Got a couple packages in. My 3 Earthspark deluxes arrived, as did my 3P Airachnid, movie Skydive, and G2 Roadblock! I was really excited for Megatron and Roadblock particularly, both lived up to the hype. Airachnid kinda sucks sadly, but Skydive definitely has improved QC from Slingshot. Also, Roadblock has his missiles coming in, got them nice and cheap.

How fortuitous that Skullgrin should be in discussion, mine (a gift) finally arrived yesterday. I like him, but he needs some work to be entirely satisfactory. Someone has posted a file on Cults3D for one key part of it, so that's nice, but I'll have to do the intermediate piece for the treads myself.

Or perhaps monkeyed less with the transformation compared to the original.

I'd say it's less a case of "too lazy" and more a case of "spending the mental effort and parts budget that should have gone to wheels on polluting the robot with shell details".

The other issue is that - as seen here - Mark Maher used a poor reference for the altmode: the Marvel Comics model, which removes the rearward flare the original toy has.

G1 Skullgrin was a nice little block of death. The Legacy one spend many, many steps just to be the bot lying on its back. How in the nine Hells did this happen? #-o

A 3D printed upgraded kit that would be a wheel that plug into the 5mm peg holes of the bot's feet in vehicle mode would mostly fix the problem. That thing in bot mode could be a shield or something.

But it's pretty exciting to have all of these guys now (minus my second copy of Dead End. But he's been ordered).

I won't open the second set until I'm closer to being ready to make the diorama for them (which will usually have them in their vehicle modes).

Be careful with that racecar's squirt gun. On mine, the peg was brittle and broke in its hands. That was an easy mod to fix but still.

Got my cartoon colors G1 Starscream from Walmart.com yesterday. What's interesting is is they actually shipped it in the toys stock box just with Walmart tape closing it back up. Apparently these come four to a box, but Walmart being Walmart they couldn't be bothered to put any padding in there so it's not in the best shape.

Still suck that they didn't care when shipping on your end. Mine came in a random box with lots of paper padding.
Regardless, those "g1" boxes are meant to be open and trashed anyway.

As an aside, I'm still not over how stupid Dirt Boss' Japanese name is.
