Wow a lazy and passive-aggressive post aimed at getting people on your side when you're incapable of breaking down my actual statements...Hmmm never seen that before ...Glad you LOL'd though I thought my Sparkplug and Jazz satire was pretty funny myself, along with some other stuff I wrote specifically for chuckles...I try to make my long posts enjoyable to read atleast...Awaits your next defense-mechanism disguised as a audience pleasing post..

:APPLAUSE: You found me out. I'm all in defense mode cuz you didn't like a damned movie. I could care less. I just find it funny that people still go on and on over all of this. There is nothing you or anyone else can do about anything now. Don't like it, don't see it, don't buy it. End of story. Nobody's forcing you to do anything. And, I've said it before, Bay may have raped your childhood, but not mine. I've been a fan since I was a kid, and the movie did nothing to change anything.

And so you know, I'm not here to please any crowd. People like my statements, so be it. But I don't speak my mind to please anybody.

And yet, so many of his films are successful.

Says a lot about the human race doesn't it?

And me too considering I don't mind his films.

But then i'm not a true fan. So what would I know?

Yep, exactly the argument I expected. And yet still didn't address what was wrong with the movie beyond complaining that is wasn't G1. If the story is such a problem then address that. Because the "It isn't G1" argument isn't going to cut it. I can only assume that using that argument that everything from the beast era on sucked in your opinion. Yet I have found enjoyable aspects in all of them.

Once again I don't care if you hate the movie. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. What I can't respect though is BS claims that those of use that did enjoy the movie aren't true fans. Though clearly you can't see that this arguement is posturing to place yourself above the rest of the fandom in some sort of superior position where only your opinion matters and therest of us commoners should bow down and worship your superior knowledge. The problem there though is unbeknownst to you the general fandom is far more intellegent than that and sees right through your crap.

But like I've said before, either you feel it or you don't...It's not like I predicted 23 years ago I was gonna be pi$$ed at a Transformer movie...It just happened and hoards of my 1984 brethren feel the same way...They refuse to suppress their raw emotions to somehow put a positive spin on some of this...The guy in the youtube clip is quite the same...The dude is just spewing his raw, unfiltered opinion rather than being an apologist or spinster for Bay, or Bayformers, or Transformers...and I for one respect that a helleva lot more than these born in 1988, G1 loyalist telling us to calm down...There's a reason why so many "real fans" don't get why we continue to b!tch and moan..

I don't have a billion to do the movie in a more pleasing way; all I have is this keyboard and while I'm shootin' the breeze I'll leave a record for the movie-seekers of the future so that when they Google some Trans-Movie info or reviews atleast some percentage of individuals will know a huge part of the fanbase that made making this movie RELEVANT felt it betrayed us...

The way you feel when you hear us moaning is the way I feel when I hear you and people of your ilk go on about how fantastic this movie is...But that doesn't even really tick me off as much as these g1ners (of whom I've only come across a couple) who spin and contort their body in every direction to apologize or suppress their real feelings..I'm a big fan of speaking how you feel and this guy did that and for the most part I understand his frustration and that it's coming from a place of respect for Tranformers and what it really meant to so many of us...Not that you don't respect it Koloth, but either you feel this emotion or you don't...This $hit isn't an act, it's pure-honesty...

As someone who grew up on G1 and still loves it, I think Beast Wars is easily the best made Transformers cartoon. It's not even close.

Then again, the simple fact that I just said that means I'm not a true fan because I'm supporting Prime being a "munky" instead of a "trukk," and he didn't even have a permanent faceplate in that show. If only I could be as true a fan as wingdarkness, then my opinion would actually matter. I guess we can only strive to be as awesomely true a fan as he is.

All I did was tear the plot to shreds satirically, you can pretend you missed it..I'm fine with that...and I also made it clear I didn't want a total g1 cartoon remake (you can pretend you didn't read that aswell)...I didn't particularly like Beast Wars, but again without that first orginal fanbase(g1) there is no Beast Wars, there is no Armada, Cybertron, Energon,...The Japanese bought the franchise because of it's explosion here in the mid-80's and wanted to recreate that in their market...I already explained it, when I say "true-fan" that's my own little moniker for the 1984 fanbase that made TRANS FORMERS a relevant entity here in America(You can pretend you haven't heard me say this multiple times aswell)...If you don't fall under that heading don't be offended...

WE g1ners made transformers relevant, that's just a FACT, whether you want to accept it or not, and it's not a slight it's just the god honest truth...Without me sitting my a$$ down in 1984, begging my mom to buy me every TF available you would have no Bayformers(and I had atleast 75% of the toys that appeared from season 1-4)...SO continue to see thru my crap, but at the end of the day my stance doesn't change...You can't change the truth...and if the general fandom = the general Michael Bay movie audience, then intelligence is a very bias term indeed...But again that's my true opinion, don't agree that's totally fair...

I guess we can only strive to be as awesomely true a fan as he is.

Heh, It wouldn't hurt :-P ...

Wing I was there in 84 too. You can cut the bull crap thinking you're all that. Fact is you're not. I may not have had as many toys because I didn't have as much disposable income as some others but I had my share. And my uncle who is only three years older than me had more than his fair share as well. Just because people came in later doesn't make them any less a fan than you either.

And the franchise was all but dead until Beast Wars so get over it. G1 wasn't the end all and be all of the franchise. It was a starting point and season 3 was very nearly an ending point too. I'm sick to death of geewuners that think they are the only ones that matter. Yes we were there at the beginning but most of us grew up and left it to younger veiwers. You can't fault Bay for not doing a G1 remake because the Geewuners are not going to bring this movie any money. It is the lowest common denominator that is going to put money in the pockets of the production.

In the review the guy stated he wanted the movie to be darker, more fear and suspense. I agree with that. That would have been nice but not feasible given the audience that was watching.

Because Im adult I wanted a more adult movie, but Im happy with what I got because the CGI was amazing and I accept it as a NEW time continuum and not G1.

Same here, been there since day one. And I don't have have any rose colored glasses on, we who grew up on G1 did not make Transformers what it is today. Just cuz some kids in the 80's loved doesn't mean it survived solely on us old schoolers. It didn't, it died. Or did you so conveniently forget anything post 86 movie. Let me refresh your memory: Season 3 flopped, the toys started declining in popularity, kids wanted Optimus Prime, we got Rodimus. Hasbro tried giving us Optimus again, but too little too late too save the series. TFs went out with a whimper, not a bang. How do I know this, I WAS THERE. I watched TFs disappear, and it bummed me out, but that's how it goes. They tried with G2 but it flopped horribly. The next TFs got any kind of popularity again was Beast Wars. So we G1 fans had nothing to do with its continuing popularity, it's ability to draw in new fans has.

For the record Koloth, you are a friggin' genius.

And I will say this. Be offended or not, I could care less, it's my opinion. Geewunners aren't true fans, they are hopeless nostalgics who can't get over the fact G1 DIED in 87. Get over it, I did. And I'm a very happy Transfan for it, I can appreciate the whole franchise, not just one part.

I don't hate you. Like you said before I don't even know you. I just hate what your about in this particular thread. Which is simply put cutting down anyone that found even an inkling of enjoyment in the movie. You can hate the movie all you want, but I take acception at you attacking the fans that did like it.

There are plenty of bad movies out there. And plenty of people with no taste that will like them. It may be your opinion that this movie is one of those bad movies. Though the truth is more likely the movie itself is good as most people seem to generally agree. However for the rabid fanboy type it is a bad Transformer story.

But then I have always felt the rabid fanboy of anything was purely to the determent of the rest of the fandom. They are usually the least agreable to change and the most vehomoth attackers of said change. Though ultimately this movie like Beast Wars and even Beast Machines will be accepted by the majority of the fandom and the rabid fanboys will either learn to accept it or get ignored by the rest.

My 1000+ TF collection(many of which ARE G1, and I've had since I was a kid, thank you), the Con tattoo on my forearm, the Bot tattoo on my wifes forearm, my very huge DVD and VHS(some original, some of the Rhino reissues) coolection, and my 300+ TF comic collection(again, I'm in posession of the majority of the original Marvel G1 comics), my newborn son's TF bedsheets, and random Japanese TF memorbilia(I have the Famicon game, though I can't play it) says I'm nowhere near a poser. I've been collecting since day friggin' one, so yeah, I guess that would put me way beyond poser status.
