I'm not trying to be an ass, I just wanted to see how you pictured it.
Ok. I can't really redress the whole movie in a snap. So i'm just gonna suggest a few piece by piece changes to different parts of the movie.
First option: Stay with Bay's Allspark storyline.
1.) Megatron should not have been frozen in the Arctic for thousands, maybe even millions, of years. It makes no sense to have the Decepticons without a leader for such a long time. And yet, Starscream or someone else didn't even attempt to take over. And the Autobots didn't take this opportunity to end the war decisively.
2.) The war could have continued in Cybertron, OR each faction could have gone different ways to try to search for the Allspark.
3.) The Allspark, meanwhile, have landed on Earth eons ago, and discovered lately. Experimentation or mishandling by scientist, triggered a signal of some sort, alerting the Transformers of its presence on Earth. You can have Ron Witwicky making the discovery to tie his family's destiny to the Autobots.
4.) Or it could have been discovered decades ago, as in the movie. Grandfather Witwicky could have accidentally tweak something in the Allspark that burn Cybertronian script on his eyeglasses, plus some other clues.
5.) Military scenes should be short, in passing only, before Blackout arrives.
6.) Most of the transformation, especially Prime, should be shot at wide angle. So we can fully appreciate their transformations.
7.) Transformers have much more conversations. Making them really alive, and the story revolves around them.
8.) Code breaking bit of the Blonde chick and Black dude, should be shorten. Make them more serious, with bits of humor thrown in.
9.) S7 guys comes into Sam's house, a couple of short lines, and the entire family whisked away. Exercising absolute authority, so they need not asked too many questions. Very much like secret agent or CIA stuff. Not dragging.
10.) Prime should not have grabbed and crumpled the S7 GMC vehicle in such a brutish manner. Prime should exercise more confidence and finesse. He should always exert effort to avoid harming life and property. Just like a righteous leader should be. Prime and the Autobots, in vehicle mode, caught up and surrounded the convooy or blocked the highway, to force the S7 convoy to stop. Then Prime transforms infront of them, and tells them to release the kids. S7 guys all pour out from the vehicles in full battle gear. That's the time all Autobots transform and disarm them.
11.) I'm thinking of only Bumblebee, Barricade and Bonecrusher, possibly add Blackout, originally on Earth. There could be a fight between Bumblebee and Barricade, with BB winning, as in the movie. But Bonecrusher arrives and delivers a blow to BB, damaging his voice box.
12.) Starscream and Brawl entered Earth, falling near military base. We can see them scanning an F-22 and a tank. Then followed closely by Megatron. He could remain as is, not giving any importance to disguises, in a hurry to get to the Allspark. But i prefer he picks up an Earth alt mode too. (Then we'll have much better Megatron toy)
13.) The Autobots should be on the ground, instead of jumping around on top of that white building, discussing about the Allspark. When they're done, Prime commands, "Autobots, transform and roll out!", or simply "Autobots, roll out!". Then one after the other, or all at the same time... camera zooms out.. Autobots transforms in vehicle mode and rolls out.
14.) When BB's leg was severed, Jazz transforms to help him up, or stand in front of him, as if to protect him.
15.) Sam needs to get to the white building. Ironhide says, "We will protect you". Then Ironhide transforms into topkick, "Sam, get in". Zooms to the building at top speed, door opens, drops Sam out, transforms into robot and pump the bullets away... all in a very quick action sequence.
16.) Prime and Megatron fights a see-saw battle, each showing equal strength. Human's F-22 (possibly plus Starscream) hit Megatron, giving Prime a temporary upper hand. Blackout successfully delivers a hard blow to Prime from behind, turning back the advantage to Megatron. While Lennox guys attacks Blackout to pull him away from Prime.
17.) When BB was down with the severed leg, something must have attacked again, making BB drop the cube, thereby robbing him the chance of curing himself with it. Instead of holding on to the cube and refusing to use it to cure his own severed leg. Quite illogical and absurd.
18.) Jazz and Megatron's fight should be a bit longer and with more substance. Not just one rip, and Jazz is dead. And please delete or change the "Want a piece of me?" line.
I can go on with a lot more. But i'll be like spraying bullets and hitting nothing here. So maybe suggest some scenes that i can give my own ideas to.
Second Option: Pick up more ideas from original Transformers story.
1. Instead of Allspark, should have been some part of Cybertron, as in the "heart" which gives life to Transformers (only), stolen, and in the ensuing effort to retrieve it, a battle began, and it was lost to space.
2. Instead of a sacred object, the story can also revolve around the dying Cybertron planet, due to the unending war. And the need to find energy sources, and the eventually arrival on Earth. The sacred object, such as Allspark, can be introduced in Movie #2.
3. Yeah, Energon cubes won't do in a live action movie. Instead, Decepticons seeking some elements, such as Uranium, Plutonium, or other exotic real-life or imaginary elements, which is not found or probably depleted on Cybertron. Or something from Earth's core, which when taken or disturbed could cause catastrophic calamities on Earth, or even destroy Earth.
4. Sam's family's involvement should be more serious. Especially the father. With both giving significant help to the Autobots. In terms of logistics or Earth-crucial information.
5. Megatron should use strategy and tactics. He should be more of a cunning, calculating leader. Instead of blindly and bullishly barreling into the line of fire.
How is it so far? Please give comments. So i can have some sort of direction.
