As producer, or writer? Oh, hell yeah. The guy can write, that's for damned sure. For director? Meh... not so much. While I'm open to the idea, I kind of prefer his work when he's more behind the scenes. I'd be interested to see what a Whedon screenplay would look like, that's for sure!

He did FireFly and Serenity, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, writes for Marvel (Is he still doing that?).

He also did Titan A.E. Can someone explain why people hate Titan A.E.? I loved that movie. (Saw it at a young age, and it stuck with me, much in the same way G1 did with you guys)

i totally agree with you Shadowman. you are a cultured geek in every sense of the word.

JOSS WHEDON!!! GASP!!! *faint*

Tim Burton would be a great choice as he's experienced in making us relate to strange and wonderful beings and tends to respect the source material he's working on while reworking it into something new and interesting(kind of the opposite to what actually happened with the TF movie)

I just don't want Bay again. It'll just be more of the same. He's just not a good director. I don't want more horrible puns. I didn't like the whole feel of the movie in terms of it being stretched to a sequel.

Bay is still a hack as far as I'm concerned.

If he does to Transformers what he did to Batman, the people who want it to remain close to the source material will be just as angry.

I'd mention another Batman director, but I hear saying his name could get me killed. It's like a swear-word in geekdom. :-s

But the Wachowski Brothers. I like that idea.

Nah...Burton, although great, wouldnt suit a TF movie. And Shadowman, are you referring to Joel Shoemacher or Chris Nolan? If Joel ever got hsi hands on TF...id have to kill somebody. Chris Nolan would be great, but he hates CGI.

Joel Shumacher.

What's really weird, is that he made Batman and Robin really poopy and neon-colored, but he made The Number 23 dark and menacing.

in no order:

Micheal Bay

The Wachowski Brothers

Alex Proyas

Luc Besson

Steven Spielberg

James Cameron

Christopher Nolan

(the latter two are utter pie in the sky dreams but they would be nice)

so you do enjoy bay's mindless action direction as a director. i would like to see another director to input a different approach to a new sequel.

I am an action movie junkie. They are my fave types of movies. Bays movies are entertaining, and thats all a movie needs to do to be good in my opinion since thats the whole point of entertainment.

If i wanted a deep and complicated plot, id go watch a drama thriller like memento or something.

ditto, though IMHO i'd rather put it this way:

1. Joss Whedon (Firefly! Serenity!)
2. Zack Snyder
3. Michael Bay / Wachowski bros.
4. Steven Spielberg

OH GOD, NO and NO!

The Matrix movies SUCKED! Keep the Wachowski's at least a continent away from anything having to do with TFs.

And I'd want Joss Whedon if I wanted unwatchable sci fi fanwank. I loathe Firefly/Serenity almost as much I loathe the Matrix movies.

And FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, NO Tim Burton. I liked the first to Batman movies, but that's it. All the rest of his crapfests he released are all Johnny Depp uber goth wankfests. I couldn't even begin to go into the suckage of the majority of his "movies".

For me:

Zach Snyder: Haven't seen 300, but DOTD 04 was awesome. He knows how to keep a good pace.

Bryan Singer: He did X-men great. He could handle TFs very well.

James Cameron: The Terminator trilogy was excellent sci fi. He would be great for TFs.

No sir, didn't like it. But then again, hated Star Trek as well. I also hated Stargate, Buffy, Dr. Who, and alot of the stuff that ended up on the Sci Fi channel when no one wanted to air it any more.

It is odd though. You don't like Firefly/Serenity, Star Trek, Stargate, Buffy, and Dr Who, yet you like a franchise about alien robots that can transform into different forms! :P

Just not my cup of tea, really. I've always liked robots, though. Stuff like TFs, Megaman, Mega XLR, Terminator, Robotech and what not appeal to me more.

which character(s) in the transformer universe that you want or don't want to see in the next TF sequel? ex, if they add grimlock and other dinobots in the next one, the movie itself will not be consistent or make any sense. i mean dinosaurs in the modern world will be laughable, how can you explain their existence?

it's easy, you see Sam gets a job as a nightwatchman at the musuem of natural history. the next thing you know, everything in the musuem comes to life at night and sam has to keep them all withing the four walls or else their sparks will extinguish come sunrise. meanwhile, they introduce Transformers Pretenders and Bludgeon uses the shell of Dick van Dyke to try to steal the power of the all-spark and or something like that....lol
