I give him props on commercials (I mean that and music videos is where he got his start)..He's actually won an award for GMC, but there's a reason most commercial directors don't become feature film directors...

You're into advertising?

Yeah I work in media so I know alot of useless information on stuff like this, but when I found out Bay would direct my childhood fav I looked closely into his career and his knowledge of the fandom...I'll stop here xD...

@Sonray How the hell did this quote make you write what you wrote in your comeback? Man you are losing it...All I said was when I found out he was director I looked more closely into his career like I hadn''t before (hence my knowledge of the GMC commercials he directed)..That included his knowledge of the fandom (which was pathetically bad, but besides the point)...Good job rersponding back to a post that doesn't exist...PBS is learning dude, try to remember that...

You know Bay has his own forum where only people like you can join...Why not go there where you could speak with your idol first hand...Google it (shoot for the edit)...

So you want him to leave this forum because he likes Bays style of directing and his movies and you particularly dont. His opinion differs from yours so he should leave the boards?

Like sonray said, you don't need to know jack about a fandom in order to make a movie that mass majority will appreciate.

but when I found out Bay would direct my childhood fav I looked closely into his career and his knowledge of the fandom...I'll stop here

This is where he got his whole comment from, that one sentence because it implies that when you looked into his career that you instantly wrote him off as a director that is not "capable" of making the all wonderful "transformers" movie that you want.

What Robinson said, but if you need a direct response: (i can supply an in-depth pop-up diagram as well if you need it)

Why? Because i knew what you were implying, its always the same broken record crap with you people.

I was mearly trying to add some facts to the fiction, and the fact is a film studio doesnt care about "fans" (GASP! OMG NO WAY!!! -_-) they only care about making money. Hence why Bay, a non TF fan, was hired to direct the TF movie as the studio needed a summer blockbuster to fill their pockets, and Bay is most well known for doing this with his movies.

In hollywood no one cares about us whining fans, they just wanna make money and there isnt anything we can do to stop them as THATS BUSINESS.

Yeah so just accept this, have no dissention, be clones in the matrix, just happry to get whatever scraps of food they throw near your window-seal...Sorry I'm not a conformist so trite business analogies fail to impress me...And maybe this is ridiculously insane to you, but I've seen several blockbusters that have integrity AND made millions and millions of dollars...Shocking concept I know ...

Im not a clone, im no conformist either, but i was satisfied with the movie but i dont go around shoving my opinions down everyones throat trying to convince everyone that it rocked unlike some who will dedicate their lives to doing the same to people but with the opposite opinion.

If anyones guilty of trying to "citizens arrest" people not on their side, its you and your compadres of trolls who insist on doing nothing but argue with EVERYONE who liked the movie.

There was a German man once...long time ago... he tried doing the same thing for much worse reasons mind you, but the metaphore is the same. It was a great disaster, maybe you remember his name?

If your life is so empty that this is all you have to do on a day to day basis, then you have one hell of a long journey on your hands because you arent going to change everyones minds.

Stop trying to brainwash people into your way of thinking, and just move the feck on.

I have nothing against people hating the movie, but what i do have a problem with are idiots like you going around everywhere and forcing your bullshit opinions down everyone who even remotely liked the movies' throat!

You contradict your cause with this behaviour, as you spout out about "free speech" and "the right to an opinion" yet you seem totally and utterly unwilling to respect those of other people whose opinions differ from yours.

Again, i cant stress enough that you and your friends are entitled to your opinions, but for slag sake stop going everywhere and trying to "convert" or convince everyone else who doesnt agree with you!

This HAS TO STOP, as i am seriously fed up with this behaviour as it is not only against this site's TOS, but also morally wrong.

I seriously hope a high-end mod will step in soon and put an end to all of this. I am outraged that this has been allowed to go this far as it is. I am angry, upset and insulted by you and your friends trying to force your opinions upon everybody and it has to stop because its making this site and its community look bad.

Im not saying anything else on the matter nor will i be responding to anything further you have to say as i dont want to get angrier than i already am and say something stupid that also breaks the TOS which will just make me look like a hypocrite.

But unless you stop, chill out and realize that not everyone is going to agree with you no matter how hard you try to force your views on them you aint got much of a future on this site.

Please discuss your views on the movie, but for the love of Primus do it in a more mature, less arguementative and more diplomatic manner and stop shoving your opinions onto everyone!

I didn't bother to read his lengthy post Blackout as it's probably more flame-bait from him...Sonray, I'll just wait for a mod to deal with you as I randomly agree with anyone who has anything negative to say about you(don't care if it's only 1% of the forum)...Tired of one powerless member continually trying to persuade me into a pointless flame discussion that doesn't enhance my side of the debate..So with that I'll await TBTB to end this clash of opinions that's getting on my nerves because I don't know how to deal with passionate posts of difference like 99% of this forum is capable of...With that me and Hitler are off to watch the Pearl Harbor uncut DVD....

If you really wanted to "end" it as you say then you simply would have not responded, instead you respond in order to egg him on so that you can "further" your own opinion of him by claiming he is trying to lure you into a flame discussion when you are just as guilty.

Wow I guess my posts need to come with an instruction guide...If you didn't know that was called "mocking"..as in mocking what he did to me when I gave a long post and he pretended it was flame-bait to further his police academy membership...I guess it's not as sweet on the recieving end eh?

Of course it will, and it did, as fools dont listen to wise words, and now he is just being childish by claiming "not to read my lengthy posts". More like he simply cant admit that i am right.

Boy you're funny...and no that's not a random and pretentious defensive mechanism like you usally use...That's honesty...All I did was lampoon a previous post YOU MADE TO ME (In the thread where I shut you up)...don't you get it? Just keep being an admin-rat and I'll keep posting while enjoying my relationship with 90% of the members here not named YOU...You're the most vocal with the least power, must be frustating for you and your 1600 posts when members like Blackout and D-340 can still get along with me despite the heated debates we've had (are they playing the mod card? I must not be that bad)...

You just can't reach me dude...WHy don't you just give up?? I'm a lost cause man...I'm Hitler with a keyboard right? Torching your every comeback like books in a German bon-fire...I'm beginning to have pathos for you...I will never fall into your trap, because I'm just too good and have easily combated posters like you before...

For the other members, I only deal with finks this way so don't think I'll deal with you all the same way...Hopefully the next post takes us back to where we belong...

Late post but... anyway :)

No I would not like to see Nelson Shin or whatever his name is, design Transformers 2.

Alt, Nelson designed a cartoon, and I thought the 1986 wasn't good compared to the 2007. Why, well der because 2007 was live, 1986 was a cartoon. Bay should keep going... he wa made to design Transformers in Live-Action... unfortunately people think that by making another cartoon movie... they will earn money

Dream On! :P

I think EVERY director has to know a bit about the fandom.

It's just like doing a SUPERMAN movie. You have to gauge the fans mindset, the fans who really are the ones who established the pop culture of it.

Thru the ages since Superman was created back in the 30s, Superman has undergone many different kind of images, different suit style, different powers, even different "S" logo styles.

But it's the kind of Superman the fans love most that truly survives.

Now, if the director will disregard this, and create a Superman with curly mustach, or a short cape,.... or even just go back to the old 30s Superman with grayish hair, 30s style body shape, simplistic suit... I don't think SUPERMAN RETURNS will be such a box office hit.

(Take note: during the 30s, the original style superman was not much of a hit yet. That's why they kept on changing him till it finally works with the fans.)

That's what causing all this whirlwind critisms of the new TRANSFORMERS MOVIE 2007.

It seems Bay put more priority on his own ideas, or maybe his thought of catering to the general audience who "doesn't know a thing about TF". Could the TF Fandom be nowhere near his priorities?

As i said before, when making a movie that costs 150 million bucks, there is only one thing on the directors and studios minds....MONEY.

So they will make a movie that will appeal to the largest general audience and rake in the most cash and not make a movie just for the fans, who no one else will understand, and end up being a flop like the 1986 movie.

We should be grateful that we got as many G1 homages in the movie as we did.

I thought the 1986 Movie went flop because of the "****" word during the Moonbase-1 munching?

This gave the movie a PG-13 rating. Which banned majority of its fans at that time.

It will surely be a hit if not for the PG-13 rating.

I'vee seen the squabbling with Superman and now I've seen it with Transformers and here is my thought on the matter plain and simple.

You cannot nor will you ever be able to please every person in any given fandom when it comes to movie adapations.

Thats my profound statement thats been said many times over by those far smarter than I and it is the only thing that will ever be an infallible truth.

And now to piss off The Paragon of Virtue further with another tidbit of Godwin's Law (for those of you who don't know what that is, it states that longer an online discussion takes place, the more likely it is that someone will make a Hitler/Nazi reference)

Hitler war ein verärgertes Homosexuelles, dem mich von ** jemand ** von diesem Aufstellungsort erinnert. Hagel Megatron!
