I dont think I'm making my self clear. And I'm not getting upset but what you guys need to understand is that at the time of my buy the toy I HAD NO IDEA HOW MUCH HE WAS!!!!!!!!!

I had seen a few auctions for the same toy on ebay end at price's of between $41 and $56 bucks.....and we know that a lot of figures are sold on ebay for Dubble their retail price.....more offten with the bigger one's.
So in my head I thought that the figure might have been as low as $29.99 or as high as $55.00 bucks.
So yeah when I heard $19.99 I thought there might be a mistake but it could have also been a early bird special or a store wide discount. The same Target were selling the first wave of TF clasic's at $6.99 for the first 3 weeks with singege stating it was an early release special.
It wasnt untill I posted it here that I found out just how much a deal that I got.
As for your "hypothetical".....That also happened while buying the item. The cashier while givving me my change gave me back my $50 bill in place of a $5 bill. When I notice it after walking away ,my daughter pointed it out cause she took the change to by a slurpy, we returned to the cashier an told her about the mistake she quickly count her draw and she was $50 short so we gave it back to her.....And you know what?????She turned around and kissed me and bought us lunch for our trouble.
The difference here is taking money knowingly in error is wrong but taking a lower price for somthing that you had no idea of the price is not.

About the only thing I could be accused of doing wrong in this case is that I have not taken it back NOW that I know what the price should be.

Your story keeps getting better and better. So was she cute?

Sledge wrote:Sto: you did nothing wrong. Hell, if it had been me, I'd have got all the cash together I could, bought all their stock, and hit ebay with them.

Lapse: ok, what would you have done? You're interested in an item, you get a price check and it comes back lower than you think it "should" be. What would you do, assuming you could reach the checkout from atop your ivory tower?

The ivory tower point was uncalled for and a low blow. It shows you have not been reading what I have written in any of my posts past the few triggers that caused your responses to me. If you are going to say something like that, at least do it somewhere where you can back it up. Let's look at sme of my past quotes:

Lapse of Reason wrote:I'm not professing to stand on any moral high ground anyway.

Lapse of Reason wrote:Not to say I would not have done the same thing, I just do not hold the action in a positive light. If it were me walking out, I'd be excited about it too as I relished in a selfish form of delight. I can live with the guilt. It's like getting away with something for nothing.

Lapse of Reason wrote:I'm no better than Sto, I'm just calling out the action for what it truly is...

Now, to answer your question, I would have bought all of them and inquired about getting a rain check once I bought all their stock. They'd all be up on eBay, minus one or two returned to WalMart for a store credit gift card. I am an opportunist and take advantage of store screw-ups, clearance sales, and whenever an item of value seems like it won't scan at the right price at a price check scanner, I take it to the cashier to see what I can negotiate. I was one of the stronger supporters of the so-called "scalpers" in the scalper thread and maintain a pretty active eBay side business for myself.

I don't profess what I do is morally right according to my value system, but I can live happliy in my peaceful shade of gray with little guilt. I just don't say what I do is "right" or have "the little guy's revenge on big business" type of attitude. I know right from wrong, and sometimes doing wrong can feel so awfully good. Especially if it makes me money.

Actually, it was meant to turn the heat down a bit and point out that discussions here are all just a fun little diversion. I was trying to lighten things up.

I see your point about how it could be taken wrong, but since you don't know me either you could not have known that if I thought your story was BS, I would have called you on it if I felt it was worth the time.

Seriously, I don't know if what you said about this was true or fantasy, and could really care less. I'll take what you write at face value. No mistrust from me, just no trust either. I sort of exist in a peaceful state of ambivalence when it comes to believing posters on an online message board.

And I'm not interested from kisses from "butch" girls. I'm happily married with kids anyway.

Maybe we do. I actually enjoy debate, although some of the "debates" here never seem to end with anything productive. Which is a shame, because then people resort to name-calling and being rude, all the enjoyment of the debate quickly turns sour, and then the thread gets locked. :(

Can you imagine two guys sitting in a bar getting in a fist fight over an argument about the price one paid for an Ultimate Bumblebee toy!

I think the debates and heated discussions that come up on Seibertron would be laughable at best if they occured in a face to face setting. We'd more likely be too busy chugging beers, talking Transformers, and having heated smackdowns over games of Street Fighter II.

UBB has like triple the features. Leader figures are just that, big, with extremely primitive electronics. You can't even compare the 2.
