Some sort of Powermaster Optimus Prime modern remake. Something like a Generations Leader class that's a deluxe sized small robot/cab that combines with the trailer to make the leader sized big robot would be swell. I wouldn't particularly care if it had the apex armor/godbomber component or not. Probably not, so the rest could be made better, not skimped on. The little powermaster guy would kinda be a must, though.

But I don't know if they could even make it work if they wanted to with the current price points. And without the small robot it would be lame. Maybe a masterpiece would be more possible (not that I see it happening), but dang, I can't afford those.

Hasbro did confirm we'll be getting 16 Deluxes, and we already have 2 times 4 teams. Having a 6-member team would not work out in the overall count.

And that would pretty much kill Ruination as well, since even if they did Combaticons, they'd do an Autobot team to balance it out. Hasbro's almost always made more Autobots than Decepticons, and when they don't, it's still usually even rather than having more Decepticons than Autobots. Rarely, if ever, do we have a surplus of 'cons.

Since they have a voyager Optimus sharing Motormaster's mold, would it be possiblr for them to do a voyager Wing Saber or Apex Bomber or whatever to combine with him, and call the combined form Omega Prime? Otherwise that Optimus is a little pointless.

You now there's a pic of Optimus just combining with a bunch of robots. Combiners don't always have to be a homage to something done before.

It's like I'm the only one who remember this image.

The legs look like Aerialbots, it's possible he's borrowing limbs from one of the teams.

And it's Generations, most of it IS going to be G1 homages/retreads. Not that there's a lack of those in the cartoon-based toylines either, mind you.

I was just thinking, now that we have a Generations toy of Armada Starscream, why not throw in a Transformers: Cybertron character or two?

For instance, Override is a character whose toy I'd like to see revisited. Her original was mostly fine, but the arms were far too short.

Plus, Cybertron is what was in when I was a kid, so I'm somewhat partial to it.

Dude, Override is actually a MAN. In the original Japanese version, he's Speedo Convoy or something. The cause of Override's sex change was just because Cartoon Network wanted more fembots in the series so for the English dub, they rewrite that manly bot a female. That's a very weird descision because Speedo look NOTHING like a female. Especially not the toy, with those huge, huge shoulders.
The original toy is total crap also. I have it and it stink. A deluxe revisit without silly gimmicks would be great. Not impossible, but the probabilities are low. Still, we did get BM Tankor so...

One thing that I would like to see is a "rule 63d" Override. Meaning a deluxe that hommage the original character, with the same vehicle, but SHE transform into an actual fembot with lotsa curves. Her robot mode would be totally different from the original toy, but you would recognise the character instantly.
That is a toy I'd like to have but I know for sure that Hasbro will never make.

If they did playsets, I'd want an Axalon and Darksyde. But most of the love Hasbro shows goes to either retro-G1 or Bayformers, so BW playsets seem doubly unlikely.

Seacons. The poor Seacons never get any love. If we do get Seacons they'll most likely leave out Nautilator and the targetmaster gimmick.

(Also I would totally be down for Tentakil being a fembot and Nautilator being pretty androgynous. Just sayin'.)

Yeah, I agree. The idea of the Masterpiece line is to emulate the show as much as possible with some toy hommage as well (some more than others, like Megatron). The way Cybertron and Galaxy Force were concieved, the animation models were made to replicate the toys right down to the screw holes. Any difference on the toys would makes them less show accurate for the most part (with the exception of Override I think, oh and his name on Galaxy Force is Nitro Convoy).

That's why I love that line and all those original molds made for the line. In a way, they are all mini masterpices and they are the very last line with a wide release states side to be designed by Takara and not solely by Hasbro.

But like I said, a generations Override would be really sweet.

I believe this to be true.
I consider myself to have a keen eye for Takara design esthetics. Everything I know about the history of their design says it was all Takara. I know Armada and Energon were joint ventures because those designs have A. Archer written all over them.
Here in the forum I asked if Cybertron/Galaxy Force where solely designed by Takara and someone who always comes in with the right answer(maybe shajaki,sabrblade,or Jelze. can't remember) said Cybertron was also a joint venture.
I love Japanese robot design, and Takara has always been my favorite. For my own satisfaction, I would like to get to the bottom of this.
What do you guys know?

Cybertron / Galaxy Force was a joint venture as well, but one that suffered the most in the planning stages. Put short, Hasbro went the planned way, but TakaraTomy who was in charge of outsourcing animation went another. The result was that in Japan, Galaxy Force became another reboot or stand-alone series (but that was retconed into a Superlink sequel years later), with animation to match. That left Hasbro to pick up the pieces with the dub.
That the designs look "Japanese" is no coincidence, some were inspired by animes like King of Braves GaoGaiGar: Hot Shot, Optimus Prime and Leobreaker had similar transformations or designs to mechs from that particular anime.

The line was a joint venture sure, but were the designs made by both or Takara principally? And is that the last line to have part of the design done by Takara?

I know the Japanese character on whom the original yellow Power Ranger was based is male, but I'm still going to call her Trini because she was clearly established as female in the one I actually watched.

That's a good point. The line may have been developed from a business standpoint jointly, but the actual design fell to Takara.
Have you guys ever seen a Takara toy line called Webdiver? They were transforming robots with a built in video game gimmick. If you hold them next to some of the Cybertron figures you might not know they aren't. Well they share some really interesting similarities. Maybe they were both designed by the same designer.
I have them. When I get a minute I'll take some comparison shots.
Point is the Webdiver had nothing to do with Hasbro.
