wingdarkness wrote:@Blackout - Thanx...I'm really just a passionate fan when it's all said and done and in the end I really mean no harm...So sorry if I offended you...D-340 wrote:And it goes back to the whiny geewuner fanboy pissing and moaning about Prime's flames. I love how they can't help but grasp at straws now. It's ok though, his long winded rants are hilarious.
Wow a lazy and passive-aggressive post aimed at getting people on your side when you're incapable of breaking down my actual statements...Hmmm never seen that before ...Glad you LOL'd though I thought my Sparkplug and Jazz satire was pretty funny myself, along with some other stuff I wrote specifically for chuckles...I try to make my long posts enjoyable to read atleast...Awaits your next defense-mechanism disguised as a audience pleasing post..
Burn wrote:wingdarkness wrote:@Burn - If your not an ape I'm certainley not talking to you, just using that as an extreme overveiw of how hollywood Blockbusters are catered nowadays...And Micheal Bay specifically--the lowest common denominator of generic audiences...
And yet, so many of his films are successful.
Says a lot about the human race doesn't it?
And me too considering I don't mind his films.
But then i'm not a true fan. So what would I know?
wingdarkness wrote:@Koloth - Real fans are people who aren't settling, who aren't telling themselves to go into the movie with low expectations just to enjoy it, who aren't compromising because their 7 year old is enjoying smashing Robots so they tell themselves this was great...Who aren't coming up with the mentally pathetic excuse of "What did you want an Oscar-worthy plot?" when people are just asking for a plot that makes sense...Who aren't coaxing themselves into an illusion of "I'll support the movie because it's better than no Transformers at all" ,...Well to alot of us "real fans-true fans" (take that however you will)all that's a crock and we rather nothing over rapeage...
But like I've said before, either you feel it or you don't...It's not like I predicted 23 years ago I was gonna be pi$$ed at a Transformer movie...It just happened and hoards of my 1984 brethren feel the same way...They refuse to suppress their raw emotions to somehow put a positive spin on some of this...The guy in the youtube clip is quite the same...The dude is just spewing his raw, unfiltered opinion rather than being an apologist or spinster for Bay, or Bayformers, or Transformers...and I for one respect that a helleva lot more than these born in 1988, G1 loyalist telling us to calm down...There's a reason why so many "real fans" don't get why we continue to b!tch and moan..
I don't have a billion to do the movie in a more pleasing way; all I have is this keyboard and while I'm shootin' the breeze I'll leave a record for the movie-seekers of the future so that when they Google some Trans-Movie info or reviews atleast some percentage of individuals will know a huge part of the fanbase that made making this movie RELEVANT felt it betrayed us...
The way you feel when you hear us moaning is the way I feel when I hear you and people of your ilk go on about how fantastic this movie is...But that doesn't even really tick me off as much as these g1ners (of whom I've only come across a couple) who spin and contort their body in every direction to apologize or suppress their real feelings..I'm a big fan of speaking how you feel and this guy did that and for the most part I understand his frustration and that it's coming from a place of respect for Tranformers and what it really meant to so many of us...Not that you don't respect it Koloth, but either you feel this emotion or you don't...This $hit isn't an act, it's pure-honesty...

Koloth wrote:Yep, exactly the argument I expected. And yet still didn't address what was wrong with the movie beyond complaining that is wasn't G1. If the story is such a problem then address that. Because the "It isn't G1" argument isn't going to cut it. I can only assume that using that argument that everything from the beast era on sucked in your opinion. Yet I have found enjoyable aspects in all of them.
Once again I don't care if you hate the movie. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. What I can't respect though is BS claims that those of use that did enjoy the movie aren't true fans. Though clearly you can't see that this arguement is posturing to place yourself above the rest of the fandom in some sort of superior position where only your opinion matters and therest of us commoners should bow down and worship your superior knowledge. The problem there though is unbeknownst to you the general fandom is far more intellegent than that and sees right through your crap.

I guess we can only strive to be as awesomely true a fan as he is.

Huh? What are you talking about?
wingdarkness wrote:^Man-o-Man...Sheesh I have no intent to disagree with you I just didn't understand what your post meant..Don't patronize me by asking me to ignore you...I'm really not a monster...I was geniunely trying to figure out what you were saying...That's all...
Koloth wrote:Wing I was there in 84 too. You can cut the bull crap thinking you're all that. Fact is you're not. I may not have had as many toys because I didn't have as much disposable income as some others but I had my share. And my uncle who is only three years older than me had more than his fair share as well. Just because people came in later doesn't make them any less a fan than you either.
And the franchise was all but dead until Beast Wars so get over it. G1 wasn't the end all and be all of the franchise. It was a starting point and season 3 was very nearly an ending point too. I'm sick to death of geewuners that think they are the only ones that matter. Yes we were there at the beginning but most of us grew up and left it to younger veiwers. You can't fault Bay for not doing a G1 remake because the Geewuners are not going to bring this movie any money. It is the lowest common denominator that is going to put money in the pockets of the production.

Our unevolved ape like brains simply cannot compete/argue with the brain of a true fan.
Let them have their rants, all our grunting and banana requests do is give them reason to continue to harp on about trivial matters.
Now if you'll excuse me, i'm taking these bananas and swinging to the top of the tree to enjoy them while also oogling at my 800+ figure collection, complete G1/BW dvd collection and my few hundred issues of Marvel UK G1 comics.

Will you share your bananas?
wingdarkness wrote:@ D-430 - Puhleeze...If Koloth was Soundwave you'd be the little tape-cassette in his chest..."D-430, apologist eject!" Make your own points and stop cheerleading...Nothing sadder than a grown man with pom-poms...While I don't see eye to eye with Koloth atleast I have some respect for him despite his hatred for me..Atleast he's bringing in content instead of just playing the "applause-game"...
Without orginal g1 there is no Bayformers, no Japanese take-over with Headmasters that inevitably kept the genre so strong in Japan that it was brought back with Beast Wars, No cheerleaders in 2007 talkin bout g1 died either...Transformers would have been a 13 ep series that faded into oblivion like a random Hanna Barbara cartoon found Sunday nights at 4am on Boomerang if it wasn't for the cultural phenomenon we created...You ain't g1, you wish you were g1 that's why your cheerleading so hard...Go get Mike Bay a cup of decaf while he re-designs Powerglide into a tube of KY jelly...You wanna go down this route, I go no problems with it...Be offended or not, I could careless, IMO you're a POSER, now do what posers do "Rooooll Out"....
This is between me and R2D2-430, so don't take this post as a challenge to random members just to this singular cheericon...
