Dude, Override is actually a MAN. In the original Japanese version, he's Speedo Convoy or something. The cause of Override's sex change was just because Cartoon Network wanted more fembots in the series so for the English dub, they rewrite that manly bot a female. That's a very weird descision because Speedo look NOTHING like a female.

Certainly not for Override/Nitro Convoy. Beast Wars was way before Cybertron/Galaxy Force.

Japan does not like the "strong, tough female" archetype. That's why Arcee was dumbed down in Headmasters, and Airazor was made male in the Beast Wars dub... Only having to explain away all the flirty scene with limited results, especially in "Other Visits". In an ironic twist, the Beast Wars Metals manga actually kept Airazor female, but like all characters, she got a bit of a makeover:

To be fair, it's not that Japan doesn't like strong and tough female characters- Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter of Sailor Moon fame, Ryuuko Matoi from Kill la Kill, a lot of female Gundam characters (especially from the UC era), Saki Asamiya from the cult 1985 TV drama Sukeban Deka, and many, many others would disagree. The truth is that in Shounen anime/manga in particular, the producers feel that a strong female protagonist wouldn't sell as well to the target demographic (young boys). Whether they're right is up for debate, but it's also worth remembering that the Japanese localization of Beast Wars and Beast Machines are disliked by a lot of Japanese fans, including Hirofumi Ichikiwa. As for Arcee in Headmasters, I can't really comment as I haven't watched Headmasters or Season 3, but I'm pretty sure Arcee never really did anything in the original cartoon anyway beyond being the token fembot (because let's be honest, the G1 cartoon was never exactly the pinnacle of good writing).

With combiner wars on the horizon, I think it'd be a good time for Hasbro to import the "Go" combiners, possibly as store exclusives. Change the sound chips so they speak English or have sound effects rather than speaking Japanese, recolor them if so chosen. It'd be a good opportunity for them to do trademark retention, too, since there's seven individual robots and a total of eight different combined forms.

Seven? Are you counting ex prime in with that? I would like to have those molds though, I'm a sucker for combiners...especially if they combine like getter robo would also be nice if they released the recoloured abominus that japan got for the go range...actually I want all the Predacons that were released for go.

Yes, I'm counting ExPrime, otherwise it'd be six guys, six combined forms.

I wouldn't mind the Predacons either, but I can live without them, since they're molds I lready have except for the new heads. But it would be nice to see the Predacon faction continue on and have some guys wearing a badge other than the standard Autobot or Decepticon sigils.

Yeah, that was me. I said it again over here because nobody seemed to care about it in the other thread and I figured this might be a better place for the sentiment.

Anyhow, there could be one price point for the standard guys and another for the leaders who have lights and sounds.

I'll draw up a list of suggested names later if I remember to.

Confirmed. I will NEVER get my Generations Gobots line.

There will most likely never be a Flip Sides MP cassette, and if there is it will just be a repaint of Rewind/Eject (if MP Blaster ever comes out) rather than a more feminine design.

I totally want a female Decepticon Cassette to make a proper appearence in fiction...

Does soundwave even have cassette minions any more? Can't say I've seen rumble or frenzy...tell a lie ravage is still there.

Maybe in the next continuity she can get a look in...her and slipstream.

Arent the regular BH Optimus voyager already show accurate as it is? Also, they could have added Hardshell along optimus and predaking as a Cyberverse Commander upscale to ultra class with improvements. Now, they never will.

To be fair, we'll be getting a accurate IDW prime as they'll change his model to look like the toy once combiner wars starts up.

Also a female Dino bot? That's the oneone group where I don't mind it being all male

It is kinda show accurate..yesssssss BUT BH Voyager optimus is not as beefy as his show counterpart. Oh and speaking of BH OP,I would like one that looks like
