actual character than something that doesn't come with the symbol
or their name.
They don't need to step up their game they're appeasing the majority.
Sure they're not going to make every grown man who buys toys happy but they are doing a great job.
I'm thankful we still get this stuff because we don't have to. They don't have to keep recreating classic toys. We're are not entitled to anything.

They aren't knockoffs though. Knockoffs steal existing molds and sell them as their own. Most 3rd party figures are entirely original engineering/molds, and thus by definition not knockoffs. As for IP infringement, so is figure customizing and fanart if we're getting technical about it.I'd rather have the actual character than something that doesn't come with the symbol
Ever heard of Reprolabels?or their name.
Yes, because "Ironbison" and "Fellbat" were TOTALLY the original character's names. They don't need to step up their game they're appeasing the majority.
So as long as the ignorant masses are happy everything is fine? What a terrible attitude to have.Sure they're not going to make every grown man who buys toys happy but they are doing a great job.
Evidently not, or else the 3P market wouldn't exist. And like it or not, those grown men are becoming a bigger and bigger part of HasTak's buyer base. If they don't make them happy they won't be around for much longer.I'm thankful we still get this stuff because we don't have to. They don't have to keep recreating classic toys. We're are not entitled to anything.
Actually, we are. We're the ones supporting the brand. If it weren't for us, they wouldn't exist. And they aren't entitled to my money or approval either. If they make a crappy product I'll take my money elsewhere. Myself I'm waiting to see what MechIdeas' Liokaiser will be like, or if Maketoys makes a Liokaiser. I own their Defensor and it's a billion times better than its HasTak counterpart.

I'd rather have the name and symbol on the toy than pay money to put it on myself.
It is a knock off because they're knocking off a character and I wish they weren't.
I don't buy 3rd parties and my collection is just fine.
I don't need to complain about $25 toy and then spend $100 on a chunk of plastic to make myself happy.
And no, you're not entitled to it. Nobody is forcing a grown man to buy toys. Simple as that.

That's not how knockoffs work.
You know, the Hasbro one is one of the nicest CW sets they did. New heads all around, great paint schemes (outside of the torso which is a little weird and Quickswitch-like), and a whole mess of paint on them. What would you expect to be so much better out of a UW release? And if your answer is "new molds", I've got bad news for your expectationsCommanderShadowmus wrote:NOOOO!!!! The Zodiac (from Zone) is the best guess I can find anywhere. By anywhere, I mean the amazing world of Japanese Transformers fans' Twitter accounts.Kurona wrote:So... Baldigus was the last UW release?

That's entirely how knockoffs work. Part of that is infringing on IPs, it isn't just about copying a figure and selling it at a dollar store. It's why Harmony Gold sues anyone (including Hasbro) for making figures that vaguely resemble a Robotech Valkyrie and usually get their way.
It's why Warner Brothers has a long history of having custom DC Comic characters removed from eBay. It's why a number of conventions have dropped their artist alleys or tightened rules on banning the sales of fanart.
Unofficially making something that looks like something you don't own the rights to make and then profiting from it is entirely illegal. Mattel can't make a figure of a robot that turns into a red semi truck and get away with it.
The only reason why Hasbro and Takara Tomy don't just crush all of the so-called "3rd parties" (I hate that term, they're bootleggers) is because it would cost more time, money, and resources to take them all to court overseas than they're loosing from letting them stay.
That's it. If Hasbro wanted to they would be entirely in their right to ask eBay to block their sales, ask online stores to stop carrying them (they've done that in the past), ask news sites to stop reporting on them (they've done that, too), have YouTube take down any reviews for them and basically wipe them off the internet,
but they wont because it's expensive and bad business.
