Rodimus Prime wrote:Sign me up for Nightbeat as well. And since we got Spinister from Siege and Needlenose in Legacy, with Selects Windsweeper apparently coming, all we need is Ruckus for Thunderwing's crew. And of course Thunderwing himself. And he better be a voyager or a leader if they somehow manage to add some half-assed Pretender shell to a voyager or deluxe sized figure.
Sabrblade wrote:Let's also not forget that Diaclone Topspin was among the rumored listings from back when we first heard about Antagony, and was slated for the Amazon Wreckers set before it got cut, so he could be the unknown Headmaster since he was to be a redeco of the Titans Return figure.
Nemesis Primal wrote:The initial Legacy rumors also said we'd be getting Leader Straxus, Deluxe Nightbeat, Deluxe Hosehead, and Selects Deluxe Siren, and leakers have been hinting/indicating that those figures are still planned and just got pushed further down the pipeline, so there's that late G1 you ordered.

Not sure if it'll be a new mold or a redeco/retool, but it'd be nice to have something that skews closer to his original look. I have the TFSS from a while back, and while I love that figure (I love the CW jet molds in general) a modern update would be appreciated, much like Crankcase's new figure. Hopefully this means Ruckus will be updated too.
I'm betting Windsweeper will be from the Needlenose mold and doubtful it will have working "trigger" action considering Crankcase didn't. As for Ruckus... I'd say that's a strong possibility since we're getting a Deluxe Beachcomber this year and transformation and mold are basically the same. Of course it'll probably be an Amazon or Target Exclusive and also won't have "trigger" action either. And if we get Ruckus, let's hope Hasbro has plans to eventually give us the Triggerbots: Dogfight, Backstreet, and Override.
Few things to remember about this:Emerje wrote:I remember clearly that back around the time we first heard about Minerva, maybe even before, there was a leak that said we'd be getting Headmasters Juniors in Legacy. I think it was Nightbeat and Hosehead at retail and Siren in Selects and I believe there was mention of Goshooter as well.
Just checked and Nemesis Primal did a follow in March 2022:Nemesis Primal wrote:The initial Legacy rumors also said we'd be getting Leader Straxus, Deluxe Nightbeat, Deluxe Hosehead, and Selects Deluxe Siren, and leakers have been hinting/indicating that those figures are still planned and just got pushed further down the pipeline, so there's that late G1 you ordered.
So a late 2023 Selects Siren followed by the other two in 2024 is still a possibility.

Not bad for reuse of Crankcase and I'm tempted to get. That said I'm slightly unnerved they made him before First Aid. lol
I'm guessing he'll be able to take part in forming Defensor? I realize this is Rescue Bots release but Medix was a backup Protectobot.

Still, if we go way back at Combiners Wars, thebox sets always came with a legends/scout figure. G2 Superion came with Powerglide, Computron came with a new "Cosmos", and so on. So I wonder what T30 Legends would have come with a Defensor box set? That little guy could have been Medix. Maybe as a T30 Legends Swerve/Gears repaint?

We already know the legends for Defensor from Hasbro. A G2 Defensor would have had Groove as the legends figure and Rook as the leg since deluxe Groove was a Takara thing.

-Yes, rumors and listings of Minerva came well after the rumors for rest of the Headmaster JRs, leading us to all assume she'd be a Nightbeat retool when her listing showed up and then be confused when no Nightbeat appeared in the store leaks
-The initial rumors of the Headmaster Jrs specified that the Selects Siren would be a retool of Nightbeat (much to the chagrin of the accuracy-valuing portion of the community at the time), so if Siren is that mystery listing then either it'd be the first time a Selects figure preceded the original mold, or Siren is no longer based off of that mold
-Goshooter was never at any point rumored like those others, just speculated, because people went "Siren-from-Nightbeat doesn't make sense, maybe there's a retail Goshooter that'll actually be the basis for it"
Emerje wrote:BUT I still don't think it'll be Topspin, I think Amazon still has the rights to that figure.

Emerje wrote:Knowing that Medix is the Walgreens exclusive makes me think Hasbro is running out of doctor characters. Micromaster Fixit (with Seawatch) from Pipo (and Boater) are the first ting to come to mind that might work, I think most of us agree that that set isn't technically part of HasLab. Throw in another character to bring the price up? Or Paradron/lifeline Medic from SS86 Arcee? Or CatSCAN from SS ROTB Cheetor? Those are the only easy ones I can think of. There's a ton of them listed on TFWiki, but most of those are either more obscure than even Medix, too hard to translate into figures, or evil.Nemesis Primal wrote:Few things to remember about this:Emerje wrote:I remember clearly that back around the time we first heard about Minerva, maybe even before, there was a leak that said we'd be getting Headmasters Juniors in Legacy. Yeah, a Selects figure getting the jump on the retail use is the only thing that holds that theory back. If it does happen maybe we can just credit it to the timing of things being pushed back? Yeah, it's starting to feel less likely, BUT I still don't think it'll be Topspin, I think Amazon still has the rights to that figure.

Why would Amazon get exclusive rights to something that was just a redeco? There was no new tooling inovolved.
sol magnus wrote:Heck, I'm just geeked we're still getting any exclusives because Walgreens was supposedly getting out of that game.
o.supreme wrote:^Wiki is your friend. Windsweeper was late Original Series. I have the TFCC CW version ( from an aerialbot) so I'm good. I only know about Antagony because she was the Botcon exclusive at the first convention I attended back in 1998. That was an awesome show. Lots of BW actors and creators. I remember the script reading being especially fun that year.

Is there any chance it's a reissue of Arcee or Grotusque? Admittedly it's not labeled PR, which has me leaning towards "no", but OTOH they were Hasbro exclusives so maybe they wouldn't get that label.

In selects, I don't think Horri-bull would work since they have all been just redecos without new tooling (aside from Black Zarak).
However a re-release of Arcee or Grotesque without the die cast headmaster would indeed be a new package and not a refresh, so one of those could work.
SpaceEagle wrote:On the topic of more medic characters for Walgreens exclusives - I wonder if they'd dip into Decepticon medics. Yeah they're the baddies and probably would feel out of place...but I just really would like a figure of Flatline.
Emerje wrote:sol magnus wrote:Heck, I'm just geeked we're still getting any exclusives because Walgreens was supposedly getting out of that game.
That was entirely on Scott Neitlich once again becoming highly reactionary to small changes in the industry. He basically said because this one guy he knows that worked on getting exclusives for Walgreens left that Walgreens was definitely done with them and used the lack of of them in stores in 2021 as proof, entirely ignoring that we were over two years into a pandemic that had distribution screwed up everywhere when he said that and that Marvel Legends exclusives WERE in stores in 2021 (saw them myself).
And yes, I totally forgot about Bluestreak at Walgreens.

InterestingAside from the head, was there any other colour differences?
