Looking at my G1 Megatron. what do y'all think? Is the entire figure painted silver, or cast in silver plastic?
The over all tone and texture is really nice.

I'm no expert or nothin... but he's shiny. Chrome. And I don't think you can cast in chrome... it has to be painted on right?

Think all you might have to do is use a screw driver to take apart the toy in several areas on the toy. Then look underneath to see if the parts were cast in that plastic color. Or if some of the parts received paints applications.

Don't own the toy yet. As I'm having a hard time finding it in stores.

You know what? I just realized the minicon posts aren't painted, but they're not separate pieces either. So that answers that. Jeez! That's a ton of paint!

No it isn't. It's no more any kind of Transformers toy than any other third party stuff is.

That's debatable. From a legal trademark standpoint, sure. Any toy that transforms from one form to another, and faithfully represents a beloved character though, I would say Is a transformer.

I'm with Sabrblade on this one. Quakewave, while a fine piece, is NOT a Masterpiece. This was the reason I sold mine a while ago, regardless of whether we're getting an actual Masterpiece Shockwave or not. Between Quakewave and the original G1 Shockwave, I'd rather have the original. It's more accurate. Quakewave's lower legs are too thick, his chest is too high, and his shade of purple is off. A Masterpiece wouldn't have these problems.

Yeah, and its lower legs are a bit thin. But it looks good in space cannon mode, which Quakewave also doesn't do.

It IS painted (the CW Megatron that is)! I'm sure we all knew that but I do have some paint rub on the left thigh where the knee/shin locks into place.

Oh yeah, it's been a couple of weeks since I had him. The very first REAL re-issue. Used, but 100% complete with paperworks, box, acessories, and unnaplied stickers. For a great price too! 160$CAN shipped, no customs!
Lemme tell you, I was blown away by that figure. I avoided it for so lond because of the derpy looking bot mode and the prohibitive prices for a complete one. But now that I indulged, no regrets at all! The gun feel REAL and hefty with all that diecast, plus it IS perfect looking. The transformation sceme is awesome and claver and fun to do, plus I DO love the bot mode, even if he look like an aborted foetus.

Any G1 and/or Megatron fans should have a G1 Megs in their collection.

It's not Encore. Look at the box in the image above. Encore go for an absurd price and that one wasnt better either. I just happen to be the only bidder on a slighlt used one. Talk about lucky because I could easely have paid 200-350$ for a REISSUE.

Oh, and mine DOES have the firing mechanism, with 2 sheets of bullets included. I won't dare using them, but the trigger feel solid and give out a very looud and satisfying TWNAG! It also come with a weird-ass gun and sword that I also left in the box.

It's nice when you pick up a steal (balances all of the other spending) My figure isn't as cool but that's how I got Energon Galvatron. I was the only bidder, description stated it wasn't "complete" as it was missing the blade attached to the tank. Opened package, but mint everything. I think I got it for $40 shipped maybe 5 years ago? Opened it up, tank had the blade in storage! Very cool figure.
