Small haul this week. No weapons, no battery cover, stickers are shot and the legs and feet are a bit wobbly but Soundblaster Jr. makes a nice addition to the slowly growing incomplete-Japanese-exclusive collection (now totalling four)

Reminds me of the time I picked up an original G1 Soundwave at what Americans call a thrift store without cassettes, weapons, it was scratched up but still in one piece.

Finally found Kingdom Core Soundwave in the wild, so no need to track him down and pay a ridiculous price for him. Great little figure. Made me realise that the original G1 Soundwave had such a simplistic transformation that is near on perfect and definitely doesn't need to be reinvented as many other characters from that time have been.

It's X-Mass season already so I went to Winners and Marshall's to see what they got.

So, at Marshall's I found a Vintage BW toy that I skipped but at 17$CAN, it's a keeper: Rattrap.

hit a bunch of stores today, but only found two Transformers worth buying. Big Lots had Authentics "Alpha" Wheeljack, looks like a pretty good figure for $10. At Five Below I finally found an Authentics "Bravo" Arcee, been looking for her since she was first discovered.

I don't really understand Authentics assortments, they seem to always be wave 1 and 2 plus the newest figure. So you always have Optimus, Megatron, Grimlock and Bumblebee (and Starscream in "Bravo") and then whatever the newest figure is, instead of the most recent figures plus Optimus and Bumblebee since those are the most likely to sell. That means the newest figures are just one and done, you don't get a second shot at them later which is really strange to me.

Went out looking for Pointblank and Skullgrin, with Stunticon limbs as fallback "maybes"; no luck. I think maybe Red Cog should have been Selects, or failing that had a blurb on his box proclaiming that he costs more than a Deluxe. Obviously his own peg has the right price label, but he's in a Deluxe box and has overflowed onto Deluxe pegs at multiple Targets, so I'm pretty sure several parents have grabbed him only to balk when they get to the register. Also, because of that overflow he and Prime Arcee are both slowing down new Deluxes getting out on shelves.


They did however have the SIEGE Soundwave reissue, and Voyagers were $23 US so I decided "screw it" and got him.

And having him in hand, I think Hasbro should just make a new tape deck Soundwave (possibly as a Blaster reshell) and let the Netflix version of this mold rot (or reclaim the metal). Not only is this (and consequently the Netflix retool) underheight (something I knew from pics)... the tape door is lousy and I don't know that there's sufficient depth in the chest for it to be made to not suck, at least without it bulging.
At least with the SIEGE version of this mold, there's the new altmode and such to play with. So I'm tentatively okay having got him. For a tape deck Soundwave... I'm sticking to (and maybe kitbashing, idk) G1 for the foreseeable future.

The mold is positively fantastic. It is by far the best leader from Legacy so far.

Why not both?

I say get the Botcon one ASAP if you find the price to be palatable. As for the Legacy one, if you're not in a hurry nor have FOMO, you could always wait for a sale.

I've yet to unpack and fiddle with mine. Once I do, I'll tell my impressions in the Legacy thread.

I say do not hold out for it, but considering that Beast Megs have been repainted twice, Cryothech Dragon Megs is pretty likely.

Got a couple of bots tonight. Galaxy Shuttle arrived just in time for Star Saber, and Skywarp is waiting on Rock n' Roll, one of only 2 classified figures I am considering (Chuckles being the other) solely for stupid reasons, I don't like GI joe that much.

I always tell myself I never left the collecting habit, I'm just very very picky with what I buy, limiting myself to certain groups like Weaponizers. The misses made a trip to Sally's, Ross was nearby so I took a look, and netted myself this:

War for Cybertron Kingdom: WFC-K33 Autobot Slammer

Fun little dude, tho mine has a somewhat loose right shoulder pin, probably not in all the way (my pet peeve with pinned joints). I can definitely see he reuses parts of Earthrise Ironworks, namely the thighs, hips and shoulder joints. Now I'm wishing I didn't pass on Six-Gun, but Target never clearanced him!!!

I also saw Tigatron, Rhinox, Airazor, Blackarachnia (lots of Beasts... ) and the Sideswipe & Skywarp 2-pack there, plenty of choice.

Speaking of pins, I really wish SIEGE Mirage's waist was closed by screws instead.

So, my most recent acquisition (arrived during the week, but I was too busy to share)...

...is SIEGE Rung. I didn't really have a whole lot of interest in Rung. But then I discovered a certain something on Twitter that changed that, and I managed to win him for cheap.


I still haven't had any luck finding an Omega Lock in my price range (when there's one listed at all), and the friend who was going to 3D print me one still hasn't (for various reasons)... but at least I have a substitute for transformation purposes now.
