Holy cow, you're right. The Autobots got most of the hefty figures that weren't combiners (Jetfire, Omega Supreme, Sky Lynx were all big figs without being combiners). The only truly tall non-combiner figure I remember was Galvatron so he could go against Ultra Magnus.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Deathsaurus and Thunderwing would be my two picks for a Decepticon Commander Class figure. Thunderwing because they could potentially tool him to be like Star Saber in terms of transformation, and get a sorta Pretender design for him, while also setting up Star Saber, and Deathsaurus because I'd love for a big chunky murder chicken figure

Also, I know Lugnut was depicted as big, but was he really that big? I thought he would be closer to PW Leader sized?

Exactly. It is weird that Omega Supreme and Skylynx existed without a Decepticon counterpart? Often paired off against Gestalts and/or Buzzsaw...

Well in terms of the 84 characters it made sense that omega would go against Devastator. Sky lynx is a bit harder but as he came from a different toyline anyway they may have thought it easier to just pair him against predaking

Lugnut is...kinda hard to pin down, because his scale wasn't super consistent throughout Animated, but from what I remember/can tell, the only characters bigger than Lugnut were Omega and the Lugnut Supremes (obviously), Blackout (because he was MASSIVE for some reason the only time he actually showed up on the show), and pooossibly Grandus? He was consistently at least a meter taller than Megatron and significantly bulkier. The excellent RTS Lugnut I never managed to get balanced that out by making him tall but not as bulky, giving him a more realistic alt mode, and limiting his arsenal.

If we did get him at Commander class, then he could presumably be PWT Leader height AND bulky while also having his big ol' plane tail mace, some bomb pods or something, and a big punch/explosion blast effect, it would fulfill the apparent need of a bad guy for that class, and if there was still leftover plastic, give him a Titanmaster based off the Animated Headmaster (because we really should have gotten that in Titans Return) or something else extra.

But on the other hand, it comes at the cost of the Battlemasters. And I was hoping to see those continue with some more money and effort invested into the gun ones.

Article rumor states its micromasters not battlemasters that are being dropped -which is even worse when it means micromaster teams will never be complete and makes the connectivity/bases forgotten.

Supposedly Battle Masters are also being replaced, by "Fosilizers", little robots that turn into armor, presumably bone looking. I'm also trying to reign in my excitement for Core figures, the skeptic in me says Legends got too expensive for the $10 point so they made Micromasters, but those are now getting too expensive so we're getting something even simpler with Core. Personally I'm expecting something between Legends and Beast Wars Happy Meal toys, but I'd like to be surprised!

Magmatron is a Beast Wars Neo character.

And he's not a combiner. He's just a slightly-bigger-than-average guy (like Megatron) who happens to have three component altmodes.

Can't we just call him a Triocon?

I do want Deathsaurus, but not as a Commander class. At best as a Leader since you just know his partners would be sold as Micromaster Spy Patrol members like Doubledealer's (and that class doesn't exist anymore!).

So, the leaker who leaked Kingdom and Beast Wars has said that the Fossilizers are replacing Weaponizers, and based on instruction art, it looks like they have a "bony, or stone like" design. Which could theoretically mean we could see a Dinobot II homage in the deluxe class

TM2 Dinobot would be the perfect candidate for a familiar-character Fossilizer, yes.

And in a perfect world, such could lead to a Selects redeco as Rapticon. 8-)

Nah, no need for one, plus with it being potentially the last commander class figure he would never get a victory leo to go with him. It would be better if they rereleased the MP and made a MP victory leo.

I assume it's just speculation based on this being the last part of the trilogy. I could see Commander Class continuing, though Titan Class may be ending unless they start branching into less well known Titans.

I maintain the idea that Victory Leo and Star Saber could be a Commander Class two pack where they're both PW leader sized figures. Star Saber would have the Evolution gimmick, as well as COMBAT gimmick, and Victory Leo has the Weaponizer gimmick. And because they'd only be sold together, they wouldn't have to put as much money into making a ton of molds because they could arrange some parts of both figures to be on the same sprue. After all, the Commander class is almost the price of two leaders. And while it'd not perfect scale, they could also justify it by saying it's so that it can scale with the Big Powered set of figures, as well as the Ginrai and God Bomber sets. Plus, the characters showing up makes sense since Time Travel is apparently going to be involved with Kingdom's story and Victory takes place in the far future (I think, I only know what I've read from TFWiki, and that was a while ago)

Yeah, but this line already has its main Autobot Leader in Rodimus Prime. Star Saber would be redundant to the story in that regard.

To paraphrase Optimus Primal from Beast Machines, "Does this team really need two leaders?"

Power of the Primes had 3 Leader characters with Rodimus, Optimus, and Optimal Optimus. Plus, they could recast Star Saber to a different role for the story, sorta like IDW, but less insanity. And Kingdom already has 3 Good Guy Leaders again with Voyager Optimus Primal, a Core class Optimus Prime, and Leader class Rodimus.

I don't think Star Saber would be that strange of an addition, especially as they already have the design work for a Leader Class Star Saber in their pocket. Just a bit of tweaking and I don't see why they couldn't release it for Kingdom
