Well, look at it this way: I think the general intent is to get as many tactic combinations as possible. Each alt carries 3 tactics in v2, and when you consider the number of tactics in the new game (a lot), and also the fact that the order of the tactics assigned to the alts is variable... Bingo. I'm also trying to get a different feel for each side. For example, the Autobots have air vehicles that can multi-repair because it's more "Autobot-ish" to have some who are willing to heal rather than fight. The cons shuttle only repairs one at a time because most decepticons would rather cause damage than fix it.

No offense, but in my mind, the whole reorganization still comes in my mind as the developers practicing the old mantra, "If it ain't broke, BREAK IT!" Not to say that some alt classes, like land animals, don't need to be a little less general, but in some cases, it just seems like overkill.

I also suspect that, even if players go :MAX: or :PRED:, that they'll still prefer land and air vehicle alts over animal alts, as they have since at least I started playing (Glyph did on chart on that a while back ago). I may be wrong, but that's just how I feel.

Take a close look - Tankor is in a different class to CATalyst. The latter is Burn's kitbash based on the former.

EDIT: I should probably clarify what I actually mean... If the cons had something similar to that, there's no reason it couldn't be in a different class.

I would like to request that these two icons(Image, Image) be made available to Maximal alt classes aside from the targetmaster/headmaster classes they are currently in. These are very interesting designs I may very well want to use, but I have always hated the *master concept with a passion. It would make my day to have these made available elsewhere.

Also I would like to request these alts from the Autobot side for some added variety to our current selection of robotic looking animals(Image, Image) as well as the movie Arcee icon(Image) and the Archangel(Image) to give us a motorcycle alt and large ship alt respectively.

But I would trade all those Autobot alts for the Tachikoma alt. mode(Image) for the maximals. :x

It is more the idea of two independent parts that bugs me. Oddly enough though I am ok with geshstalts... :-? But back to point, I would prefer they be duplicated into other animal classes like heroic or tough so I can utilize three tactics. :-B

Just think of the master tactics as being entirely unrelated to the concept of masters. The in-game execution seems to be based around enhancing the character's basic attacks.
