Ive been a Transfan all my life, ive seen every series, every episode, and some series' Twice. I have plenty of merchandise and even take part in the forum games here at Seibertron with characters that i love the most from most of the series.

I dont need to be told the movie sucked by haters... Why can't you just learn to voice your opinions to those who care? Lovers of the movie DONT care for this. And i was one of them.

If you wanna hate, go hate somewhere else, like go make a website called.... I hated transformers .com and then go comment there.

V_V SICK and tired of this.

EDIT: For those who say the movie wasnt dark? Lol. silly... Really, i mean, Optimus shoving his Blade and chopping the head off a decepticon.... is immature :D (And did you expect this movie to be mature? based of a cartoon made originally for children?)

Ehhh... I enjoyed the movie but I still have to disagree with the 'go away' comment. I mean the movie is a tiny, tiny part of the transformers franchise, so someone can be a transformers fan and dislike it, and they have a right to express that opinion on a forum with other transformers fans. Its frothing obsession over a childrens toyline in either the positive or negative thats really creepy and offputting. The movie can be disappointing, but if it made you MAD there is something seriously wrong with you.

I'm not following you here... I never said you were wrong for voicing your opinion, just that I didn't agree with it. I think alot of conflict comes from people thinking that those things are one and the same.

Well, for a guy who "REAAALLY hated the movie" and was "MAD" and stuff... he sure kept the yelling to a minimum while coherently voicing his specific complaints.

I decided to watch the video just then (prior to this I'd been replying to posters here, not the initial source.) at 48 seconds he starts overeacting inappropriately. Swearing in response to this movie is legitimate. Yelling, screwing up your eyes and lunging at the camera makes you a tool. That said, alot of his points are true, and the movie in many ways WAS dumb, but his reaction and the manner in which is he conveys it is dumber.

There's a fine line between passion and obsession. Anyone who gets upset ("hatred") at fiction - especially stories about giant transforming robots that are based off toys - is probably taking the setting too seriously. No offence directed towards you, Wingdarkness, but in a world of poverty, cancer, torture, crime, etc etc, I don't waste my energies on getting too worked up over a movie or a range of toys.

There's a door leading out of your room (or office). Walk along the corridor that connects to an exit. Step outside that second (or third . . .) door and then go for a longer walk. At points, sit in the sun and watch the world. Do this until you forget about Bay's TFs.

There's a more important world outside. Don't get caught up being upset over giant transforming robots. Trust me, it's nicer to worry over other things. ;) :)

This post is made of so much Win.

I agree. Getting this upset over a movie or franchise is absurd. If you lost everything in the world, I'm pretty certain Transformers wouldn't be the first thing you'd try to get back.

QFT.

Oh, and the who did the youtube vid is a tool. A typical whiny fanboy. If you don't like it, oh well. Move on with your life, and if your life ended because of it, well you really didn't have a life to begin with.

I never understand this kind of reasoning. Obsessing in a "I gotta buy it all" manner is okay, spending all day talking about how much you love something on internet forums is okay, but woe and damnation the moment you dare not to like it - THEN you're a fanboy.

No, I don't think that it works that way.

I still don't get why a film based on a animated toy commerical for kids should be accused of product placement... the entire film is product placement for transforming robot toys.

Us unevolved apes have to cut the guy some slack. He is probably just really upset that they didn't make the live action version of "The Girl who Loved Powerglide." I mean, what Micheal Bay movie doesn't have some formulaic love story to it... However, "TGwLPG" was nowhere near as dark as "Carnage in C Major. Maybe that is what the "True Fans" are after?

If I loved the movie I guess I should turn in my "True Fan" license. To think that I have been living a lie since 1984... And I just downloaded "The Touch" as a ring tone.

Oh well, at least I get to keep hating Crapmada and beyond. (But not the comic versions; those were awesome.)

So that means its ok to make the same mistakes as the original then? Or that one shouldnt hope that its not just another "giant toy commericial"?

If you want to see a transformers movie, you should anticipate and accept that product whoring will take place. Otherwise I can't see one of the major studios touching it. Why would they?

Your delusional if you think the studio heads will turn down products placements.

It's a business, they are there to maximize their ROI.

This is my first post and its a shame its in the movie thread but i saw this video and i had to post. Its a nice rant but it seems like the people who disliked this movie are in a small minority. And im shocked that the majority of fans loved it, the average audience in my cinema were chavs, they liked the action, and took for gospal that what they saw on screen was an accurate representation of the transformers from back in the day. Actually thats assuming too much from the audience, most just went wow at the big bangs. The plot was none existent so i couldnt engage with it, and there was no emotion when **** happened... ie Bumblebee's legs, the kid screams for Ratchet hes ignored, and when Jazz dies...Prime simple responds with...Awwww Jazz...oh look some humans weeeeeee....

Here's my opinion on the movie, and it's really all I'll say on it. A month before release, I hated the concept ( pretty much based solely off really disliking the designs) , and swore I wouldn't see it. A day after release, a longtime friend of mine who was up to visit for the holiday weekend dragged me and our friends to see it. I exited the theater with kind of a neutral feeling: it was a pretty fun movie, but it wasn't really what I wanted to see. Now, it's started to grow on me more and more. Is it a perfect film? No. Could more have been done with it? Yes.

Really, the lack of character building is the big killer for me. The Decepticons pretty much should have gone the old Batman TV show route of having "Thug" and "Henchman" written right across their chests. The 'torture' scene with Bumblebee falls flat because we've got no real reason to actually like the character, and I've seen extras in war movies get better recognition than Jazz did. Poor robot was pretty much a Red Shirt dressed as a Pontiac Solstice.

I have strong hopes for the franchise, though. There's tons of places they can go from here, and I'm hoping we'll see more actual plot and character development from any sequels. My opinions, however, will change if the sequels end up being empty film loaded with big booms.

Heck, looking back, the original Star Wars was a pretty basic movie ( as a friend says: A B-Movie that managed to make it ) in plot and characterization, but Lucas managed to get a solid plot and memorable characters out of the trilogy. One can only hope Transformers ends up the same way.

Just so hilarious to see how you people settle....and the Youtube guy's the tool? My goodness...I doubt he knew some random Bayformer lover was gonna just put his passionate opinions on blast in this forum...But yeah he's the tool, while people settle and settle and settle....Here's a guy despite his hate can still express himself in a thoughtful manner pointing out the logical aspects of the movies failings...The people who are pi$$ed at him have nothing to offer but the obligatory "Well Bay's movies always have cliches..." or "It's just a toy movie...", or "This movie was great cause it had smashing robots!!" But that is what we have to contend with...the easily entertained, yet we're the tools...I mean I think bananas taste good, but dammit if I'll carry a half-dozen on the way to my car (a non transforming car BTW^^)for fear of my life...

Burn has the right to 'settle' with the movie, im more worried about the audience that knew nothing before transformers...Im all for hearing the logical comments and critics from this side of the fence. I dont want to get on peoples backs about it but id like to hear the reaons why they enjoyed it when all logic points to it being a boring b movie, @ Thenedain, Bay cant create classics, Star Wars had a back story, Bay couldnt even agree with writters of the novel about which dates were true.
