More like the awesome movie you watched and hated due to lack of taste. 90% of the rest of the fandom calls it transformers. Now take your head out where the sun dont shine.

It is and will always be called Bayformers...nothing more and nothing less.

No...no I'm quite sure the title was Tranformers.
The Wikipedia article
The IMDb page.
But when I look for Bayformers, I get this:

And this:

Thenedain wrote:Hey, I refer to it as Bayformers, but that's because saying Transformers the Live Action Movie is waaaay to long for a conversation. I'd prefer to call it Spielbergformers, but that sounds kind of like something you might find in a cheese manufacturing plant instead.
Back to the topic at hand!
If they did have to hand the reins of power over to a new director, there's a few people out there who I'd like to see take a shot. David Twohy, as mentioned earlier, would be an interesting choice, and he's definitely got an eye for big budget sci fi action flicks. Sam Raimi, not so much, as his movies have become overly repetitious in scheme. Peter Jackson, while definitely able to direct a badass fight scene, just doesn't really do it for me. I think someone like Luc Besson ( probably best known for the Fifth Element ) or Kurt Wimmer might be able to break out something really interesting as far as story and designs are concerned.
Personally? I'd like to see Guillermo Del Toro get a shot, if Bay ever dropped out as director. He's never done big budget action, but he's got a great eye for story and design. While he wouldn't really fit a standard Autobots vs. Decepticons movie, I could see him doing something mindblowing for a movie where the main plot centers around Unicron, or maybe even the Quintessons. If anyone could make those lame Quints cool, I would say it would be Del Toro. The guy has a way with things with tentacles...

However if they did have to pass the reigns think maby they could get Johnathan Franks to do it?
Shadowman wrote:I'm going to say one name, then walk away. You will be sold:
Joss "Firefly" Whedon.

Who dat? A quick IMDB search yields me nothing. What's he done before, or is it just mispelled above?

Seriously, I wouldn't mind Bay to return, but I would suggest Whedon as well.

You know something we very nearly killed Transformers the very same way Thunderbirds was killed

As producer, or writer? Oh, hell yeah. The guy can write, that's for damned sure. For director? Meh... not so much. While I'm open to the idea, I kind of prefer his work when he's more behind the scenes. I'd be interested to see what a Whedon screenplay would look like, that's for sure!

He did FireFly and Serenity, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, writes for Marvel (Is he still doing that?).
He also did Titan A.E. Can someone explain why people hate Titan A.E.? I loved that movie. (Saw it at a young age, and it stuck with me, much in the same way G1 did with you guys)

We did?

Shadowman wrote:You know who would be cool for the script?
David "Solid Snake" Hayter.
He wrote the first two X-Men movies, I.e. the good ones. He also did The Scorpion King. (Don't know how people feel that one, I haven't even seen the whole thing, just bits and pieces)
He's also doing Watchmen.
OH! That gives me an idea for director (Albeit wishful thinking) if we HAD to get rid of Bay...
Zack Snyder. Dawn of the Dead and 300, two of the best adaptations/remakes of all time.
