There's always that very popular toy that "everyone" adores, but one cannot help but hate.

And there's that toy that "everyone" hates and mock, but you can only love it.

What are those toys and why?

Universally loved but I hate:

Legacy voyager Tarn.

I don't really care for the character so I take the toy as face-value. Tarn looks fine in bot mode, but he's so skinny. The transformation is generic, but it does not feel good. Things are too tight and that clear plastics chest plate is way too fragile. The final tank mode is just disappointing.
The Bludgeon repaint is an insult.

Universally hated but I love:

AoE "First Edition" Silver Knight Optimus Prime.

He's too big, is a pure shellformer, and is barely screen accurate. But I think that bot look awesome. I love the SK deco because it's different and shiny. Plus the silly transformation is oddly satisfying to do. Yeah, he's "bad" but I love it.

I don't know about figures I like that others hate (I used to say Retrax, but the reissue pre-orders selling out in record time compared to his wavemate proved me wrong), but one I hate that others seem to universally love is definitely KSI Boss from the Age of Extinction line. It looks really good in bot mode, but isn't very articulate, is a chore to transform, and the jet mode isn't anything special. I've never actually fully transformed it because the right arm just didn't want to snap into place at all and I got annoyed and gave up on the figure, it will never be a jet. I can't even remember if I bought Thundercracker when it was deeply discounted on Amazon. I know a lot of people bought these for their Titan Master compatibility to give the diecast Titan Master Thunderwing a body, but I've only ever popped his head off out of frustration.

I did turned mine into Thunderwing with a full custom job with paint and stickers. He looks amazing in bot mode and the jet is not too bad.

However, he is indeed a bitch to transform.
